How?

----------

Read what you wrote to yourself "Apple patents dates back to 2007, just months before linux". Are you ok?

No argument there. I guess you know what happen to that Linux device after first iphone announcement, everyone scrambled and went back to drawing board. Starting from scratch, including Google device known as Android. The first Android prototype did not look anything like today's, it still had physical keyboards similar to Blackberry, then suddenly everyone comes out with touchscreen device after first iphone.

Just played with the Note 4 at Best buy. The only gap I saw was the functionally the Note 4 has over the iPhone 6 Plus. :p

Kind of helped that Eric Scmidt ran to google from apple after the iPhone was announced.

Yeah I would really like to see this so called "announcement" too. And whatever happened to this such device? Sounds like he's just making stuff up out of thin air.

Your probably used to the iPhone sub-forum and news forum were people just spit bs since your not familiar with 'kdarling', the man is not known around here for making stuff up out of thin air.

You need to take these off

Not making stuff up is one thing. Saying apple doesn't have a patent on pinch to zoom multi touch is another. Sure they have been challenged in court and have lost but in the end they have the patent. Samesung and android have developed work arounds but it was initially copied. To say that Wacom is Samesung's brainchild is also insane, along with the use of a the pen. Samesung doesn't even develop their own core software, they use googles and place function on top of that. Even Tizen is based on Linux and not something Samesung built.

Like how Apple's OSX is based off of Unix? It's not like they developed Unix or anything. Right??

Saying "samesung" over and over again makes people sound immature.
It makes one come across as spoonish, almost Rick Craniumish.

It doesn't help ones argument, it is the equivalent of myself repeating "crapple".

Its not new and it's not clever.

But Kdarling, you are :)

Back to the gap gate, is this really going to be an issue come delivery time?
Maybe, but now it is public domain, I doubt it.

Not arguing that but its not that easy. Comparing Linux is really just a kernel and Unix is a complete operating system. Apple actually developed its operating system but pays royalties to Unix because certain codes in OSx are similar to unix, apple accepts that it is unix based and pays. Linux is even a clone of Unix and they don't pay. Since we are talking about smartphones though iOS is based on apple's darwin which is a kernel like linux.

according to him Apple invented and patented everything.

But you know….

Not true, Apple was invented in 1976. Many many things were done before that but look at phones prior to the release of the iPhone.

I did see that in the two Best Buy display models today. I guess by your logic, every iPhone 6 Plus bends easily. ;)

Im not saying anything about logic. I posted a video of a guy getting cards in a galaxy note 4. You take it for what you want.

lol…..sorry but…

No I am not and I never plan on it. Some people move up by working hard and some, you know.

Humanity is often incredibly pathetic.....those kids should be arrested.

No they shouldn't. They are just kids. Instead, they should be "caught" by security and scared into thinking they are going to be arrested; given a stern lecture before informing them the police will not be called after-all this time; and then their parents called, like it was done when I was a kid and we did stupid things. No need to use the criminal justice system for everything!

----------

Samesung= teenage poster shows that you have no argument. You resort to name calling because you have no argument. remove yourself from the internet until you mature.

Isn't using the term"Samesung" name calling? I think it is, and unnecessary.

I am entirely an Apple user, by the way.

The supposed gap is actually a business card holder, for when you are out and about networking. It makes it a lot faster to give someone your business card, not to mention you give the appearance that you are a man or woman with a drive to be successful.

Or a sunscreen for poor commuter....

If your a smartphone it is. Isnt calling some a teenager name calling?

Look at apple's first smartphone then look at android's. Then look at phones now. With the exception of WP8 they all look and act like apple's first phone. Android has widgets which is just putting makeup on a twin.

Thank goodness my smartphones have zero gap construction. Both easy to clean with silver/metallic gray as very smudge resistant. Both look better than every Samsung and iPhone 6/6 Pluses.

Hated the gap on my Nexus One before though.

Gapgate/Bendgate - Quarrel among your poor quality construction and justify their weaknesses by insulting each other.

Watching Raffi squirm after getting massively owned there is making me cringe. Hard to watch when someone puts their fingers in their ears and starts throwing their toys around.

And I say that as an Apple fan.

Al Gore just called and still stands by the fact that he invented the internet.

Went and played with the Note 4 again at Best Buy. Didn't see any gaps or physical issues with the phone.

^^ This. Went yesterday and it was solid. Ironically, the store did tell me that they had someone come in and bend an iphone on display before walking out.

Not just Apple with manufacturing issues

http://phandroid.com/2014/09/29/samsung-galaxy-note-4-build/

I own a Note 2 and am planning on getting a Note 4. I came from an iPhone 4. Obviously these forums are littered with posts about iPhones bending so let's keep things fair and show that Samsung might be having some of their own problems.

Unfortunately while the flame wars are going on it seems like the general consumer is starting to become the loser as perhaps in both Apple and Samsungs (and other companies as well) are racing to get their products out they aren't spending as much time perfecting all aspects of their new designs.

Let's see how this (and the bending issues) play out.

Hmm, one phone bends out of shape and the other can just barely have a business card squished into the gap along the screen and frame, if you try really hard.

I know which problem I'd rather face. ..
