Maybe it's just the models in Asia as nobody anywhere else is seeing a difference
Perhaps it is. With so many products manufactured its not surprising people will have different experiences regardless of the measures put in place. In a week where we have seen phone's bending its not a good time to have issues publicly. Having said that not everybody bends their phone's and its only the ones that do you hear about. A bit like the gap. :)

this guy sounds like an apologist

"oh well it's a gap I can insert a piece of paper in it, it will most surely collect dust and crap in there....but hey Samsung says it's a feature so it's all good"

His point is that both the Note 2 and Note 3 had this gap and it was explained the same way in their manuals, yet there have been no "dust and crap" issues whatsoever with either of those phones.

People have managed to bend iPhone 5 but was never an issue before..

Sure it was, just a very minor one. Just like the current "bendgate" issue on the 6+. Probably for the iPhone 5 it didn't explode in media because everyone was busy crying about "scuffgate".

The difference is that the iPhone can be visibly disfigured with a deliberate action, whereas all that has been shown with the Note phones is that you can get a few pieces of paper stuck between the screen and the chassi - which can hardly even be called damage. And, no complaints have been raised (to my knowledge) about this small "weakness" resulting in any damage in any of the latest three Note phones so far. Of course the Note 4 hasn't really reached the public yet so we've yet to see for that one if it does cause any damage, but I seriously doubt it since the Note 2 and 3 both had the same gap.

Notice that it's not an issue with the iPhone 6 but with the 6 plus?

The large size makes it easy to bend in your pockets. The 5 was even smaller than the 6 so obviously it wasn't an issue.

Thing is Samsung say the gap is no different to what's in the note 2 and 3 manual. I havnt seen any such gap.

I don't have any gap or space on my Note 3. Tried many times and can't get anything to slide between the screen and frame. I was at Best Buy the other day and didn't see anything on the Note 4 either. It was as tight as my Note 3.

I noticed small gap between bezel and glass on my black S5. Swapped with white one where it is not visible. There are lot of messages about this gap on S5 android forums. Some of them are not bothered with it. Others are able to get a replacement.

Yay I have the gap on my S5 Lol Not bothered about it. Hadnt even noticed it until I saw your post.

I tried slipping a piece of paper in the Note 3 and well it's true that you can slip a paper in the gap. Never noticed it and it's not an issue.

can't do it on my Note 3. Tried several types all around the edges. no go.

Funny how people made out that only Apple has these issues lol

All companies make mistakes because we're all human...

Gapgate... it's real

Lewis has been tweeting that he has got the Note 4 from Samsung.
Isn't it funny he got it so quick for review....wink wink

Let's just hope he mentions #gapgate and gives it a good bend...

Have my doubts though!

It's not an issue... It's a feature!

#gapgate

It is as Samsung stated in its manual (page 180).
A small gap appears around the outside of the device case
• This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of
parts may occur.
• Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.

What does this have to do with the thread subject?
it is such a non issue. Has there been any reports of the gap causing any issues at all? No there hasn't. Has this gap or something similar been around for years? Yes it has been with no issues at all. But the whole gap issue is a play from apple fanboys to poke fun at Samsung. It is only to deflect attention from Bendgate......

Funny how you fandroids call apologists to Apple users but then you believe anything Samesung says....

It's a "feature" not a flaw!

Not an apologist....but show me the damage to the phone. Show me the issue. Show me if that damages the phone in anyway. Show me where Samsung has said it was a design flaw. Show me where Apple can say the same about the design flaw in the IP6+. It is too thin and long which leads to bending. It is made of a soft aluminum metal that is known to bend. You can't deny that. It is basic physics.......
Funny how you will believe anything Apple tells you.....

The problem with the iPhone 6 is being blamed on its anodized aluminum frame. Though anodizing can make it more durable, aluminum is a soft metal that can be bent with human hands. This how-to guide for bending anodized aluminum pipes says bending can result in surface cracking – not good news for the iPhone.

Users reported similar problems with the iPhone 5.

If Apple had intended the phones to be bendy, the company probably would have touted it as an innovative, desirable feature. It didn’t.
