Just noticed Apple raised the price of the Mac Pro in the UK from £2,499 to £2,999. Madness.
Haha, YOU don't know what you need. THEY know what hardware you need. Their version of Pro and our version of Pro are apparently two very different things.
I think a lot of people aren't going to be sticking around till the next one?
What I find crazy is apple has a lot of people wanting their Mac products but instead that want to build a self driving car!?!?!
Why not give the people what they want! updated Mac Pro, mac mini and iMac! and a 5K apple display!!

I got 4k total in two gift cards...I got 5,1 and recent z-840. I personally don't know how I'm gonna go about this..because i'm currently learning to go adobe premiere from FCPX...(well...it's my main thing at the moment).
How would you go about those 2 gift cards....should I just spend it on mac pro 6,1 or should I sell them. I have receipts for it. I know the cards can be confirmed by apple store....
So what would you do?

The whole Mac Pro line will be inside the museum soon. The nMP is an antique now, of course Apple has to raise the price because of its historical value is increased

The GBP has fallen quite a bit. So unless we see price increases in other countries too, this is a currency adjustment for the GBP.

If you want to know how stupid the top people are at Apple, this event was a perfect demo.
To demonstrate Apple Pay and Touch ID, one of their top men went online and bought a ridiculous healing pyramid for the same price as an average family's monthly mortgage. You thought Steve Jobs was mad for trying to cure cancer with veggie juice? You thought Apple lost their mind when they promoted Belle Gibson's fake cancer cures?

That's the real problem they will face. Once the user base is eroded, hardware sales are gonna tank. It may take a few years but Apples best days are definitely behind us.
Well, you could:
A. Buy the nMP, keep it in the box and once you know which way you feel comfortable, you're covered (sell nMP as new or sell HP)
B. If you feel confident enough with HP and Premiere, you could sell the cards
It's a tough call since you just started on your learning path
I'm not doing video editing, or very occasionally, I'm in music and I know a 6,1 would be enough for me. I don't need PCI. It's just those 3 year old specs.... Despite today's "event", I still love my Apple gear and I guess I will continue to buy Apple, I like the ecosystem, OS X (yeah yeah the name, whatever
), etc... I've been using Macs for about 20 years I just don't see myself switching. If I had 4K of gift cards, I would probably get the trash can. Yes, I'm crazy I know But......damn!!!

I am beginning to think that they see the desktop market as shrinking to the point that they are going to move to portables as soon as they can. The iMac may very well be their last desktop as long as they feel they need it.But......damn!!!

I'm actually going to return my iPhone 7 tomorrow, my iPhone 6S is great and can't justify the £1100.....
My macs will last me at least 5 years, I can't justify the new prices....
