Just received this. Picking up a 256GB PM deep purple 😎

Yes I'll make a first impressions post when I get home and have it set up and running.
Post on this thread too. Not just the Oceania thread. Because I'm hoping this 'global' thread invites people from different places, it would be cool to see just twenty-four straight hours of people posting 'yay I got it!'

My status just changed from “null” to “Available for Pick Up Sep 16”

Although it’s still not displaying my time slot.
Where are you? Is it less than 24 hours before the 16th? Seems like that's usually when we see changes for pick-up orders.

My scheduled pickup is 3:45-4:00pm on Friday. I was toying with going Saturday instead… but maybe I may just be late on Friday rather than wait till Saturday ;)

My silicone 14 Pro case from Apple was supposed to deliver today… it’s running a day late now. UPS isn’t quite what it used to be around here, hopefully people getting delivery Friday don’t have any disappointment. :)

Not sure why the debate. If it's fun factor: Maybe pick it up late on Friday and open it up on Saturday. :)

I just would like to avoid retail madness
And this is the Issue, the lines I expect will be very long, for those with pickup times, do you get in line or move to the front and Inform you Are there for a pick up ? I asked this in a previous thread, this thread is dedicated to this specifically and wanted some opinions.

Picking up a Deep Purple 14Pro 512GB tomorrow at 9am. Pretty excited and hopefully won't be too clogged at the store

What I've *heard* is that there are two lines - one for pickup and one for those going into the store for purchase on the day. Apparently those arriving late with earlier pickup times would be fast tracked. Not exactly sure though.

I’ve picked up before when there were lines. Go to the rep at the door, and let them know your pickup time. They will fast-track you.

I wish I was excited for my store pick-up. The closest store to me is about an hour and 15 minutes away. I was off Friday so figured I'd do pick-up rather than wait until UPS delivered around 6PM but the Apple store app crapped out on me pre-order morning and kept freezing. By the time I got through my model wasn't available and shipping was already October 10-17th. Store about two and half hours away had it so I grabbed it but not looking forward to the drive.
Wow. 5 hour drive round trip. That's what apple does to us lol. So glad Living in Miami we got 6 stores. The one near me is 10 mins away. Ready for pick up tomorrow. I didn't select morning as I have to come to my warehouse and set up my employees for the day. I'll go pick up around 12:30. I wont set up till I get home at 5 or so.

Ah, I just have a conflict that’s come up and may not be able to make it by 4. I’m trading in my current 13 Pro though so I guess there won’t be any waiting to open it once I go! Unless I want to be incommunicado for a bit 😝

Has anyone ever done the thing where you wait in line overnight for a launch? I don’t think it happens much now, if at all, due to the pre-order system. I did do it once— it was 2013, the first year T-Mobile was an option at launch. I was within the first 10 or so people in line I think… and when Apple employees started kinda gathering ’orders’ of what people in line wanted, I learned they didn’t even have a single one available of the color / capacity of iPhone 5S I wanted 😂 Rough times being on T-Mobile back then, haha. (I was looking for a gold iPhone 5S— may have been the first time Gold was an option. It was the “Deep Purple” of that year ;) I can’t believe they didn’t have a single gold allotted for T-Mobile).

This year I didn’t even wake up early for pre-order, I had no alarm set— when I did wake up, I navigated to the store and then checked the forums and hemmed and hawed until someone assured me in-store trade-in wouldn’t be an issue if I did in-store pickup (wasn’t a sure thing last year with covid policies and such, seems like). Placed my order and I guess by not going Pro Max and not going Deep Purple, I was still able to get a day-of pickup time a couple hours after preorders started :)

I will pick up my 14 PM at 12:45pm, perfect to have lunch before. Store pickup feels more exciting and special to me! :)

UPS lost my last iPhone which was super annoying...waited several days for nothing.

@LaysC is right. In the experiences, Apple has always had two lines. As you arrive, an Apple employee asks if you're there for pick-up or other purchase. When you say pick-up, you get in a much shorter line that moves pretty quickly. Since they have the pick-ups in 15-minute-intervals, there are few people in that line. Usually get in during or just around window. Much easier than standing in a big lone line that doesn't move.

If you want to avoid some of the 'clogged' store, it's quicker if you just pick up the device and bail, set it up later on your own. Or you can linger, have the Apple person help you (especially if you have any e-sim or other issues) and just kinda watch the madness from within.

Enjoy!

If you mean trade in at Apple while you're picking up your new phone, yes. Unless they've changed the policy, I've done it many times.

Pick up set for 8:15am tomorrow for my 14 Pro Deep Purple 1TB. Going to try and pick up a watch as well since I was unable to order for in-store pick up.

Super excited indeed! Picking up my Gold iPhone 14 Pro Max tomorrow at the Apple Store within a window of 8:15 - 8:30 am.
I am glad I chose this method instead of having it shipped. I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of incessantly tracking my package to see where it is or if its been delayed; and then after all of that, making sure it doesn’t get delivered to the wrong home or stolen from your door.
