Hmm, one phone bends out of shape and the other can just barely have a business card squished into the gap along the screen and frame, if you try really hard.

I know which problem I'd rather face. ..

Me too.

The dust and fluff collecting on the inside of my screen would drive me nuts!!

A bent iPhone has a way bigger gap, so you prefer the Note, right?

Nope.

The gap in the screen I can't do anything about.

The bending problem....well as long as I don't become a moron and go bending my phone with my monkey hands I'll be alright....

You guys do realise there's no way for dust to get inside a Samoled screen right? :D

Wouldn't everyone prefer an issue that's 100% preventable with using your device as intended? Seems like a no brainer to me.

It's a feature'] Samsung Galaxy Note 4 build issues reported by South Korean buyers

Well, it looks like the gap between the display and phone’s body is a “necessary manufacturing feature,”*according to the Galaxy Note 4 manual*that made its way online today. According to the manual, the gap might cause “some minor rocking or vibration of part” and could increase in the future due to friction between parts, making us wonder just what purpose it serves and why it is present on a flagship device like the Note 4. Hopefully, Samsung will come out with an official explanation as soon as it can before people start returning their Note 4s.

9 bent iPhones and Apple gets worldwide condemnation.

God knows how many affected Note4 units, and "to err is human" for Samsung.

Go figure.

Samsung had the same warning for the Note 2 and Note 3. Yet no one cared then. Why the fuss now? Because Apple fanboys need some straws to cling to while their 6+ are bending out of shape.

pretty cool feature...don't have to buy one of those spigen cases with the slots to hold phone up. Saving all kinds of money. Samsung should get Micheal Strahan to advertise their phones

Hahaha! I thought that was a joke when I first read it but it seems they've had a think about it and added in a vague explanation to cool a bit of the heat they are getting in the press. I'm sure the Note 4 owners out there who don't have this 'feature' will be returning their's for a gap instead. :)

I'm not sure they had to think too hard for an explanation when they already explained about the gap in the note 2 and note 3 manuals?

So is there a tolerance issue with the screens on some of the new Note 4's then? We've had people demonstrating gaps using business cards and all sorts and we've had people showing that their device has virtually no gap at all. Different markets and different tolerances? There was talk about only the Asian market having this as the tech media called it 'an issue'. It seems this has been handled badly if its a deliberate design feature and especially as Samsung refused to comment initially. I can imagine the reaction if another manufacturer had dealt with complaints in a similar fashion.

It's part of the design of the phone. But the Samsung haters must come out in full force of course. This gap was also mentioned in the manual of previous Note iterations in case you're wondering.

Cool, that's a relief actually.

Meanwhile, Apple has begun to revoke privileges for tech magazines that test if the iPhone can be bent...

Maybe it's just the models in Asia as nobody anywhere else is seeing a difference
