Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on sale today at Tmobile.com. $399 for the 4 and $499 for the 4 XL. No new line needed and you can pay full price (399/499) and have it unlocked in 40 days.

I ordered the 4 XL. At this price it can be a backup if need be.

Yep, going to pick one up here shortly. I can deal with 64gb for that price. Should hold me over until Black Friday or until the S20’s line price drops.

I'm really tempted to jump on the T-Mobile P4XL deal and just wait to try the S20+ when the prices ultimately drop. The problem is, I had the 4XL for 2 weeks when the price dropped around Black Friday and thought the phone overall wasn't very fluid or smooth (event with 90 Hz forced on all the time). My Note 10+ at the time was so much more fluid and just better to use.

For those of you who have had the 4XL since launch and still use it today, has it gotten better over time with updates? Maybe I had a lemon but my experience left a lot to be desire from stock Android. and currently, I'm quite loving One UI 2.0 on the Note 10+ and now the S10+. It's so incredibly smooth and quick everywhere.

I had it and it was solid. Maybe a couple hiccups here and there but nothing major at all.

Oh whatever you all do, don’t get rid of cloud storage. I’ve had a friend lose everything in an electrical fire at their house. And everything that was stored locally on their pc was gone forever. Years and years of photos.

Another friend had their house flooded. I’ve had a pipe burst in my house the first year we were here and didn’t know there was an outdoor tap we failed to close. If my husband had made a certain room his office instead of just a tv room, he would have lost everything on his computer.

Do local AND cloud.

Or if you’re excessively paranoid about your photo library like me, do local, and another local, and cloud, another cloud, another cloud and yet another online total backup solution. ;)

I went back to iPhone because I always do. But at this price it was tempting. Unfortunately Best Buy wouldn’t price match.

yeah, I'm in a season where I prefer android to iOS but I definitely miss my Apple Watch. I really hope iOS allows some more customization and freshes things up this fall... but I doubt it.

I picked one up. Just finished setting everything up. I'm hoping since it's been a while since I tried last time Google will have hammered out some of the battery issues. Unfortunately the only version they have is 64GB but I honestly don't store much data locally.

So far the only annoyances are ones I knew about. Password manager integration sucks on Android. That and the cursor control on the iPhone keyboard is much better. Otherwise nothing big so far. For $500, this should work fine. I'll probably be able to sell it around Black Friday this year without much of a loss.

Looks like they are now 50% / 44% off respectively for the P4 / XL @ T-Mobile. That is a hell of a deal. I might grab the P4 just to have something a little smaller than my XL, which I absolutely love.

One thing you’ll enjoy is that Android apps usually take up a little less storage space than iPhone apps.

All my apps are installed now and I'm 38% full on storage. A little higher than I'd like but it should be fine. Apps size will swell a bit over time but OS size won't change much. I turned on space saver so Google will automatically delete pics and videos that have already been backed up to the cloud. As long as I don't save too many songs or podcasts locally I should be fine.

Do you guys still keep forced 90hz on? It seems like they've scaled it so it automatically uses it most of the time with it left dynamic.

This is a hell of a deal for the Pixel 4.

I just wish I had a desire to tinker right now, but I don't. Still, if anyone has been on the fence NOW'S THE TIME!!!

I wish the phone itself was more compelling. Hopefully, Google learns from this and makes the phone more desirable in the future.

Thank you, no these were totally done on the fly, while it was snowing and Lady my dog not in the mood to sit and pose LOL. I had like one second to snap each pic.

She's a great dog, really the best family dog. Lady's a shelter dog, adopted her 8 years ago, and that time was probably a year or two old, so she's about 9 or 10 years old. Half Lab / half Husky so they said.

To really appreciate the detail you need to view these pictures on a computer monitor, a smartphone doesn't show them off large enough with all the details.

I know a lot of people declared the iPhone the camera champ this year and because of versatility it's hard to argue that. But when it comes to just point and shoot camera use, the pixel is still the best. I have to actually try to get a blurry shot.

Being back on Android some other minor annoyances that I had forgotten about...no systemwide as blocking unless I want to root or funnel through a VPN. That and apple OS animations are much more fluid. Even an a higher refresh screen, Android unlock and transition animations just don't look or feel as fluid. Same with OS navigation. It's not clunky, but it's not as smooth. Oh and the systemwide dark mode needs a lot of work. But this is just nitpicking. The overall experience has been good so far.
