My ROM makes the card run like a stock (unflashed) PC card as soon as OS X has loaded up, so that's why the PCI section doesn't show up (common behavior with PC cards).

So it's not really a bug, but desired behavior. ;)

It wouldn't hurt to disassemble the ROM and take a look into it to learn what I did , just go ahead. :)

Sneaky! I have lots to learn about Nvida roms but every example makes it that much easier. It's funny because I've flashed a crap ton of cards for friends and coworkers and they think I'm some kind of rom guru, but in reality I don't know wtf I'm doing!

It doesn't report anything in the PCI section ("Error retrieving data"). It's just a cosmetic issue, still does 5.0GT/s.
Thanks for the ROM. I can live with a cosmetic issue in exchange for all four ports working correctly. I just bought a 4GB GTX680+ at a good price on eBay & will be flashing it later today just as soon as I get Windows installed on a spare disk.

Hey guys,

I know I'm late to the party, I'm getting used to it...

I've attached a modified ROM which will enable all ports in OS X. ...

Thanks @Rankel for testing it!

Hi,
I'm running on odd things.
With this ROM, appear on Windows 8 and 10 every OpenGL software run on a "Sluggish" Viewport.
In photoshop moving the picture with Space is Lagging like every seconds there's a halt
Exactly the same on Autodesk software...

Intensive direct X 3d apps like Unreal Engine doesn't shows this.

1. Is it a "known" problem ?
2. Is it remediable ?
3. Is it working on W7 ?

Thanks.

I just successfully flashed this with Fl0r!an's ROM & can confirm that all four ports are working & that there is no PCI data. I am only interested in OS X so have no ida what performance is like in Windows but it appears to work flawlessly with OS X 10.11.5

@NNois: Does this also happen with the previous GTX 680 4GB ROM (1st post)? It shouldn't make a difference in Windows actually, but that's what I'd confirm first.

Someone had success to flash an asus GTX 680 4gb DirectCu II?

  • Graphics Engine NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680
  • Bus Standard PCI Express 3.0
  • Video Memory GDDR5 4GB
  • Engine Clock GPU Boost Clock : 1058 MHz
GPU Base Clock : 1006 MHz
  • CUDA Core 1536
  • Memory Clock 6008 MHz ( 1502 MHz GDDR5 )
  • Memory Interface 256-bit

I readed the MacVidCards and the Moonshot discuss and I'm not sure if his rom is actually working or not
I'm also readed the ActionableMango warning to do not use this rom's...

@Fl0r!an

Argg I've digged it down ...
- that's ok and working on Windows 7... no OpenGL lag...
- that's not the fault of your ROM, the old one (without DVI support) behave exactly the same apparently
- with the original graphic card ROM (without boot screen) there's no OpenGL lag...
- not tested = old graphic drivers...

Sorry for the noise, but what's different between windows 7 and 8 & 10 ?

Sounds like that ROM isn't 100% compatible with your specific 680. Maybe the old drivers were more robust, so you didn't experience any issues.

I think the HDMI port should work without improper flash, especially in Windows.

In Windows 8.1 Pro without any Bootcamp Drivers installed, HDMI works fine for the first time. After I install Bootcamp Drivers, Screen goes black??? I install many Versions of Nvidia Drivers (Windows Update/Nvidia.com/Bootcamp) but doesn't work... also after I upgraded to Windows 10, no screen on HDMI :/ On OS X works fine, should I uninstall al Bootcamp Drivers and all Nvidia Driver incl. with DUU ?

It's probably because it's a Gigabyte card & there are differences from the Nvidia reference design. I have always bought eVGA GTX680s as they are the same as the Mac edition cards.
If you must connect your screen by HDMI then I suggest you get a Display Port to HDMI adapter.

Very special Thanks, that's what I search for. I will bought an ACER H277Hsmidx and first connect it via DVI, it make no different between a DP or HDMI (not the sound, I paired my Mac with my 5.1 System) ?

Got a question. I'm using OP's gtx680 rom and just recently bought 48" Samsung 4k TV. Trying to use it with my mac pro and i can't seem to get 4k @60hz. Can this be caused by the ROM?

Card is Zotac GTX680 4GB

Also does anyone have original ROM from the zotac cards? I can't find the one i saved. Was thinking of reverting back to test

thanks

Alex

No Kepler GPU has HDMI 2.0, which is obligatory for 4K@60Hz.

You need an DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter for full bandwidth, e.g. the one from Club3D.

Tried fresh install of 10.11.5 and SwitchResX and wasn't able to get 60p going.
