I had an order for a 256GB purple pro max that was scheduled for Oct 3-10 delivery. Was able to cancel that this morning and place a new order for the same phone for pickup from my Apple Store tomorrow. So excited!!

I’m doing a trade in, looks like the Apple stores don’t take the trade in, they still ship you a trade in kit.
Did my trade in at the apple store. No issues.

For others wondering, our store had only orders being filled in-store, no one browsing. There was a standby line for those purchasing a phone the store has available today, so some were available. They bring those people in when there is a lull in preorder pickup.

My Apple Store took my trade in today. I was so glad I wouldn't have to ship!
That's what I was hoping they would do so I don't have to deal with shipping it back but my store pickup order says part of it is the trade-in kit that will be shipped to me and a note under it that says that I will not be able to trade in the device in person at the store.

Mine said the same thing, no trade at the store, but they did take my trade. I was pleasantly surprised. Hope the same for you.

My local store (Stoneridge Mall) wouldn't let me pick up before my reserved slot. I went in around a little before 10:30 and my slot is 1:15. They said come back later. 10-10:30 and 10:30-11 reservations could pick up.

My Apple Store (Chicago Lincoln Park) had a medical emergency with one of the customers, but it still only took 20 minutes total. They sifted us into lines by time slot. Those that came late for their time slot had to wait behind those already there. It took about 10 minutes for someone to bring the phone up from the basement of the store. I'm about to put on the screen protector and set up!

Got mine! Posting on it right now. :)

My store in California was crazy quiet too. Noticed the employees were just going through the non-reservation line and just kept taking their orders and made reservations for them later in the day. It was 8:15 when we got there.

Lots of employees standing around. Seemed like some might be trainees. But a strangely mellow experience.

Has anyone had any luck picking up their phone early? I have a p/u time tomorrow afternoon but my order is showing as ready now.

Quick question: Do both phones have to be on the same version of iOS to transfer to your new phone?

I had a pickup appointment for tomorrow but it was showing ready on the app. I went to the store and an employee confirmed it was ready and I walked out 20 minutes later with it. There were a few people in line but not too crazy.
