The process of set up for me has been really quite painful. I wish I’d just set up as new.
The watch has also been a nightmare (still ongoing).
It took forever to update and then now it has the Watch app is telling me that there was a problem and I need to factory reset.
🤬🤬

I have found transferring data from an iphone to an android takes longer and sometimes does not go well.

It was bloody pointless. It would have 100 percent been quicker to set up as new and just download all the apps from the App Store. I didn’t even transfer any photos or videos as they’re all already synced to Google photos from my iPhone so no need. Can’t imagine how long it would have taken with the media transferring!!

The Pixel Buds are doing an update now 🥵😂

Yeah I had that as well. No issues after that point however.

My order is still processing on T-Mobile, although card was charged.
When I ordered the iPhone 15PM from them, I received it early. (Long story short, I wasn't impressed with it, went back to my iPhone 13, and then saw the Keynote from Google and decided to give Pixel a try).
I wonder how long they are going to take... my screen protectors is already here & cases should arrive today....

New MBKHD video is out

Big fan of Marques, but holy cow he needs to chill out on the camera being the main part of the review.

Nowadays, I don't buy a smartphone due to it having the best camera. That's further down the list for me

I want great battery life, a bright display, a fast, smooth fluid UI, solid software support, etc.

The camera the last few years on a good flagship smartphone has been good enough for me.

He did give the battery a thumbs up which normally he taxes it pretty heavily..

Well Tig, I don’t think your priorities match up with most people. I’d wager that the camera is one of the most important, along with battery life. Most regular consumers have no clue about software support or high refresh rate displays (exactly how Apple can continue to keep selling 60hz displays on their iPhones.)

Early adopters like us are quite often concerned about camera quality—tons of members here, myself included sure seem to pixels peep every new device we get. Plus, Marques is a huge camera nerd, so of course he’s going to spend done serious effort evaluating its camera performance.

He seems to be a fan of Pixel phones and to him the camera is what made someone really consider the phone over another Android phone or even an iPhone. In recent years the camera was complimented by crazy AI software. This year it seems Google has dialed up the AI software to an even higher level.

Just a few years ago, if someone was considering laying out flagship money for a phone based on the hardware, honestly they would probably spend it on a Samsung or an iPhone. This year it seems Google has brought the hardware and software similar levels, which is good when they price the Pro phone in the same range as other flagships.

Let’s face it the cameras are the only area which brands can improve year on year. It’s the main reason to upgrade along with battery life

Has anyone tried the Face Unlock yet? Is it as good as some have mentioned?
Just set up my banking app and low and behold, face unlock works as biometric log in 😁. And it seems to work much better than the Pixel 7 did.
I'm in a low light room currently as it's dark now in the UK and I only have two lamps on in the room. Face unlock working perfectly!
