I guess it's quite obvious that its only a war between Google and Apple on the market that is left nowadays. Fun fact: In the past, Iphones had an amazing results in making photos. What we can see now, that Google has now one of the best phones to make photos and Iphones have greater capabilities to make a video. Interesting, huh
[doublepost=1563547680][/doublepost]By the way, whats wrong with the Notch? Why people prefer more bezels than notches?

I think Huawei would strongly disagree. While I prefer the pictures from Pixels and video from iPhones, Huawei have an overall fantastic camera system. Amazing zoom, better night mode than Google, wide angle plus lots of other features. And EMUI is getting better all the time.

Oh and Samsung are still putting out great devices that are just as good as any other manufacturer.

Big Frankenstein monster forehead, a step back in design. Looks dated, like a Pixel 2 XL, from two years ago, not a next gen future phone.

I'll use my wife's 2 XL once in awhile, and immediately the big top bezels jump out at me, being outdated and old looking.

And then I go back to my 3 XL and it looks new and futuristic . Yeah the notch sucks, but in most apps and websites with a dark or black header the notch fades away, and the clock and status bar stuff is at the upper most edge of the phone, looking cool like an edge to edge screen, abd going back to the 2 XL bezel feels super old and ugly .

I agree. Besides the notch, I think the Pixel 3 XL is so elegant looking and feeling. Google is going backwards and it’s really, really sad. I’m flabbergasted that there are people who are defending the Pixel 4’s design. The damn thing looks unbelievably dated.

Looks like we will get 6 gb RAM. I was seriously worried they'd stick with 4.

https://www.techradar.com/news/goog...-first-ram-upgrade-as-well-as-a-bigger-screen

The listed resolutions for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are identical to S10e and S10/S10+, with a ratio of 19:9.

The more I think about it, the happier I am that they went with this forehead design rather than having the hole-punch design of the S10. The hole-punch camera is just a stop-gap feature anyway. A notch, a hole-punch, and a curved screen are all negatives IMO.

From my perspective -- looking at side-by-side images of Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 4 XL -- the 4 XL looks like the 3 XL, except without a notch and then flipped upside down. So there is more screen real estate in a device about the same size, and no obtrusive notch.

The S10 looks more modern in comparison, but then the hole-punch is distracting, especially on the larger S10+.

I still think the Note 10 notch is the best way to go .Very minimal and tiny, while allowing the screen to go edge to edge looking very modern.

The 4 XL renders look like an old back up design from 2017 they are reusing.

I like the small hole punch in the Note 10 as well. But the Pixel has to house 2 front cameras and it's looking like some kind of face ID type tech, so the hole punch would be pretty big to house all that and not as appealing.

That looks awesome to me! I don't mind the extra bezel at the top to be honest.
I just want a bigger battery and more lenses as rumored.
Imagine what Google can do with dual lens and better zoom with an already best in class camera!

I think it looks better than a notch or hole punch. I don't want things interfering with my screen. Been using the iPhone X for awhile and I'm used to the notch but it still seems pointless to me.

my thoughts too. I am used to the notch on my Xs Max and P3XL...I guess we can get used to about anything over time.
I don't mind a little bezel if it gets rid of the notch.

Got pretty big bezels on my 3a XL and they don't bother me. So if the 4XL ones look like the renders, they certainly won't. Especially if the top houses tech worth having.

Who am I joking my last few phones have been the Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 2 XL, and Nexus 6P. Most likely see a 4 XL in near future.

yeah I've had some ****** phones in between like the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ those phones blew

I would totally get the OnePlus 7 Pro but two major things are deal killers for me. #1 the curved edge screen is not for me. #2 not a deal breaker but still disappointed no AoD ( Always on Display ). If the 7 Pro had a flat screen like the iPhoneXS Max and had AOD I would have bought that and not looked at another phone for a year or two .

I'm not sure if the bezel on the 4 XL is for FaceID? I think it's for some new sonar technology you wave your hand in front of it to control certain parts of the phone?

But then again with no fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone anymore how do you unlock it? Either in-screen thumbprint technology or a FaceID type thing .

One thing I do like on the Pixel 4 is they finally got rid of the bezel on bottom, screen goes all the way to bottom, will make the phone more modern.

Google please stuff in a huge battery in the 4 XL.

I'll take bezels over bloat! :)

Would prefer better symmetry even if it means XL 2 type of bezels. Just personal preference :)

Right now my next (pocket tablet) is either the OP7 pro (or 7t pro max super duper mega Disney magical.... Inane superlative descriptor ) or pixel 4 XL.

Other phones are about to the point they are not on my radar.

I hear ya. I'm pretty much an Apple/Google/OnePlus guy now. Hardly look at anything else.

Only Android phones I'll ever buy are Google Nexus / Pixel phones, or OnePlus. Nothing else. I really do not see the point of Android phones that don't run stock or close to stock like OnePlus and Android One phones. Lagwiz nope. HTC Sense nope. LG whatever nope. MIUI nope. Google spends a lot of time and money making stock Android, and it should be that way on all phones, not duplicate apps, not copycat apps, no gimmicks, just pure vanilla

And iPhone yeah no. Unless iOS gets a massive much needed overhaul. I do like Apple's hardware they create the best hardware no arguing, and they build beautiful phones, top notch. But man iOS is just not for me, unless Jailbreaked which helps a ton, but still not quite there

Have you checked out the 7 Pro at T-Mobile? Surprisingly, the curve isn’t too bad.

Well, they are putting so much tech on top of the phone that you simply can't have a notch. A fully utilized forehead with tech is more useful than a very tiny bit of extra screen real estate in my opinion. See the cutout for sensors below:

Even if they tried to decrease the space with sensors, even with the best you could do it for a notch, the notch "ears" in that case would be so small that it would look very stupid, and it'd be better to just leave the forehead.
