Google store has the pro with an estimated trade in a $400..
Yeah it's £360 in the UK.
Just an update on my order I was going to place. I tried to use my Pixel Super Fan code for 20% off but got an error message that said something along the lines of the limit being reached. The code hadn't been used and it doesn't expire until end of August so I reached out via chat and they have taken it away for me. So waiting on that.

The other thing I hadn't considered, though, was the fact I'll get £179 back for being a Google 1 member. You get 10% back on purchases through the Google store, so with that on there as well it takes the phone to pretty much sub £900. Well worth it IMO. I'll likely pick up a Google Nest with the store credit ready for autumn / winter.

Hopefully Google come back and let me proceed.

Yep the Google One credit is another thing I took into consideration when ordering. I now have over $200 in my google account to put toward other goodies. So in all:

Free Pixel Watch ~$300
Google credit: $190
Fold 4 Trade: $900

It makes the $1900 for my 512gb Fold not near as bad as it looks at first glance. On top of the fact that I absolutely am in love with the device, I have no regrets with my purchase.

I’m a google one member just not premium. Didn’t realise get 10% back on all purchases. That would come in handy for pixel 8 pro.

I've had my Porcelain since launch. I paid full price then later sold my Galaxy S23. The more I use the Pixel Fold, the more I dig it.. Google nailed the form factor and the Google apps look great on it.

Now we just need developers on board to update their apps with tablet and Foldable support.

I have the 2TB one as I originally had 200GB and maxed it out.
I upload my photos in original resolution though and I also have my iPhone photos sync to Google photos so they're all in one place hence me using so much storage. The 2B gives the 10% and it's pretty good at sweetening the deal on purchases.

I definitely want to keep all my photos in the original resolution... Right now I don't take enough pics I guess to justify going up... I also have iCloud storage so I don't bring my iPhone photos over to Google but maybe that might be a better option... Going to have to look into everything ..

Updated to the new beta yesterday, no issues so far. I assume we are close to release version.

24 hours later I have a response from Google re my code issue. Their response was, thanks for your patience we’re still looking into it. 🙄.

I’m not quite suite what the delay is. The code was sent to me, the code hasn’t been used or expired, just give me a new code?
I’m wondering if it’s something to do with me using it whilst also trying to do a trade in? Who knows. Either way unless they tell me it’s now fine to use or give another code then I will definitely be kicking up a fuss!

Man that is crap. Google just can't get out of their own way when it comes to customer service. That is one area that it is hard to match Apple.

I wouldn't say that this was bad / poor customer service. Far from it. Just seems odd that they're taking so long to look into something that from my perspective seems pretty simple.
But at least they are looking at it and at least they're keeping me updated, even if there is no update to give currently.

True at least you got a response. But it just sounds like a problem to me that has a simple solution. I'm sure they could either generate another code for you or offer to order it for you at an adjusted price.

Only just noticed in UK they stopped selling the fold until august 22nd. Dunno if there is more demand than expected or if they just didn’t give the UK enough units

The thing is, it’s really not hard to match Apple. That shouldn’t be an outlier, it should be the norm. Get some engineers in there to manage the databases that handle all the codes and quit outsourcing everything overseas to save money. Oh and get rid of the thousands of escalation layers and just give people the ability to take action to make the customer happy within reason. It’s not hard but they manage to make it look that way.

Foldables aren't really a viable format for phones from a longevity standpoint IMHO. It's akin to the latest new craze that gets phased out once the novelty wears off.

This article, and the fact that more and more OEM’s are bringing foldables to the market suggest otherwise.

I think when Apple finally brings one out, many peoples opinion (and probably yours) will change. :)

We are definitely close to official... I'm thinking August
14.1 seems alright so far. Only thing is I have to reinstall the apps with privacy allowance such as location or picture folders.

Not sure if there is any main switch to avoid reinstalling those apps.

Foldables are here to stay don't think it's even close percentage wise of yes vs no ...

They are certainly here to stay and will have a place on the flagship devices. They are improving slowly year on year for design, getting lighter and becoming more like normal phones.

If price ever gets to that 1100-1200 range they may take a higher sales level. Not sure we will ever see best cameras in them though and for some that's the downside.

Hmm I don't see anything in the bug tracker for it ...if you want to send them back feedback

Agree most likely not best camera at least not yet ..they have a few more things working though to get them improved and hopefully price comes down ...it would be nice to get them down $300 in price for now ...

Hopefully one plus fold starts a trend with lower price. If that is priced lower maybe gets the rest to rethink the price
