I will say I'm really enjoying the rounded corners on this phone, makes it very comfortable to hold.

I've just ordered a non XL Pro in Rose Quartz.
Will initiate a return for my XL at some point next week. Feel like I'll be happier with the non XL. It's a big old phone, this, and whilst that has it's pros at home i just don't enjoy how big it is in my pocket when dog walking or trying to send a one handed text.
Hopefully there won't be too much of a hit on battery life. 👍🏼

Picture of a Pixel 8 case next to a 8 Pro case. The 9 Pro XL vs. 9 Pro are the same difference.

Yes the size difference is noticable;

One of the reviews I forgot which one actually showed the smaller 9 Pro getting better battery life than the 9 Pro XL. And other review sshowed it to be pretty much on par, they're both very similar battery life performance.

I'm using $200 Best buy gift card already LOL so I decided to pre-order the Pixel buds 2 Pro since the only Pixel buds I have are the A, $229 you get $30 e gift certificate back and getting $50 trade in for Galaxy Buds2 .
Or you can go nuts and get a OnePlus 12 for $669 - $200 gift card = $469. That's a hell of a good deal...if you need another phone...🤣. I am actually considering it.

I forget the exact details but in the tech chap pixel review video he got a few more hours of battery out of the X, vs the standard pro.
Interesting I would not expect that much difference but everyone uses differently and it's hard to replicate identical situations

So, new Pixel 9 Pro XL owners, Google’s move to Gemini has completely broken playing music via voice? I have Apple Music linked as my preferred music service and it plays fine on my Nest devices if I say “Hey Google, play music by xxxxx’. However, on my new 9 Pro XL, the same command just opens up a search for the words I just said. Switching back to Google Assistant instead of Gemini as your main assistant fixes it.

This is just one way in which the rush to launch Gemini breaks all sorts of basic functionality I’ve come to rely on.

Umm I did a thing. Kept my iPhone 15 and took the Optus deal. So pay $300AUD instead of $2000 for the 256GB Pixel XL and then 24 month contract for $34.50 for the sim plan. The deal was ending 25 August so yeah I couldn’t wait till the iPhone launch.

First impressions love the colour, got porcelain. I like the gold accents on the sides and its for my first white/gold phone and it looks amazing.

The 12 month Google One trial is also good too.

Congratulations it looks so awesome. I dare say this might be the best pixel to date.

Interesting I'm going to have to do some testing but I'm sure you're findings are correct I was actually thinking of just going back to the regular assistant. I'm not really sure that Gemini has anything for my needs but I figured I try it first
