do you know any other platforms that allow free esim swaps? i'm on mint mobile and the guy below you mentioned that esim swaps is not free on mint. any plans similar to mint mobile in terms of pricing that allow free daily esim swaps? would love to swap esims for free every few days between my pixel 6a and my iphone se2.
Google Fi does for compatible phones.

Pixel 8a gets a good review. Very tempted as it would only be as a second phone and I keep trying to replace my OnePlus 6 that’s getting on for 6 years old. Especially as somethings gone wrong with its screen, you can no longer alter its brightness it just stays the same dull light, not sure what that’s all about.Like how compact it as a handset the 8a is.

Only thing is Amazon is offering a Pixel 8 with Google Buds Pro all for £569. Which to me is a really good deal especially over 12 month payments. Also I see the Pixel 8 is smaller even still than the 8a.

That's a great deal on the Pixel 8 with the buds!

Have had my SIM in my Pixel 8 Pro most of May. And I have to say I'm just extremely comfortable and satisfied with this phone.

Yes the Galaxy S24 Ultra I also have is an overall better spec'd phone, no question. It's faster and smoother. Has much better battery life. Has a sharper richer display, etc... The S24U is a fantastic smartphone, top of the line.

But call me crazy, there's just something special with the Pixel UI that's feels nicer and enjoyable to use. I just like grabbing this Pixel on the go and find it easier to use and more fun if that makes any sense.

Plus features like Call Screening and certain specific Google Pixel only features are very nice to have.

The past month my Galaxy S24 Ultra has been sitting at home and only used as a tablet type device I use at night or weekends, which it's actually very good at. But overall I feel better grabbing the Pixel 8 Pro when out and about and I trust it.

But yes, Google really needs to give the Pixel phones better upgrades. Mainly it needs a major battery life upgrade. Also it needs to be smoother and more fluid and faster.

I'm thinking of trading my S24 Ultra and going back to the Pixel 8 Pro. The S24U is just too massive for everyday use, and I miss the Pixel UI.

I'm not gonna call you crazy, I think the reason you like pixel over S24U is the same as some people enjoy iPhones over Android phones. they feel more comfortable with the UI and it feel nice to use even if hardware or feature are "better" on android phones.

At the end of the day it's just a matter of preferences, not to who has the bigger battery better screen or whatever.
It's nice living in a day and time when we can choose what's best for us. Enjoy your phone!

Something similar happens to me with the Galaxy Tab S9 + and the Pixel. I feel more comfortable using the Pixel because of the interface. I don't know how to explain it, but One UI doesn't convince me at all on an aesthetic level.

Literally transferring WhatsApp back onto pixel, just a much more usable phone, yes hardware lacks compared to galaxy, but UI and camera is way ahead. I think I can wait until sept/Oct to see if android 15 fixes the jankiness when scrolling some apps

Yeah supposedly Android 15 is supposed to smooth out the Pixel UI more fluid.

And yes the camera on my Pixel 8 Pro is significantly better than the S24U. Especially just point and shoot. No messing around or fussing around with settings. Just open the camera app. Take a picture and you're done. And voila, you've got a fantastic photo.

I’ve been doing my annual run through Android devices and tried the P8P. I like the hardware and OS but found that it runs terribly with Pokemon Go, does anyone know if this is an app issue or indications of the tensor chip not holding up? Had instances where the OS would freeze as well. When I tried the S24U it ran much better overall, no general OS issues at all, Pokemon was significantly better but not as smooth as iOS.

Is the Pixel 8 worth getting with the P9s close at hand, it’s just the P8 are almost constantly on offer now often with 20% or more off. I’m just concerned that the T3 sounds quite inefficient power wise & T4 I’m guessing will be better in this area.

T4 won't be much better, next year's T5 is the one to go for

The Pixel 10 line is supposed to be the biggest Pixel launch, maybe ever, with the big time move to using TSMC for their custom chipset and [H]ardware moving away from the Samsung processor.

The T4 in the Pixel 9 is pretty much more of the same, nothing that new, except it is supposed to be a bit more efficient and better on battery life.
