Finally got everything all set up and running well. This is really nice, being able to finally have iMessage on my MacBook and being able to have a notification center. Not really much of a big deal but a job well done to Wayne and anyone else who contributed to the development of this program. Job well done.

Hey, can u help me? I'me having this problem. I didn't understand what you did to run...

It's putting 1.03 GB on my Install partition...

I see, the image must be larger than 4gb, so if it's not try other version of mlpf 0.3 but if you can't get passed this it is not gonna install properly so try downloading it from different sources and let us know... I do not know if it can be a problem with your .app what j know is that if it Is not right it would alert you, but from that point on I can not help...

I've already tried with both versions of MLPF, selecting all the system version possible...

My .app has 4.37 GB, and I already used him to sucesseful install 10.8 on a supported mac.

EDIT:
Now, repairing the Install Partition and the HD, and mounting InstallESD when the MLPF is being installed on "Install", I've got 5.xxGB on my Install Partition.

When I reboot and try to install the OS, after 10 seconds I stops and say "Failed to install"... It's problably not working. I still have tried running the MLPF on "ML", but no booting and just some MB of data on.

I don't know what else to try!

**I'm running a MacBook 4,1 - GMA X3100 - 4GB RAM** I think it's fully supported....

Firstly, nice job HackerWayne and MLForAll, gratz, and thanks for your support.

I have a problem when installing MLPF to Install partition.... If I follow the guide, it install 908MB into "Install"

If I mount InstalESD.dmg and basesystem.dmg first, it installs 5.xxGB, but in the ML installation, it erros whitin 10 seconds....

Anyone know what's going on?

How many GB's has the FULLY WORKING "Install" partition?

They could have made changes on the mlpf or an error on download try another one after that I leave this to the experts. Hope you get it...

****... should've thought about this beforehand. I installed Mountain Lion on the "ML" partition I created as I should have. I only allotted 22 GB for myself, but I'm not sure this is enough. The reason for this is that I want to use ML as a replacement for 10.7.... Is there a way I can make my partition for Mountain Lion larger for more data, apps, etc?

Thanks, Logan

Great but...

Hi everyone, it was great to have ML running on my old MBA 1,1, it was really nice to see all the work put into it and I really think you guys are out of this world, extraordinary people, but I must say something that I don't like in ML in old Mac's:

- It was not intended to run on old Mac's, sorry guys, for me any computer that just seats in the table is not good enough for me, I always have to do something with it, I really thought that will be a good idea on switching from Lion to ML but it ends up that I don't use all the features that Lion has little less the ones on ML, and most important, it's an old Mac, has the minimum memory to run it, so it's really not cool to not be able to have, for example, mail, safari some menu bar things running, calendar, contacts, it was just not useful in that situation, it will always star to slug and prevent me to do my work, obviously it's a problem on my HD that is a 4K spin 1,8", yah I know.

So if you are to upgrade to ML, take my advise in this meter and make sure you have a backup of you preferred OS ready to come back to or use it as a second OS until you are sure about the total functionality of it for you in your daily use.

What I did was to come back to Leopard, yes Leopard, since I don't use any special app I went back to it, not even SL, and I must tell you I'm much happier with the performance of my MBA, and I have everything I need running and still have few hundred memory left with no slug @ all...

Sorry to inform you guys about that, I still have a copy of a working ML OS on a external that I can boot from if I want to, but I think I will wait to see how Mavs does in old Mac's so I can give it another try.

Thanks for all and hope everyone enjoy their MLPF really good work with ML.
:D

Question?!

Alright, I have a quick question- is there a Mavericks thread? There was one mentioned a couple of times, but no link or anything. So - is there? I see on Twitter MLForAll has it working on his MacBook, but is there a forum?

If so, could anyone post a link?

Thanks a lot!!

if you search on one of those grey torrent sites i think that you'll find 10.8.

Yep, was looking at that also. For some stupid reason I trust more the people on here, (which admittedly could be the same people who upload on the torrents), more.

I haven't had any trouble with the torrent site that I use, except getting files that are in RAR format. On the windows side you are almost guaranteed to dl a virus.

To BUDDYGOR,
Yes there are a whole bunch of Mavericks threads on Macrumors, including one about running Mavericks on old Macs with Hackerwayne.

Hi,
I'm new here, but quite long read this thread.
Thanks to Wayne and MLforALL and all others engaged for THE GREAT JOB allowing me to use ML on my MBP late 2006 C2D 2,33 ATI Radeon X1600 256MB.
It works great! Thanks a lot again! And now even better with new SSD 250GB inside!!!
The only three things annoying me are:

1. Lack of ability to use Little Snitch - but perhaps it can be available on MLPF 64Bit - so I can wait :)

2. My fans very often goes crazy during work because of CPU warming... - I know that it must be so - so I do not complain ;)

3. A keyboard backlight always starts when MBP boots and it makes, I think, additional warming up and job for computer's fans. Does not matter if I turn it off from keyboard dedicated key or not. It always starts...

- and here is my question:

Is there a way to turn off this keyboard backlight starting with comp. booting up?

I'll be grateful for some ideas with a solution to the issue...

Not working for me.

I have an original Mac Pro with 4 internal hard disks: the factory 250 with Lion on it & 3 750s. I cleared off one of the 750s & made an empty partition to try to install Mountain Lion on & an "Install" partition according to the MLPostFactor instructions. I haven't been successful in getting the "Install" partition recognized as bootable so I can actually install Mountain Lion. I've even gone so far as to clone the 250 over to the 750 in case that might help. What am I missing? Thanks.

I just discovered this after having given up on going past Lion on my late 2006 iMac.

Anyone know if the kernel-based apps will be fixed any time? That's the one thing keeping me from making the move now.

Or maybe I'll just wait for one for Mavericks and hopefully it'll be fixed by then.
