Ok, regardless of the status of the Ultra as it’s own product line, the situation is still mirrored at Samsung, specifically in regards to the camera. If your sister wanted the upgraded camera experience on a Samsung, her only option would be the biggest phone.
I think you’re still missing the point completely, but as you say, we digress. 🙂

FLAT display #1. But from what I have read it won't be flat like an iPhone or Nothing Phone flat, but more like earlier Pixel's with a slight curved edge. I would rather it have a true FLAT screen like an iPhone. But oh well...

Hopefully rumors are correct with Tensor 3 being more efficient with better battery life, and runs cooler.

As far as trade-ins? Best Buy typically seems to have the best ones.

I think Google’s own trade in valuations (speaking for UK) have been pretty good.
Did I see something that said the back of the Pixels this year will be matte / frosted glass? Hope so, as the shiny finish of previous years is wearing thin now.

I wonder if google will try to do the same apple did with the iphone pro 15 max, give the 128 gb version the chop, just sell the 256 gb version and pretend like they didn't raise the price of the phone 😮‍💨

Pathetic video. So excited over nothing, looks like the last 3 generations of iPhones

It's not worth getting so pumped for. Total first world bullcrap when humans get so excited over a minor upgrade where the previous version does the exact same thing.
I think he’s just picking up on the energy from the gathering. A lot of those people know each other and are excited just to be there and see other people in their line of work that they don’t get to see often. And I think they all turn up the energy levels for their on air personas. This isn’t exactly how they are in day to day life.

One of the parents my husband and I knew from years ago from our kids sporting events is a radio personality and his real life demeanor is nothing like his on air personality. It’s not the same person at all. He’s very low energy and introverted in real life. We all quickly learned to give him plenty of space and just nod a greeting and leave him be.

How do you get an additional 12% off from Rakuten?
I have an extension on my Safari browser and my Chrome browser but if you don't go to Rakuten website then search Samsung and hit the link it will activate when you shop on Samsung.. assuming you have a Rakuten account set up ...

If you don’t have an account sign up through my link and we each get $30 for your first purchase

Hey! I’m using Rakuten to get Cash Back at my favorite stores. Hate for you to miss out, so join now with my invite and get $30 after you spend $30. See Terms. www.rakuten.com/r/FELIXD262?eeid=44971

So this is the first year I’m contemplating not buying the Pixel 8 upon launch.

I’ve had two years with the 6 Pro and 7 Pro and I love the devices, but my other devices have changed a little over the last year which is making me look to go all in with Apple for the first time in an age.

Essentially, I have AirPod Pros (2) which music just sounds SO much better through with Apple Music / Dolby Atmos, vs the Pixel Bud Pros. I do have Sony over ears for when I want a good listening experience on my Pixel, but they hurt my ears and I don’t last long when I wear them.
I listen to music daily so it’s a big one for me and I’ve found Apple Music to be a better app than Spotify which I switched to when I bought an iPad Pro back in Spring. Apple Music on Android is just ok. But better on an Apple device. An example: when I create a play list and then add a track to it, on iPhone it gives a message to say “added to playlist”. You can then click on the message on an iPhone and it takes you to said playlist where I often then edit the playlist. With Apple Music on android it tells you the track has been added but I then can’t click the message to go to the playlist. I have to go back through all the tabs and menus to get to it. Small thing, but frustrating.

Also, I have a Mini Countryman I got new last year. Android doesn’t have the same widgets as Apple, so when I plug the car in (it’s a hybrid), the Apple widget shows me the charging status meaning I don’t have to go into the app. With Android I have to physically load the app which frustrates me.
To add to this, Mini’s also don’t support Android Auto, but with my iPhone 14 I have CarPlay and when I switch back to android I HATE not having CarPlay.

The only thing I’m torn on is whether I go 15 or Pro. I like the 15 updates. But it’s that camera situ that’s bugging me. I like a telephoto. And the Pro Max one looks good. Finally a zoom in an iPhone!
But I still think they’re scumbags for not including it in the smaller Pro. So I’m very torn. I also love my iPhone 14. So I guess I could just keep my 14 and then buy a Pixel, but it doesn’t then detract from the above as I’m not one for two phones at once. Just doesn’t work. I’m using my 14 now after selling the Pixel Fold and I’m really enjoying being on an iPhone. Apart from the camera which is crap. If the Pro Max gives a camera experience that’s closer to the Pixel then I could see me making the switch.

I would for iPhone 15 Max and call it a day ...try to keep away from Pixel for now ..your usage and combo with everything favors the iPhone ...Go All in ..

I’ve been trying to like Apple Music because it’s included in our Apple One plan and I like the interface, but holy **** the auto generated playlists are terrible. I keep trying to give it more feedback and time, but the songs it thinks I’ll like are so far off the mark it’s insane. I just find YouTube music so much better in that regard, plus I like all the live songs from YouTube that are included. But Apple Music sound quality is noticeably better.

I’ve used YouTube music for a while because I have YT Premium so it’s included. It was pretty awful at first but it’s gotten a lot better. But the interface is still kind of crap. So I attempted to switch over to Apple Music and it’s been a few months and I’m back on YT music. I couldn’t tell you how many times I would have an automated playlist on and it was start with a few songs I “liked” and then for some reason throw in Taylor Swift or some new rapper I’ve never heard of. And this music couldn’t be further from what I listen to or the songs I’ve “liked”. Apple Music algorithms are just terrible.

Everybody knows that I like to shop and I shop everywhere it's no secret lmfao let them invade and while they add it send me some more sales
Yup- no shame for me in getting another $84 off of the cost BAM! lol

Ended up right around $650 total which is no too bad. Assuming I can kill extraneous bloatware and the cameras are better than OP 8T then it should be worthy hehe

I used to love Google Music. They made me up a play list that just blew me away. And then they killed it. I don't really mess around with YouTube music. I guess I should give them more of a chance but I already had what I liked and they took it away. Stupid Google.

Good luck my friend getting what you will enjoy most. It is always fun to see what you will try next.

@drinkingtea is also becoming quite adventurous with phone choices. It's fun to see all of this.
