Prefer not to go third party because last time left me sour. I'm in no hurry to buy a new phone, until I get a phone breaking update...

Not on Verizon. Last time I bought a phone from best buy, I got stuck with a bill after returning the unopened device the same day.

As I said, I've been soured by third parties

Seems pretty poor to me though. I thought people were a getting respectable 6/7 hours screen time from the 4XL.

Some people might get that, others won't.

I think with the Pixel 4 in particular, if you disable Motion Sense and don't use certain things, I'm sure 6 hours is achievable.

Right now, since it's only been a few days, I'm still just keeping everything on full blast to get the full experience.

Google will have to sort out battery life on the 5, as I would think it'll be 5G capable. Which if they don't seriously increase battery size, it would be their worst performing battery yet.

So, I was skeptical of the pixel 4, which is why I didn't get it when it first came out. But Verizon had it for $10/month, $240 overall, and couldn't pass that up and picked one up yesterday. All I have to say is wow, very under rated phone.

Much better than I thought it would be. Battery is my only complaint so far, but we'll see how it goes once it calibrates.

Was that a trade in deal or new customer? Great deal!

New customer deal, plus I'm going to get an additional $500 credit for trade in. So overall they'll be paying me $260 to get the Pixel 4.
Out of curiosity, what phone do you trade in to get $500? I keep reading about all these awesome trade in deals whereas here in Sweden the trade in values are always far lower than the actual resale value. To get $500 anywhere I would need to trade in basically an early 2019 flagship.

Trading in a cheap pixel 3 I found on eBay for $95. Showed the listing to the Verizon reps before ordering and they all said I would get $500 for it. Here is the deal on Verizons website.

Sounds like the Pixel 4 might be getting 4k at 60hz soon.

Also, leaks are saying the Pixel 5 will have a mid-range chipset and not the 865. Wondering if Google are finally bailing on trying to make a flagship.

Google bails on everything. They make a good or promising product that is always a few clicks away from being just what we wanted, halfazz it a couple of clicks closer but sometimes screw something else up, then see a squirrel and drop everything to chase the squirrel. Sigh. It's what they do.

LOL that’s why the Google graveyard exists

Honestly I’d probably pick up the 4a, has the best looking front of any pixel so far.

You’re right though they’re like a kid with ADHD can only focus on something for so long. I’ll be surprised if Soli lasts past the Pixel 5.

I really think at $649, the Pixel 4XL is the best deal out there right now. The 3a was nice but I really missed the wireless charging. I’m guessing the 4a won’t have it either or the 90hz. At the current price, I don’t mind spending less than $200 more than the 4a XL.

I very luckily got a great deal on a 4 XL 2 weeks ago on eBay... Just over £400.

At that price, the 4a XL just doesn't make sense, especially as prices should continue to fall over the next 2 months. Definitely glad I went ahead.

Doesn't look like they'll be a 4a XL anyway, only a 4a. I considered a new 128gb XL on eBay today which eventually went for £547 which is a good price. 64gb is just too stingy.

Oh wow no 4a XL? Didn't hear about that one.

£547 for 128GB is a good price! I'm going to get a Pixel XL every 2 years now, so hopefully this is it until 2022.

Yeah, 5.8" I believe. Which falls in between the 3a & 3a XL sizes.

Can get the 64gb 4XL for £518 open but not used on eBay. Which is still decent, but it's black and much prefer the white.

Sounds like the March update have the screen brightness a nice boost outdoors when directly in sun. You must be using Adaptive brightness.

I've seen a 64gb 4 XL, open but not used from a regular phone seller on eBay for £470. Very tempted at that price. Same guy is selling the same in 128gb for £650. Not a terrible price, but not quite the bargain of the 64gb.
