ive just tried this app after using byline for the past few days..

not sure what is going to happen in 2.0 so here's my thoughts..

1) Bylines UI is a lot slicker than Gazettes
2) No "view all" items (if this does get implemented, it will also need the "mark all items as read" button too)

Are these going to be addressed at all?

Apart from that, functionally, i think it's superior to Byline (damn i wish i had known about this app before i bought Byline!! lol)

Thanks

I found Gazette to be missing one essential feature such as syncing old and already read articles. If this was implemented this reader would be perfect. :D

So gazette won't sync any articles to the ipod that have already been read on the desktop? That might be a dealbreaker for me. I want something that will sync a certain number of the most recent items... read or not.

I emailed the developer late last week and he said to expect v2.0 "in a month."

I went ahead and purchased byline.

Gazette is still the best of the Google Reader apps. It has flaws, but its the only one that consistently keeps perfect sync with Google. The unread count always matches.

I have started using Google native web app. Google has fine tuned it quite a bit - it's now very fast & there are no sync lag issues (like we get with 3rd party readers)

Just tried it out and you are right. The only downside is you would not have downloaded feeds when there is no connection. Otherwise it is perfect and very fast. As a casual RSS user i am switching also.

Still nothing, not a peep from the developer, his website is pretty much empty.

Looks like he made a load of money on Gazette and then gave up on it. I certainly won't be buying any more of his apps in the future if he makes any.

Any update on the progress of 2.0? I still feel overall Gazette is my favourite RSS app - just wish some of the small issues such as speed could be sorted out.

Gazette 2 is out but at a price!

There is the link but please don't go there and don't buy it "AGAIN"!! I am rather upset since I only purchased Gazette because of the 2.0 promises that were made!!

Now Gazette Free or whatever it is, is unusable (you all know how bad the text formatting is)!!! Forcing me to upgrade but don't worry I will not spend a dime on an app by Matt again - unless he redeems himself!!

Anyone else feel ripped off?
