10.8.4 is renowned for breaking wifi, especially with encrypted networks. You may try to revert to 10.8.3 airport deamon in /usr/libexec as a workaround (keep a backup of the existing file though).

I am facing similar problems (actually, a kernel panic shortly after connecting to a university wifi; this is under 10.8.4 with MLPF 0.3 on a Macbook 4.1; see https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/17506638/). The version of airportd that you attach is actually identical with the one shipped with 10.8.4. I just compared the two binaries using FileMerge… I'm afraid we would need to seek the solution elsewhere. Thanks anyway.

hello guys,

i have problems with my OS..
i installed Mountain Lion 10.8.4 (clean install) on my macbook white early 2008 using MLPostFactor

i already tried using WORKGROUP but didn't work..
i tried manual ip networ, still didnt work..
then i tried using ethernet connection, still can't access (same problem)

second problem:
i can't connect into imessage

(sorry for my bad english)

WEP 2 problem

I'm running OS X 10.8.4/MLPF 0.3 on my MacBook 3,1. Everything seems to be running great, except for using WiFi with WPA2 Enterprise, which my university is using to authenticate users in their campus WiFi. The MacBook seems to be able to authenticate with the network, but then doesn't get an IP address allocated. After a while, it self-allocates a 169.x.x.x address, but of course that doesn't help. Every other network connection seems to be fine, DHCP works in my home WiFi. The same MacBook also receives an IP address via DHCP from the university's network when I'm running Lion. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? If you need any log files, let me know.

Hi I had a problem with my wifi as well, it won't recognize any WEP2 wifi, so i installed in a external drive and it worked, so I time machined it and installed on my internal and it's now working. Annoying but solved...:apple:

Jesus this is hard work .. I found the 0.30v that's downLoaded .. Struggling to get the jiat of this.

I don't want it installed on a partition I want it to upgrade my main lion partition drive so why am I creating 2 new partitions? :S

If you created the ML installation disk with 0.3 MLPF and have a good working BACKUP try and install it over your lion partition. I did it on a MacBook late2007 with intell X3100 everything working fine like a simple update. The only think that gave me a message was to update to a newer java. DON'T FORGET TO BOOT AGAIN FROM INSTALLATION DISK AFTER THE ML INSTALL AND INSTALL THE MLPF FROM UTILITIES MENU. I hope this would help you.

I already tried a clean install, didn't work.

it was not a clean install that solved my problem, was another way to install it, I installed it in a external and than copied it to my internal, I tried 2x clean install on my internal and I had the same problem, I even copied all the kext from my working one to the internal and nothing, the only way to have it working was by that procedure, take a look in a post above with a file to download and give it a try...

no solution for this?!
i guess i should back to Lion

Thank you for your work, it's really nice to be able to use 10.8.4 on a Mac Mini Mid 2007.

I was wondering if there was a way to counter the laggy mission control ?
SSD ? Add 1 Gb of RAM ?

Or we are bottlenecked by the GMA 950 ?

Thank you.

have you informed you machine so they can think on what is happening? I wouldn't give up, stay with lion for a while and later updates will come, or just install it on a external and keep trying until news...

Hi, I think it's related to the graphics card, so nothing you can do, I'm not an expert but that's what i understood reading this forum... you have a GMA 950, check other posts right before this page and see an app that can give you a better experience, not sure if it works but you can try it and let us know...

Are you talking about Chameleon ?
I installed EDP but it's a hackintosh app and I didn't find anything useful for the GMA 950.

Anyway, thank you for your help.

It's a Windows app, there is nothing for OS X.

Edit : And now Mission control is not laggy so RAM problem I would guess.
I guess there is still the 3 Gb limitation on this old mac mini ? (Mid 07)

but on my macbook, i still can't access windows folder share..

BOOT CAMP bootcamp MacBook Air 1,1

I'm having problems trying to install windows via boot camp, it does not continue when I press it and does not recognize windows 7 dvd or windows XP cd, only windows 8, anyway, it should try to read my specs and see that it's not compatible with it and just don't go, just in case someone needs windows with mac OS X be advised...

