(Guide) How to Jailbreak iPhone 1.1.2 UK/US version using windows

Jailbreak step 13

Great forum, got almost through the guide... but on step 13 after updating back to 1.1.2 I click on the bat.file and launch like in the guide. It then stops for me after 1/ 4th of the way at "reading flash image" It gets to "30198988/314572800" if thats any help... Its been standing there for 30min now... nothing happens. Have tried to bring it back to 1.1.1 three times but without luck....

(US OTB 1.1.2 week 47 4.6)

Hope someone has the solution:)
 
Okay I need help.

I've jailbroken my phone, 1.1.2 right out of the box, but when I try to update to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1 after jailbreaking the phone, I ALWAYS get error 1602,

I have
-Restored phone to 1.1.1 and restarted the process - fail.
-Uninstalled ALL of itunes and reinstalled and tried again - fail.
-Rebooted my PC - Fail.
-Switching USB ports - fail.

Every time I try to update to 1.1.2 my phone gets error 1602, then it is stuck in recovery mode, I have to use AppTapp to reboot the phone and try again. nothing works.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Have you tried simply rerunning the .bat file again? If that doesn't work, I think you will need to restore to 1.1.2 using iTunes BEFORE starting the whole proceedure to downgrade to 1.1.1 and so on. If that doesn't work, you may need to virgin your iPhone - google for that.

hiya everyone! i have just purchased an iphone on 02 and im on the iphone tarrif. the phone came pre loaded with 1.1.2. what i want to know is can i put apps on this? i jailbroke my ipod touch which i have now gave to my gf. that was no problem but that came with 1.1.1 n didnt need much 2 do that. jailbreaking 1.1.2 seems complicated!!! and some people are saying it cant be done! is that true? please help me

The phone I just jailbroke about a week ago was a new phone with 1.1.2 installed from Apple, so to answer your question it CAN be done and it is not as difficult as it may seem. As you can see there are others on this thread that have completed the process as well.

right jailbroke it !!! wooooooo ( thanks fozzy) and iv even sorted out the edge/ internet problem!!! all i need now is to set up visual voicemail some how!!! anyone have any ideas???? im on a iphone tarrif so dont say i cant!! when i try and click on the icon nothing happens! seems to be disabled some how after i jailbroke

hiya

right if i brought a new iphone on 02 could i unlock it to use a 02 simcard? so i dont have to have it on contract? and how? i have jailbroken my contract iphone so i know how to jailbreak a 1.1.2 iphone but could it be done with an unactivated iphone??? how do you activate an unactivated out of the box 1.1.2 iphone??
 
Stuck on step 4

I enter *#307# and it doesnt ring... it just does nothing... what do i do??

please helppp!

maybe i missed a step or something and im so paranoid that i might mess up the device.

As part of the jailbreak, my US iPhone was also "activated". Besides, if you already have an iPhone contract with O2, why activate your new iPhone on that contract?

did you get it to work? I have the very same problem and have tried a dozen times with different sims too

Me too! I'm stuck! It's very frustrating because I can install 3rd party apps and everything i just dont have service. I was playing tap tap revolution! Then tried upgrading to 1.1.2 for service and get the same error. Even tried it on a different computer but this time i got a #5 error....
HELP!
 
iPhone 1.1.2 with Bootloader 4.06

Hi,

Any idea on how to unlock iPhone 1.1.2 with Bootloader 4.06 ?
Is the software to unlock this version out yet ? Currently, I can just use my Iphone as an Ipod touch only.

My iphone is stuck in DFU mode and I'm not very computer literate; if anyone could give me some insight that would be great.

guys, the reason why this is happening is coz wen the phone is in 1.1.1 it is not activated. so when it is restarted by itunes for the 1.1.2 update it goes into dfu mode and itunes fails to detect the phone to continue the update.
the rest of yall who got it working (i envy u), wen you wer in 1.1.1 after the jailbreak did activation with any o2 uk sim succeed?

if ur using windows, dwload 1.1.2-jailbreak, run windows.bat (make sure u have java installed, else download and install the latest jre from java.com/en/) and click 'boot from recovery' to get it out of dfu.
 
Upgrade 1.1.3

Hello everybody... I did my jailbreak of a 1.1.2 OTB a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly (still does). But I have a question now, there is a new update since 1 week. The new iTunes softaware update 1.1.3... If I download it, do I need to jailbreak it again? Will all my data be lost? will I be lost???? Or can I just download the software update and be cool with it, without any problems in my iPhone? Thank you all for your help.

Don't update to 1.1.3 until a jailbreak for it has been worked out.
 
Hello Everyone,

Sorry about the lack of replies but I have been extremely busy lately. I have just brought myself a Macbook :). Very pleased with it.

Right this guide is getting really old now and tonight I am going to create a new guide to work with 1.1.3 so you can upgrade to it. It works with windows because I have tested it myself. Any questions please contact me

Great guide, heres my dilemma.

I have a 1.1.2 jailbroken:

1. before I bought it, so I don't know what the original sim is, not mine anyway so will I still be able to do this?

2. You may now be wondering, why do you need to do this when it is already jailbroken, well I have no installer.app and I tried to SSH it but it won't work on 1.1.2, just bounces you out to the main menu. I was told to just SSH apps to my phone and installer.app is crap and will brick the phone? But SSHing apps to the phone is tedious and doesn't help me find apps like installer will, what do you guys suggest? Should I go through this downgrade to get installer.app working on 1.1.1 then upgrade firmware?

3. My phone is unlocked without use of turbosim etc. just put any sim and it works, I believe (not sure) this was done by opening the phone and doing something, is it possible this firmware downgrade/upgrade will lock the phone?

4. Do I have to do all the steps mentioned seeing that my phone is already jailbroken/unlocked?

Four important questions for me, I would be indebted to someone if they could set me straight.

hello,

I recommend you might as well just start again with the jailbreak. Once you downgrade the version the jailbreak will go and you can install again as specified.

Cool, I did that, everything is cool. Thing is, the last step says to upgrade the firmware with Itunes but Itunes only offers a firmware update to 1.1.3 (not 1.1.2) so how do I update to firmware 1.1.2 right now?

Only other thing, I have no service now (with Rogers in Canada), some guy had unlocked it without using turbosim etc...so not sure what you guys suggest now? Go out and try turbosim or BTW how the hell did he unlock it for any sim in the world without those turbosim/stealthsim methods anyway?

Yea, I did that last night (it says restore on the file but you can use it as an update ctrl-click on update). Worked perfectly, and my signal came back!

Funny it didn't work in 1.1.1 but it came back in 1.1.2 - now I have to reinstall all apps etc. contacts but worth it, who installed apps without installer! what nonsense!

This is the unlock method used on my phone I assume: http://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm

got not signal with 1.1.1 but did with 1.1.2 - you're saying that we can update to 1.1.3 (from installer)? Wonder if I will lose my signal!

Edge not working

Hi all,

I have been searching the web for almost a week now and can't find a solution to my problem!

I had my iphone in 1.1.2 (original o2) working fine, i downgraded and upgraded to the jailbreak version of 1.1.2 (still using genuine o2 contract) but my edge setting has disappeared off the menu!

I have tried copying a new file into the Carrier folder ( but this folder wasn't there when I SSH'd into it! I had to create it) and it didn't resolve the problem.

Has someone actually found a solution - how to either get the menu option back OR enter the settings manually?! I need edge working!! :(
