Wanted to take a minute to give Google some props on my Pixel Fold trade-in. I dropped it off at UPS on Monday, received notification today at 11:30 am stating my trade-in device was received with the following statement:

We complete most trade-in assessments within 5-7 business days. Look for an update from us soon.

So, figured they probably still have a bit of a backlog and will see something next week. Well, literally 5 minutes later received another email from Google:

Great news! We have examined the device you submitted for trade-in, and its value either matches or is more than the estimate.

So much for 5-7 days—nice. It was the third email I received just 6 min later that both scared the **** out of me but then also greatly surprised me:

Your Preferred Care is canceled.

Caught my eye because I had purchased Preferred Care for my Pixel 9 Pro Fold and figured something happened on Google’s end and that I now expected to spend a lot of time on the phone fixing whatever had happened. Reading on further I realized what Google was doing was canceling the Preferred Care I had purchased for the device I just traded in (original Pixel Fold) and were issuing me a prorated refund of $144 back to my account. Very cool indeed.

Apple will do the same thing with unused AppleCare+ but only if you call them yourself. This being done automatically was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

With all the trade in horror stories you see online these days it's good to see posts like this. I've had nothing but good experiences with Google as well. Sent off my trade in for my Pixel 9 Pro XL on Tuesday and about to drop off my trade for the 9 Pro Fold. Hoping mine goes as quickly and smoothly as yours did.

LOL all you guys ordering new iPhone 16's too. Are you also keeping your new Pixel 9's as well? Just curious.

Personally I'm done with 2 separate phones, tried it with my Pixel 8 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra, and I rarely used both. I'd put one down and not touch it for days or weeks sometimes.

For me personally 2 different smartphones just isn't useful or needed, seems like waste. But that's just opinion.

An iPhone or Pixel phone only? HA only one option the Google Pixel all day long, never an iPhone ever, just no reason to get an iPhone for me, due to iOS and the way it navigates and operates, not my cup of tea whatsoever, unless it's radically redesigned and overhauled, which will never happen.

But hey, different strokes, for different folks.

Sometimes I forget this is an iPhone website. I never view the main news page or the iPhone form. I don't even remember those exist here. I've only always becoming to the sub forum which to me has always been Android only. So I view this site as an Android site, not an iPhone site.

But then I'm reminded and shocked at all these people that still like and use iPhones.
I have been the same way when using two phones, one just sits. Switching e-sims between Android and iOS devices is a colossal pain, among other reasons to just go with one phone. So nice having a physical SIM. I've never been comfortable enough to go Android only until I got the S24+ and now the Pixel. I think both companies nailed it (obviously not perfect).

I did my trade in through Best Buy and had to return a bad one. I've been refunded and everything, but the e-gift card is still valid. Also have the e-gift for the new phone I ordered. So $400 in gift cards is sweet.

Also ordered an iPhone 16.
Just the regular in Ultramarine. The price difference for a telephoto is just not worth it for me. I know 60hz is a crime in this price point and I will continue to moan about it, despite then also contradicting myself but buying one... But I like dual running and the iPhone will be secondary to my pixel as I do prefer Android day to day.

In other news re my Pixel, I'm quite pleased with it but I am having problems charging with my pixel stand. First day it arrived at the end of the day I placed it on the stand and woke up and it had only charged to 40%.
Presuming I had just not put it on properly the next two nights were ok but last night, same thing. Just 60% this morning.

Not sure if I'm just placing it on wrong or if there's a bit of a compatibility issue with the new 9 Pro and stand.

My teenage self found Alice Krige's original Borg Queen oddly attractive back in the day when watching First Contact. No idea why. Not exactly what I look for in women 🤣🤣🤣.
i thought she was attractive too! But i had no intention of join the Borg collective..... 😂🤣🤣

My PW3 has been okay since the 5th attempt setting it up, I did it on the charger and left it to fully charge before touching it and that for some reason seems to have done the trick.

Is it possible that the phone is sliding a little bit after you place it correctly on the stand ? I have the Google Stand 2 and sometimes I've caught the charge stop because the phone moved a little, it's happened with different phones too.

My wife uses my pixel stand 2 with her S24 and half the time she wakes up with it not charged lol.
It's definitely finicky I feel like maybe the phone gets a notification and if it vibrates a little bit it gets off the charge. I've caught it a few times with that small blinking light at the bottom of the stand.

I have both Google Pixel stands and version 1 has a little lip or bump on the bottom to keep phones firmly in place not letting them slide off. Version 2 does not have that and is slick so it's easy for phone to slide off charging.

I got this stand a couple weeks ago and it works 100% of the time with my 9XL with a MagSafe case attached. Also charges my Watch 6 Classic and Buds3 Pro. Surprisingly good charger, it's foldable too.

Wireless Charger for Samsung/Android, HOLYJOY Foldable 3 in 1 Fast Charging Station/Stand/Multi Charger for Samsung S24/S23/S22/Note 20, Travel Pad for Galaxy Watch 7/6/5/4/Active 2, for Buds(Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M6Y6DH...SC4N8JGD6HEYPY3GF&starsLeft=1&skipTwisterOG=1

I have the original Pixel Stand and couldn't use it with my Pixel 9 Pro Fold because the charging coil on the Fold is too low. Really wish Google had put Qi2 on the devices this year but realize the standard is fairly new. Better be there next year.

Pre-ordered the Pixel Buds Pro 2 with a 26th - 27th delivery.
I think that's the date that mine will be ready to pick up at BB. I had a $25 reward for buying the P9PXL plus using part of the $200 gift card. I'm getting a $30 reward for purchase buds so will be a great deal not to pass up. I was originally going to use the $200 on the Apple watch 10 so I can alternate with my AWU but decided to try these buds instead.