Indeed, EDP is kind of useless on a real Mac (not to say dangerous), especially to handle graphics matters like getting GMA950 to work or work better. One thing though that is available as a fix through EDP is brightness control, but that issue may not apply to a real Mac. You may find the old GMA950 booster tool useful though, if that can still run under ML of course but it's got nothing to do with EDP...

This being said, my D430 notebook (1.33GHz U7700 CPU) & D620 (2.0GHz T7200 CPU) Hackintoshes are both fitted with GMA950, run 10.8.4 with MLPF v0.3 and there's not particular lagging. None is exceptionally fast of course (especially the D430 with its dreaded slow ZIF HDD), but overall run Ok.

Awesome

v0.3 & 10.8.4. Loving some of the new features like iPhoto streaming and sharing and multiple disk backup in Time Machine.

MacBook Pro 3.1 2.4GHz 4MB RAM 1TB Seagate SSHD. Running perfectly with four active user accounts.

Wayne - you have a special gift!

Thanks

I don't know about mission control being too laggy. But I did notice that LaunchPad can be a tad slow. Our GMA 950's don't have a lot of oomph in them as they once did. But the slow animation is due to the blurring of the background, and can be removed. You can cycle between different types of backgrounds by using Control+Option+Command+B, and notice right away the performance increases. Using that command is lost when you log out so I found a great utility that makes it permanent (among other great tasks) The program is call Onyx (http://www.titanium.free.fr/downloadonyx.php) Make sure you download the one for Mountain Lion! The setting can be found in the parameters section under Misc, and at the bottom under background sharpness. Move the slider all the way to the left and apply.

Just a quick tweak for make things a little smoother. Hope this helps someone out there!

I keep getting a driver not found error when I go to restart from the ML partition
Any help appreciated

Don't forget to install the drivers again right after you install the OS o the HD, it's in the EFI drive or INSTALL, boot it back their and select the MLPF option to complete the installation...

Now it's great, that command helped a lot, it's opening a folder in the lunchpad much better... Thanks a lot... although I didn't find this option in the onyx app, if it's their...

i have iogear bluetooth 4.0 usb dongle, it works in 10.8.2 with 64bit kext, but not with dp1 32bit kext. how to fix it? thanks

Installation problem

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble, I followed the guide exactly, and when I need to boot in the "Install" partition, it doesn't show up, neither in the Startup Disk selector screen...

I'm using a original Install OS X Mountain Lion.app downloaded from Apple some time ago (I don't know the version), and the 32-bit version of MLPostFactor 0.3.

I've tried to install with 10.8.0/1/2/3/4, with MLPF 0.2.2 and 0.3, all give me this problem.

I'm creating 2 partitions, "Install" and "Mountain Lion" (I'd used the name ML before, I don't know if it can cause this problem).

Does someone know how to discover my .app version?

Anyone have any idea of what is causing this?

Thanks.

I had one hiccup when installing, after MLPF on Install (only <1GB applied to Install partition), did not see Install (EFI Boot) on restart. For me solutions was to once activate the original Apple OSX 10.8 Install App from within Lion, which off course failed, and after that the MLPF installation was ok (about 7GB applied to Install partition), and I could see the EFI Boot partition on reboot.

Hey, can u help me? I'me having this problem. I didn't understand what you did to run...

It's putting 1.03 GB on my Install partition...

Website not completely working, download links down... this happening for anyone else? Or if somebody could post a mirror for me to download MLPostFactor? I am very eager to try this on my MacBook4,1 yet of course, something comes up. Somebody please tell me when the website will be back up or somebody please post a download link/mirror. Thanks!

Logan

You can find the download links here (YouTube), this is where I found MLPostFactor V 0.3

MLPostFactor V0.3 - Install ML on an older Mac without virtualization !
