I'm not sure if these are supposed to be fan renders or an actual leak of official renders.

I really like these. Best way to not use a notch, but still look cool .

I still prefer the Note 10 renders just using a tiny pin hole for a notch in the middle top of the screen, but that probably wouldn't allow for the Google FaceID technology.

I would rather have a better zoom for close ups. I get outdoors a lot and would to have a better zoom for nature shots

I think I’d second this vote. A lot of my photos and videos are of my kids playing sports, which means they’re often on the other side of the field/court so it’s not possible to get any closer. And OIS on both please. :D

Definitely wide angle for me as I love that perspective when outdoors and sporting events.

I am hoping for an onscreen finger print scanner like the OP7 one which I really like.

Who am I kidding, waiting for a sale?? Will probably hope for the first big trade in offer for the 3XL and TRY to be patient. :)

I have to wait for a good deal of some sort this year. I might hold out for a third lens if Google doesn't do one this year. It would be really painful for me at this point to set aside my S10+ and its wide angle lens and switch back to even a dual lens Android. Unless by some miracle I will be able to use the top of the line iPhone with wide angle this year.

Also I'm loving the headphone jack and my wired buds too much. Though I did decide to wear my Samsung buds while scrubbing out litter boxes today. And the left one fell out into a litter box :rolleyes:

Fortunately it was one I had already cleaned out and put fresh litter in. Whew! I just had to wipe the dust off. Was not really dusty at all.

Any chance the Pixel 4 gets 90hz refresh rate like the 7 Pro?

And just overall, I want to see Google push the Pixel software to be as smooth and fluid fast as Oxygen OS .

And I want better battery life too please. My Pixel 3 XL get's ok battery life, not bad, not great. I hope they stuff in a huge battery, but also make the OS more efficient

Sadly no. As excited as I am to see what the Pixel 4 brings, I’m afraid it will again have that feeling of being overpriced compared to what you’re getting with other phones in the same price range. Hoping they prove me wrong though.

This article from Android Central makes me worried we may face another underwhelming year from Google: https://www.androidcentral.com/editors-desk-googles-looming-pixel-4-disappointment

The 4 won’t be horrible by any means, but it won’t feel enough like a 2019 product.

Basically it talks about how the leaks show a phone that shows Google thinks it can stick specs from a year or two ago on a new model phone and sell it based on software tricks (mostly in the camera) alone.

To some extent this is the crux of my frustration with the iPhone XR and 11r. At least where the camera lens offerings are concerned. But that can be overlooked in a phone that is supposed to be a more budget friendly offering.

We are talking about Google’s top of the line flagship still looking a bit unrefined. Pixels have gotten by so far on quirky charm and camera magic. But at this point in the game, for those flagship prices, I do expect more.

And do my eyes deceive— are the leaks showing a curved glass display? Please no. No, no no no.

I prize my Pixel 3XL’s flat display so much.

I won't get a curved display Pixel 4...... I prefer flat displays personally.

It’s astounding that a company as rich and powerful as Google continues to drop the ball when it comes to its own flagship—a flagship that is supposed to be the ultimate representation of Android.

I owned a Pixel 3 XL for three days before returning it and going back my iPhone 8 Plus. The phone had one too many issues. It’s supposedly the iPhone of the Android world, but that’s not what I experienced at all. After all the praise I’ve read about the Nexus/Pixel line, I realized that it isn’t that the Pixel is *good*; it’s that the Pixel is *better* than *bad* in comparison to other Android alternatives (though the OnePlus seems to be changing this narrative).

It’s really sad.

The Pixel 3 is only the 3rd proper Google Pixel iteration. So still young. So you think the Pixel 3 XL is a bad phone with too many issues but better than other Android phones? So all Android phones are bad?

Maybe with Jony Ive leave apple, Google will hire him for the p4 :eek:o_O

Can you imagine that!? :confused:o_O

Seriously though I think the pixel 4 is going to be a bit difficult for me to pick up when it's released. If I didn't have the 3xl it be a little different.

May try OP7 or 7t as something a bit different. And keep my XL 2 and 3 on hand.

I'm a [H]ardcore Nexus / Pixel guy, my first Android phone being the Nexus-One when it was new. I've owned 8 Nexus or Pixel phones since. And loved them.

I gave my wife my Pixel 2 XL and it's been flawless for almost two years. And my Pixel 3 XL working like a champ still. Zero issues, love these phones .

What other phone would I get instead? OnePlus and that's the only option. I wouldn't downgrade to an iPhone or side grade to a Galaxy.

Do it right the first time or don’t do it all. The way Android users defend Google/Pixel is amazing; people would be shredding Apple and OnePlus apart if they used that excuse for any shortcomings. And what was the Nexus? A trial run? If so, Google should have gotten it together with the first Pixel.

“So all Android phones are bad?”

Most, if not all, yes, though I am very curious about the 7 Pro. I just wish it wasn’t owned by a Chinese company.

Right there with ya. At this point, a curved display on a iPhone would even make this Apple fan ditch it. I despise curved displays that much.

This has pretty much been the narrative for Google’s line of phones dating back to the original Nexus One. Compromises every single year. While my Pixel 3XL is the best Google phone I’ve had (and I’ve had the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, 5, 6P, Pixel XL, 2XL, and 3XL), it still doesn’t measure up fully to other flagships. Without the stellar camera, it would be quite average at best.

The Pixel 3 is only the 3rd proper Google Pixel iteration. So still young. So you think the Pixel 3 XL is a bad phone with too many issues but better than other Android phones? So all Android phones are bad?

I’m sorry but this excuse doesn’t work any longer. Google has been putting out phones for almost 10 years now and as I mentioned earlier in this post, we’ve been dealing with their compromised, lackluster phone hardware this entire time. If they wan’t to seriously compete in the product range where they’re pricing their flagships, they need to get their **** together. There’s a reason why Google continues to struggle selling their phones and the quality of their hardware is a huge part of it, IMO.

Nobody makes a perfect phone, much less so on the first couple of attempts.

If you honestly believe all Androids are bad, why are you wasting your time in the Android section?

Why wouldn't I defend a Google Pixel? I had a Pixel 2XL for 10 months and it was a joy to use with the best camera around. And despite owning an iPhone XS Max that cost an eye watering £1,249, I prefer the 3a XL that cost less than half that.

We haven't had an actual leak of the front of the device yet, that I'm aware of -- only the back -- other than renders based on speculation. I've not seen any renders with a curved screen, though. That would be a deal breaker for me as well.

I still have my S8, and I can't stand the curved screen. If the Pixel 4 disappoints, I'll buy an S10e.

I don't like large devices -- which IMO anything over 150mm is just way too tall -- and I don't like curved screens. Because of that, OnePlus devices aren't of interest to me.

As far as phone size goes, I love the size and feel of the iPhone XR. (I don't like iOS though, so I don't see myself ever going back to iPhone for my personal device. I have to carry an iPhone 7 for work.)

Uhm, Google has had YEARS to get the Pixel (almost) right on the first attempt because of the Nexus line. All they did was rename the phone to Pixel. Excuses, excuses.

Not that I need to explain myself, but I’m on here because I’m genuinely interested in Android phones. Had a S8+ that disappointed me. Had 3 XL that disappointed me as well. I’m hoping that Google will prove me wrong with the 4. There’s nothing wrong with criticism. I criticize Apple constantly. That’s one reason why I frequent the Android section because I’m both happy and unhappy with the iPhone.
