Just received this today. Set it up and it's been good so far.
Haven't taken any pictures yet. Overall feels good to have smaller phone in hand. My 4xl was too big for me.

How do you like the color in person? I really wanted to go green, but no one had it out to view when I went to purchase.

I really like it. Back feels good without case. I probably go without case. Color is quite unique for a phone. I don't think any other phone has this color.

Even though I went back to the 4 XL, ONLY due to the earpiece speaker, which totally sucked on my Pixel 5 and almost useless for phone calls. But I still kept the Pixel 5, I might give to my son, for his first smartphone.

But playing around with the Pixel 5 this week as a WiFi phone, I have to say the battery life is insane, so great, I know it's on WiFi only, but it last me a good 3+ days, as just a house WiFi phone. And everything about the phone is very nice, the size is extremely comfortable, the display seems a bit brighter and overall a little nicer than my 4 XLs.

Only two knocks on this for me, the earpiece speaker blows, phone calls sound tinny and cheap like coming out from a baby's plastic play toy phone. And I do see a very slight lag or little hiccup in browsing and doing some tasks on the phone, that I don't get on my 4 XL. I would say the Pixel 4 XL is smoother less lag than the Pixel 5, but slightly, not saying the Pixel 5 is a laggy phone, no.

When I use the Pixel 5 around the house for a few hours, then go back to my Pixel 4 XL, the 4 XL just seems HUGE gigantic, then I'll use the 4 XL for awhile get used to it again, and go back to the Pixel 5 and it seems small like a toy phone. It's funny how we adjust to a phone's size after an hour of use.

I will say, I really like the front design of the Pixel 5, I mean the all screen minimal bezel, and the bezels are equal on all four sides looks very nice.

Just got my sage Pixel 5 yesterday so far enjoying it. I think the speakers could be better i do make a lot of phone calls or teams meeting on my phone. So speakers are a must for me. Let's see how I get along
I still have my 4 XL as a backup.

Curious to hear your review, I really like the Pixel 5, the smaller size gets comfortable almost immediately, and the front of the phone, with the minimal bezels looks so modern. It's a nice phone to have in your hand, not a huge tablet size Plus or Max.

But the only two issues for me, were the earpiece speaker for phone calls were bad, and an ever so light lag here and there on the phone, I don't see on my Pixel 4 XL.

Yes loving it so far. Don't find any major difference between this and the very expensive iPhone 12 pro other than the poor speaker quality of pixel 5

So I'm returning my iPhone 12 pro.

I'm a lifelong Nexus / Pixel user, having owned 9 of them, and have had 3 iPhone's, and then a bunch of HTC and Samsung Android phones. Was contemplating going to a 12 Pro Max, just to spice things up and have change, but worried a week into I would be frustrated with iOS like always, and be upset I ditched my Pixel.

But I do love te build quality and design pf the new iPhone 12 line, and the bright displays. And iOS 14 adding widgets now, and some other updates, would maybe make iOS a bit easier to like now?

I think you might hate it even more because the resemblance to Android, with the widgets and all that, is very superficial and you’d be even more infuriated at what you can’t do with them. I’m not even really bothering with them all that much and leaving them on the usual widget page.

I returned my own 12 Pro because it caused incredible pain to my hand because it’s top heavy and poorly balanced. I’m on a regular 12 now and my hand is rapidly recovering back to normal. I was sporting an arthritic claw for a couple of days and felt old beyond my years. I see from comments sprinkled around the forum that I wasn’t the only one to suffer like that.

Don’t get me started on how fast the shiny sides picked up fingerprints. I hope one of the first improvements Apple makes to next year’s model is to go to a brushed finish. I’m still likely to stick to the aluminum models, though, so it’s moot to me, I guess.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked the 12 pro. It just wasn’t a good fit for me. I don’t know for sure that you would not get along on an iPhone 12 of some sort. But having paid attention to your posts over the last few years I fear it likely that iOS will annoy you more than ever. And 14 is still a little buggy.

I didn't mind iPhone 12 pro. But i couldn't justify myself the cost considering I love the pixel 5 de as iPhone. So returning the iPhone today and keep th additional CAD700!!

Anyone else noticing thier Pixel 5 getting hot during basic things like app installs or video recording?
Yes! I was streaming video for about 20-30 minutes (YouTube TV) and the top 1/3 of the phone was uncomfortably hot. I waited an hour and tried again and had the same result. I've never noticed a phone of my getting this hot during video playback or video recording.

Well, Google's done it again. If I try and record 4k video, within a few minutes the Pixel 5 is burning up. To the point where it stops the recording and says the phone is too hot.

Even when they go midrange they screw up hardware. Ugh, so frustrating that software this good is always paired with mediocre hardware with issues. Guess this one is going back.

That stinks. May be worth giving it the November update to see if it's fixed, then send back.

I thought so too, but it's still happening after the Nov patch.

Most phones will get pretty warm when doing multiple minutes of 4k.

I have a $1500 mirrorless camera that shuts down if I do over a couple minutes of 4k video also.

Pretty warm is one thing. Hot enough to cause the phone to stutter and recording to stop? No, that's shouldn't happen. I've never had that issue on any of my Samsung's or iPhones.

I haven't received the November update yet? Has everyone else? I'm on Verizon.

The last time I remember having that issue on a phone was my second Note 7. I’m pretty sure that one was going to have heat issues anyway.

I’m really sorry to hear this. I had high hopes that with the commitment to simplicity, that Google could focus more on quality. They can’t just say “well for this price, what do you expect?” Because Apple and Samsung and other companies still manage reliable quality on their mid range models.

I recently recorded 5 full minutes of 4K video on my SE and had no problems. I recorded 90 minutes of 4k (school musical) on my iPhone 7 Plus once. It got a little hot but not enough to shut down.

All of my phones do get very hot if I’ve been using them to take a lot of HDR photographs. And I haven’t tried HDR Dolby vision video recording yet.

Definitely noticed a bit of warmth on mine as well, but it’s pretty rare. Doesn’t really seem like something I’d expect during normal tasks, even from a lower-powered chip.
