How do you guys think the ultra wide on the P5 comapares to the iPhone 11 Pro? I want to try out the P5 but I use my ultra wide lens a lot for work.

Almost certainly not as good on the Pixel. I've compared the wide angle on the Pixel to a Note 10+ and as expected, I'm disappointed the field of view is much more narrow.

That is interesting. Is it just because the Note is wider or is overall quality not as good?

Yeah I was just watching video today and P5 wide was not as much captured than other phone ...

The FOV on the Pixel wide angle just isn't very wide from what I remember, compared to Apple and Samsung's offerings.

I commented in this thread before release I was disappointed when I saw the degree of the ultrawide. Tested last night with my Note 10+ and the difference was pretty big. I did notice a little less distortion on the edges of the Pixel shot. But for landscapes, that effect sometimes looks pretty cool.

Haven't taken any real pics yet because the weather is rubbish. Sold my Note as well.

I will be interested to see and hear your results... True sometimes these wide shots are too much like the Note but nice to have it if needed...

I searched the thread and couldn’t find anyone that came from the 4a. Did anyone make that move? If so, do you feel as if it’s worth the extra $350 (US prices)?

Another good review after 1 week of real world use. This guy says he easily gets 7h SoT, and the performance is smooth and snappy, and the camera takes amazing pictures, and the bezels being very minimal and symmetrical makes the front face of the phone look and feel very modern;

The Pixel 5 truly does just seem like a good smartphone Yes it's simple and basic but gets to the point No flashy stuff and it does not have all the bells and whistles.

But if you want a phone with great battery life and excellent camera a smooth fluid OS an easy to one hand use

Pixel 5 seems like probably the best all around phone that use can use without a case.

iPhone 11 Pro without a case I don’t think you wanna take that chance, the pixel is plastic, lite, small and performs pretty damn good.

I like my iPhone but practicality without a case for the size and weight and curved edges is a non no. I’m becoming a smarter consumer with age and thank god for that.

I think it will be a great phone for plenty of peeps.. It gets the job done and one thing I've always loved it's integration with daily tasks.. It's fluid.. I'm all in with Google apps and no better way to use them than on a Pixel

But isn’t that the standard for Pixels... a good smartphone, simple... basic, no flashiness. Gets to the point. When critics get to the point of trying to nick pick and examine the missing features... that’s when the Pixel falls short.

I think the biggest issue with the Pixel 5 is what MKBHD touched on briefly towards the end of his video. While everything feels buttery smooth today, I'm not sure it will feel so good after a year or so. Especially if Google goes back to using flagship Snapdragon processors with Pixel 6 and optimises Android 12 around that next year.

For those who didnt watch the MKBHD video, he says it's a good and great phone. And he says he won't be using it because he prefers flagship features.

That said, he also says Google put in a masterclass and how to get the most out of mediocre hardware with great software. Also says it should be $100 less which seems to be the general consensus in every review.

So what phone is Marques going too then? Sounds like he wants highest end Snapdragon, lots of RAM, and fast 120hz screen. Only phones that do that top notch today are the One Plus 8 Pro and Note 20 Ultra, those are the two power kings this year, I think.

Or is he secretly an iPhone guy?

I was wondering that, too. I think he’s been leaning more towards iPhone nowadays. He’s definitely not a Note user, and I doubt he’s happy with the direction OnePlus is going. Who knows.

It may have been on a podcast with Dieter, but I heard him say he was using the Oneplus 8 pro as his daily driver.

That's my first guess the 8 Pro, I know he likes big phones, plus that has all the high end hardware and a close to stock Android OS

That really surprises me. He really bigs OnePlus up.
I guess you can't buy taste... :p
I kid I kid! I just find it odd that he wouldn't use a phone that had as close to perfect features whereas there is always some sort of compromise with OnePlus, even in their 'flagship'.

Although I take it all with a huge pinch of salt as the guy never takes his Appls Watch off (like all reviewers it seems) so there's no way he isn't maining an iPhone all year round too.

Being someone with larger hands, I'd have thought MKBHD wouldn't like the size of the Pixel 5 as much as other larger phones.

He’s always either pixel or one plus guy but always has an iPhone like every YouTuber it seems

dont think it’s a secret he’s an iphone user when he always has an Apple Watch on ha
