Seems my gevey is not working, when I insert it I just get a 'No Sim' in the signal area and a 'No Sim Card Installed' message pop up, no welcome message. If I just use the sim card on the regular iphone tray it recognizes there's a SIM card just tells me its invalid....so the sim card works fine.
Tried another SIM card, same result....
Anyone had this happen?

Can someone please upload photos of his Gevey PRO which he ordered from Applenberry.com?
Cause I've ordered one from eBay and I wonder if it's genuine or fake...

Thank you very much!!!

Im a little bit confused regarding the Gevey unlock solution.

I have an Active iPhone, i would like to unlock it so i Can use it in Europe next month. If i unlock it using my current sim (on my local provider) will i need to redo the unlock procedure once I get to Europe and have another sim card? Or can I unlockit now and just pop the new sim in when i get there. When I do change sims, will I need to keep the Gevey sim in thereas well?

What is the point? They all are made in China and mostly they all work because they are copying each other.

U need to do the procedure every time u reboot or remove the SIM. I think also if u lose the signal, not sure though.

So basically I have to unlock it with the Gevey SIM AND the sim I want to use the phone with.

For the 107th time, no.
You do not need to redo the unlock procedure when you lose signals. It will get back on the network automatically.

From what I've read on other forums. there's a point. The fake ones are cheaper because they're made of cheaper chip. And this chip can burn your all iPhone, And I really don't want to take that chance...
So please , If anyone bought a Gevey Pro from Applenberry please upload photos of it.
Thanks!

There is no proof on this. I have been using gevey sims I bought from Sunsky, Ebays where they came directly from Hong Kong/China for cheap. I have been using them for more than 1 month and there is nothing wrong. Unless, I see proof for this claim, I don't believe it happens.

It is all about the marketing and scare tactic using by companies trying to sell their product for higher price and in this case it is a Gevey Sim.

When the Gevey SIM first came out, there was a lot of discussion on the Chinese website, 3rd party tech company reviewer put on side-by-side comparison photo of real Gevey and generic SIM, the chip did look different, it's said that the generic SIM used lower quality chip.

I don't know for a fact if it will cost any damage, in long term, but I personally don't think it's worth the risk.

I don't know what the difference is between the non-Pro and Pro.
This is the original Gevey SIM, not my own pics but from Chinese site.

Thats an older model Gevey sim ( not the Gevey Pro)
got mine from www.unlockaniphone.org wich is a genuine pro.
they get them directly from the original factory.
Ill try to post some pics later so you can identify ( the pro has a larger chip) & it works a lot better on my 4.3.3 baseband 4.10.01

Help..

I running 4.2.1, on BB 3.10.01.

I'm going through the steps of the Gevey and getting stuck in the airplane mode on/off part.

As I toggle the airplane mode off, I get the "SIM Failure" and it just gets stuck there along with "invlalid SIM" in the upper left where the reception bars would be.

I toggle back and forth and get the same message each time. I turn the phone off and start over and get the same result each time.

I do get the 1 bar at the beginning of the process so I'm not sure what is going on.

Thanks in advance for helping me.

Couple things:

1) About 3% of the SIM cards just won't work, usually those are few years old cards, you need to get a new SIM card from your carrier and cut it down.

2) The metal part of the chip need to touch the SIM.

3) You should insert the SIM in at the same time when you slide the unlock bar after powering on the phone.

4) Quickly hang up on 112, if it stuck for awhile, it failed.

If you are absolutely sure that you followed the procedure properly, and everything went the same way as instruction video, only the last step it won't find signal, then likely it's the SIM card, either you need a new Gevey card or you need a new SIM card.

What's the benefit of the pro?
You still need to redo the unlock if the power is off/on, right?

I heard the Pro is just more stable and compatible with more sim cards....you do still have to redo the unlock if power is off.

I had a similar issue with the first Gevey I bought, turns out it was apparently one of the fake ones (got it for 11 bucks or so). I returned it and got the Pro (for 30 bucks) and this one works great.
I also noticed the old one's tray didn't fit flush and you could see light leak from it. This new one first like the stock one..

A few questions in regards to the Gevey SIM. I have a few iPhone 4's I need to unlock for friends and I've already jailbroken the phones, so this is the only way to unlock the 4 right now, correct?

Lastly, I'll need a Gevey SIM for EACH phone? When I first read it, I thought I could use one Gevey SIM to unlock all of the phones. From my understanding now, you have to leave the Gevey in the phone w/ a regular SIM card for it to work, right?

All of these iPhones I see on eBay say they are unlocked via the Gevey so I'm assuming they all come w/ the Gevey in order to keep it unlocked?

You need Gevey for eachphone, it's a piggy-back chip going into the phone with your SIM card.

Thanks! Looks like I'll need to buy a few of them then. From what I've read so far, it seems like the Gevey is the only way to unlock the iPhone 4? I think most of mine are going to be on 4.2.1 or 4.1, not sure about the baseband though.

For Iphone 4, Ultrasn0w 1.2.3 can only unlock phones with baseband 01.59. Any basebands higher than that can't be done at this time. These phones need to be unlocked by using turbo sim.

Okay
1. I could fit into that catagory
2. I'm tracking that part
3. I didn't try to insert it at the same time but will now
4. That's exactly what happens each time I dial the 112..it just gets stuck at the "ending call" part.

Hmm, I was reading and saw that I need to try to Gevey Pro. I'll have to look for that one.

Thanks for the help

That's EXACTLY what happens when you insert the SIM in before powering on the phone.

Even if you already successfully unlocked the phone, every time you reboot, you need to pop the SIM out again when redo the procedure.
