This may have been mentioned, but looks like these are the official US prices:

Looking forward to the UK prices and deals. Hopefully decent trade-ins for people.

Not long until the launch show!

Stuff like this means absolutely nothing to me until the device is in hand.
What “stress” are they putting in the device. Probably running a massive high paced game whilst recording video or something that a normal user would never do. 😜.

I’ll say it again, get it for yourself, try it for yourself and see.
I’ll caveat this by saying I am NOT defending Google if the device turns out to be lemon. Just make your own judgement, basically. For your use case the phone might be absolutely fine.
I do find it interesting when these benchmarks push the phone to its limits, how many people are actually going to be doing that. For example, I don’t play games on my phones, i listen to Apple Music, make calls, use WhatsApp and take pictures. I dont personally know a single person who will push a phone to its limits like in these stress tests. That being said, i do want great battery out of my phones.

Yep!! It is like the overheating issues with the 15 PM in the iPhone threads. If you went by what they say it would seem like all iPhones are overheating.
Yet between me and my friends and friends of friends we know almost 50 people who have the 15 PM. No one has overheating issues.

Let’s wait and see when people or reputable reviewers have the device in hand.

It’s either going to go one of three ways:

- Lay down the cash on the Black 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 combo.

- Lay down the cash on an iPhone 15 Pro.

- Do neither of above and buy a new case for my 13 Pro so I can pretend my phone is new lol.
Option 3 is winning at present… lol

I did a full transfer from my iPhone 14 yesterday, apps all downloaded, everything. The 15PM barely even warmed! Definitely overblown.

The counter to that is if you do wait for reviews you potentially lose out on the pre order bonus…

🤣🤣🤣 It’s the fear of making the wrong choice mate!

I’m already going against the grain by entertaining switching to Android again after so many years-I kinda need it to be spot on…
You are setting yourself up for disappointment. I have owned a Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 Pro and none of them I could say are without any annoying problems. ex: All of my phones sans the 7 Pro now have a screen touch problem where if I touch the screen the display doesn't turn on, including tapping the hell out of the front screen. I then resort to pressing the power button. This happened after a Google update.

If you still own an iPhone, my suggestion would be to hold onto it and try a Pixel 8 series phone.

Again, @BMox81 you need to try for yourself and see. This is one persons issue.
My 7 Pro ran with zero issues. But some people think unless it says Samsung or Apple it’s not good.

Same here. Sounds like a couple social media apps are common culprits (gasp!! Whodathought!?). I can’t recall who I was listening to but they took temperature readings on both a 15 PM while using Instagram Anna then on a 14 PM and both had very similar temperature spikes.

Not discounting that people are seeing issues..MKBHD has his temp spike for a few minutes while in airplane mode listening to Spotify on a flight yet it didn’t while outdoors in 90+ degrees F heat in Florida at full brightness. My guess is there are some isolated software bugs in the OS that Apple will work on in the next OS update.

I’ve personally not had any overheating issues either. And I’m certainly aware of what a warm phone feels like considering my other phone is a Pixel Fold. ;)

I think the most important announcement today could be related to software. If Google announces that they will support their 8 Series phones and after with 7 OS releases followed by 2 years of security patches, that will be a game changer in the Android world and will put them squarely alongside Apple's support. Which btw has been long overdue.
