My two cents:
I like the renders. And I really don't mind the larger forehead at all.
Keep the screen flat, don't bother with a notch, just increase battery, RAM and keep that camera the best around and you're good.

It's not rocket science for Google, IMO.
I think of people are wanting all singing all dancing, they need to look to Samsung. But in the end, they generally alllllways come back to Pixel.
Myself included. :D

I agree. But I like symmetry, so make the chin match. I don’t mind a pixel 2 xl front if we get stereo front facing speakers and a face id like unlocking system

I wonder if the symmetry issue is the one main reason I keep my XL 2 as my main device.

Anyone remember the Nexus 6 how weirdly offset the screen was? The XL 3 is also offset especially watching vids. I rarely zoom in.

The 4 don't look quite as bad. The op6 is also asymmetric. I've basically retired it. :(

I am really looking forward to the Pixel 4 more than any other phone this year. I might be the minority...but I would rather have a some bezel (symmetrical or not) than a notch or pop up front camera.
If this is the the Pixel 4 then bring it on!

Bezel > notch > pop up camera.

I know they’ll be a 2nd rear camera but I hope there’s other improvements in the camera department. A pro mode would be very welcome. Yes, it almost always takes a great picture but I miss being able to decide for myself how long the shutter stays open etc. And I really liked the light trails mode on the P30 Pro. The Pixel is widely regarded as the best smartphone camera, so it’s about time it had features to match.

Curious why people don't like the pop up camera like the OP7P?
I don’t understand why many people don’t, either. I like that it stays hidden (no NSA/Chinese/government snooping) and that the design isn’t in the way of the screen. Also, the likelihood of the camera failing/breaking is small.

I have the OP7P and I love the screen and camera set up, I barely take selfies and I use the fingerprint unlock so the front camera barely gets any action so I don't see it ever wearing out.

Are the latest rumors saying 3 lenses or 2 on the back? Not sure what exactly I’m seeing on the renders.

2 lenses, 1 flash and a tof sensor are the only rumours I've seen.
Oh bummer I was really hoping for 3 lenses. I’m thinking I’ll skip this one’s pre order release and wait for when they drop the price and I can get a good deal on it. I do think the renders look gorgeous, though.

But I’m not going to rush out to pay approximately $900 for something with no wide angle lens (that I’ve come to prize) when my Samsung is fully loaded with everything I could ask for and performs like a dream.

If they don’t put in state of the art specs, they at least have to meet me on price.

Samsung managed to do both for me this year. I’m thrilled with the price I got with my trade in and I’m thrilled with the 3 lenses...and the headphone jack.

I think it came out early November in the UK last year. And no doubt they'll be around £100 off come black Friday. Which isn't long to wait and I'm not desperate for a new phone. But if there's any kind of pre order freebie, impatience will get the better of me....

Probably unlikely for us UK’ers.
America will get it a month earlier, probably on some sort of buy one get 7 other Pixel 4’s free, plus $100 store credit and we will just get the phone.

How will the Pixel 4 XL compare to the OnePlus 7 pro?

Big Nexus / Pixel fan here, having owned almost all Nexus phones, and the Pixel 2 XL and now the 3 XL, and only owned the original OnePlus One, but I have to say, that beast had a long life, with ROM's it performed very well for several years, a good 3+ years later the OPO was still fast and smooth. But the stock Android experience doesn't seem as cool as it used to, seems a little laggy sometimes, or not as warp speed smooth.

Whereas Oxygen OS is super fast, extreme smooth, and has extra tweaks and more customization baked in. OnePlus phones are sort of like a Pixel that's running a custom ROM and customer tweaked kernel.

So this is how I see it playing out;

- Pixel 4 XL wins in the camera department easily, and of course first for updates direct from Google. And the little things like wireless charging and official IP68 rating.

- OnePlus 7 Pro wins other areas; smoother faster OS experience. Maybe better display screen. Faster charging. More customization baked in.

OnePlus 7 Pro has a wide-angle lens. That is a +1 if the 2nd lens on Pixel 4 is telephoto. Oxygen OS is great. Google is finally adding accent colors, and it's nice to see they're making Android a little more like Oxygen OS.

The HUGE downside to me is the curved screen, though. Even if they had released it in a smaller size, I still wouldn't buy it due to that.

Is there a full spec list for the 4 XL yet? RAM amount 6GB or 8GB? Battery size hopefully 4,000mAh or higher. And please Google no curved edge screen.

In theory and in opinion(which is a touchy subject around here and very personal :))

The Pixel 4 if proposed without any spec details will win in camera, waterproofing, wireless charging.

The OP7Pro wins in every single other category in my own opinion.

I say this only in comparison to what we have in the OP7 in front of us and a blend of the 3XL and what's to possibly come in the 4XL.

Totally irrelevant as we dont know the details of anything spec wise or screen at this point but an educated guess on how Pixel lacks in design/tech for addition of a 90hz screen would be my guesses above.

The OP7Pro is by far the best Android phone I have used that has 95% of what I want in a smart phone....with lacking area being the camera.

Just my take, dont shoot me!!! :)
