Quick poll since I’m having second thoughts about returning the Pixel 4XL. This ends at 5pm tonight:

A. Just return it. You know you’ll go back to Apple a week later.

B. Switch to the Pixel and ship up already.

C. You’re f*cking crazy and need serious help.

Thanks for your input.
Well A...you know you love the iPhone and will miss it and end up coming back :)
You have done this in the past and went back to your iPhone. Nothing wrong with that of course.
I think you are just having some FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

and then well C fits all of us!!!

Very valid points! The one side note is that I tried it, went back to iPhone, and literally can’t bring myself to return it as planned today.

And I definitely won’t carry 2 phones on me.

And ps. Haha on C. Got that right!

I vote for option A. It already interfered with your work. Unlikely to be a big deal, but it's an issue nonetheless.

We all fall under option C.

I propose option D. Keep the Pixel 4 XL, sell your iPhone 11 Pro Max for a very good price. I know you say keeping two phones is not a solution but think about it. Pick up a cheap refurb iPhone SE / 7 / 8 in case you really need iOS. Much easier than ruminating about whether to keep both phones, return one, re-buying, etc...It is about peace of mind and not wasting your time.

How much does the money matter to you? That’s what it comes down to for me.

I would love to own an Android alongside my iPhone, but last time I did that it kind of hurt when I realized my little fun time had cost me 400€ for 6 months of playing around with the 6T. That how much it had dropped in price. So in hindsight it wasn’t worth it.

And I tried giving up the iPhone for a few months but I ended up missing too much stuff, so one of each is the only way I’ll be able to use an Android for the foreseeable future.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that maybe it’ll help you decide if you just quickly calculate how much your choice will cost you in cash. That might put things in perspective.

This is of course assuming that you’re kind of in the same boat as me regarding the iPhone. Which I would guess that you are from having read your posts in general.

Also it seems to be a rule of thumb that anyone who isn’t sure if they’ll be able to live without an iPhone - always ends up finding out they can’t.

If however the money doesn’t matter and you can afford keeping both while losing a good chunk of the 2nd hand value of the Pixel - I’d say the question is moot. Then just keep em both and enjoy. As I’m sure the Pixel will be a great phone to use.

Those are some great points man. The other variable is that I could use some extra cash and I would come out quite ahead because my original plan was to sell my Apple stuff. I have some expenses coming up and my car’s breaks started rumbling this morning. But trying not to let that influence me too much.

You know the answer is going to be highly contingent on where you ask that question. Ask it here, amongst predominantly big proponents of Android and it’s bound to skew towards B. Go over to the iPhone forum and it will almost certainly be A.

Just go with your gut. Nobody here knows what you prefer better than you.;)

Hmmmmm on my white P4XL I have the white doodle wallpaper. I wonder if you get the different colors depending on the color of your phone?

Anyway here is the orange one...

pixel-4-doodle-orange-droidviews

Thanks, but I am looking for the "Live wallpaper". And apparently each color version of the Doodle live wallpaper comes with the different color Pixel 4's, Clearly White gets a cream color Doodle wallpaper, and the Oh So Orange gets the orange live wallpaper, and the 3 different Pixel 4's get the Dark color when Dark mode is enabled.

But I thught there was soe hack to get the Ornage live one on all phones, or some .apk ?

I just tried and found the .apk from XDA but it won't install. I have unknown sources all allowed from my browser, etc. Curious to see if anyone has got this to work.
