he also claims the official BIOS fixes the green stripes

Perhaps I misunderstand, but he seems to say the opposite:
"I flashed the official Gigabyte Rom and I get green stripes in OS X".

If I take that at face value, it sounds like a bad card.

Admittedly, there is something being lost in translation during this whole conversation so I'm not really 100% convinced of anything.

I am very confused, he said the card work awesome with the stock firmware, and now says the card shows green strip with stock firmware.

I test the GV-N680OC-4GD ( http://www.gigabyte.de/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4373#ov) with original Bios and HDMI, DP and DVI works awesome on Windows 10, but when I switched to Evga Mac Bios, bad Nvidia Driver Error also Windows DeviceID Error came back -.- Is the Bios not the card, sorry!

Of course, I flashed the official Gigabyte Rom and I get green stripes in OS X .. hahaha this guy's who have no idea

Since he said the card was working properly yesterday. I can only assume he is actually the person who kill the card.

And he tried to use a EVGA ROM on a Gigabyte card, that greatly increase the chance of having trouble (or even damage something).

After all, some peoples have this problem with this card ... The seller exchanges the card now against the Evga GTX 680 4GB FTW

I'd ask for a refund and do it myself. There's virtually no reason to buy a pre-flashed GTX 680 from those eBay kiddies. They can't do more than grab ROMs they found somewhere on the internet and cross-flash them to other cards. The result can be seen in this thread...

It's literally a 2 minute job for someone who has done this before, maybe half an hour for a first timer. No reason to support them.

Someone had success to flash an asus GTX 680 4gb DirectCu II?

  • Graphics Engine NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
  • Bus Standard PCI Express 3.0
  • Video Memory GDDR5 4GB
  • Engine Clock GPU Boost Clock : 1058 MHz
GPU Base Clock : 1006 MHz
  • CUDA Core 1536
  • Memory Clock 6008 MHz ( 1502 MHz GDDR5 )
  • Memory Interface 256-bit

I readed the MacVidCards and the Moonshot discuss and I'm not sure if his rom is actually working or not
I'm also readed the ActionableMango warning to do not use this rom's...

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b675/asus-gtx-680-directcu-ii-4-gb

Bump!

Could be. Then he comes here for affirmation of his decision to blame the seller. Or maybe he's too stupid to know he buggered the card.

Yeah I mean after flashing the official bios back to the efi and now to official ... The card shows only a picture when I boot from CD but I can't install Bootcamp on the HDD cuase the Bios ^^Also doens't work ... We need a DOS USB Stick with NVFLASH on it ;)

Update: Now I can boot and install Windows 7 with USB --

@Anyone: Can the Nvidia GTX 680 Mac Edition/Sapphire 7950 HD Mac Edition handle Efi Boot without Driver Crashes on Bootcamp with any Windows e.g 7-10? ... Or is there any PCIe SSD Card who run in Bios (not EFI-Boot)?

Thanks!

Looking forward to your reply!!

Hey It worked for me perfectly with GTX680 4GB DirectCU II.

when you will read original ROM please screen shot first page with Clocks and power values.
I used original values for clocks and power and fan (I hope it's correct approach)

I did not work from nvflash UI but with cmd line worked perfectly.

pls check this instruction:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=67729

So I did al the steps with UI but the final rom flash with cmd.exe

nvflash.exe NEW_BIOS.rom it was giving me some mismatche error so I used -6 like:
nvflash.exe -6 NEW_BIOS.rom

and it worked :)
pls keep in mind you do it for you own responsibility ;)
thx guys!
WOOHOO!

If my original ASUS card is 10% min 100% max for fan.
And in MAC EVGA rom is 30% min 85% max.
Should I go with my asus values or EVGA or 20% - 100% is a good try? :)

JMVB I used the one from first page with my asus value edits.

And what about the output ports? are all of them working?

Hi,
I ve checked it and the top dvi its not working, so 3 displays are not possible to use I guess.
2 are fine.

Are you using Florian's ROM or Dr. Stealth's ROM? I'm guessing the latter. Florian's ROM fixes the upper DVI port issue.

I used DR. Stealth's rom. I won't reflash because I removed windows already and I don't need that dvi port anyway.

Yosemite 10.10.4

Tried the web drivers and stock drivers and the same result

I used in Kepler BIOS Tweaker memory clock 3004, base clock 1060

Hmmm, I don't know. Mine just worked after the flash.

How are you changing between the web and stock drivers in OS X with a black screen?

Does it work in Windows?
