thank you

Imac 5.1 late 2006 - 500gb HDD ATI x1600 128mb - 2gb ram etc
followed instructions to the letter and all went well. no errors not blank screen nothing at all went wrong.
i cant believe how well it runs without any hiccups for now. few questions:
1. can the ML partition be bigger?
2. why can't we use the whole of the HDD as it works so well i dont wanna have a lion install on most of my HDD
3. Jumping the gun here a bit but maverick option would be great :) just kidding

thanks again

Q: If my imac has a broken screen, and i want to use MLPF, how can i complete the install portion ?

I have many computers around but they're all pc's.

I have a VM in VMWare workstation, but it seems it's not possible to use the ALT key to boot from usb, and i guess it wouldn't work anyway

Can i boot a windows PC from an iBoot media and complete the install portion this way ? Any input would be appreciated, tia ! :D

64 Bit 0.3 Release?

Any idea when the 64 bit version of 0.3 will be released? The 32 bit does not have the video card support I need.

There is a link on the osxhackers site, but it does not work, yet...

cheers for that. early days yet so will hold fire. so any idea on why ML partition is only 20gb. i have 500gb HDD and when i am using ML there is over 450 attributed to Lion.

After I got everything up and running and was convinced it worked, I wiped my Lion partition and superdupered the working ML to the first partition and deleted the "install and ML partitions" and have 1 180GB SSD in my MB 2,1.:apple:

I don't think that your getting ignored, just no one probably has a solution for ya. What version of the iMac do you have? I just replaced the screen in my iMac 17" early 2006 because I had 4 colored lines in the screen. If you have the same iMac, I could ship you my screen. Just give me enough for shipping and you've got a deal. Or for that matter, look out on ebay for a cheap screen.

Install app not in Applications folder.

Hello there. Anyone know why i'm getting this error:"Install OS X Mountain Lion.app not found. Please put the app into your Applications Folder, and restart MLPF."

I'm sure that the app (with is 4.37gb big) is in the Applications folder. What i'm doing wrong?

Has anyone run into problems with Chrome crashing? Seems to be the only problem so far for me (MLPostFactor on a Late 2007 White Macbook).

you will have to have another hd running OSX than you erase and rename you HD to ML with 1 partition and you make a INSTALL in a pendrive but it has to be done in pair to the ML HD, if you try to install it in another HD or in other MAC it will fail... hard but possible, install it in an external and do all described above to have it on your internal HD...

I think that you could re-install 10.8.x to an 8 gb flash drive then use it to update the OS on your Lion partition. Then you can use Disk Utility to resize your Install and ML partitions back into one partition with all files and have an installer that you can keep.

The size of the APP appears to be correct. Are you running Lion(at least 10.7.5)? If not that may be the problem.

Thanks for the tip. I'm running lion 10.7

Tried to update but according to software update im already up to date. Currently downloading the combo update.

UPDATE:"mac os x update combined can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."

I recreated a lion install thumb drive by myself, and now I am able to install updates!

+1 to that, I've been following their twitter feeds and from what I can see it's in beta testing but not out yet. If you do twitter it's mlforall.

I guess you chosen the wrong version number in MLPostFactor? Like you have a 10.8.3 app and you choose version 10.8.4 in MLPostFactor. Had that problem too. Now im using a 10.8.4 app and i choose version 10.8.4.

Now i'm facing the problem with a gray screen after ML install.

Using a 4,1 imac.

Jabbawok 10.8 Mac Pro method & Messages (iMessages)

Could someone using this method on there unsupported Mac Pro that has Messages working PLEASE elaborate how in the heck it is accomplished. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING including updating Chameleon and placing the FileNVRAM.dylib in a modules folder in /Extra which seems to be the current universal fix but alas no love for me. I even switched to using the latest Chimera 2.1.1 which as stated by the developer is specifically designed to fix Messages/iMessages and while it boots both my OS X 10.8.4 & 10.9 quite nicely still nothing Messages wise. Oddly both iCloud and FaceTime which my understanding is that they operate on the same login work perfectly...its just Messages that I can not "activate".

Needless to say I am not in the least dismayed with the problems I am having with Messages. When googling this stinking app and the various issues with it there are literally endless amounts of forums, the majority of which are folks on supported machines, that cannot get this piece of crap app to function properly.

I'm currently using Clover in BIOS mode and it's working flawlessly - but you need to find out how to make it bootable for you. For me (I set up a 50mb fake bootcamp hybrid mgr partition in terminal and installed it there + into the ESP using boot0ss. for you, having in as the first partition on a extra drive (I guess) it should work without any modifications - it's also fairly easy to set up (search for Clover Configurator instead editing the plist file manually).

Try the install again and during install, show the log window (One of the menu options in the ML install). I had this problem as well and leaving the log window worked. YMMV

So in installing and setting up Clover on its own boot partition...oh I will stop and state that (and I say this now despite the intricate work I have posted here) I do not understand Clover at all. Its to bad its developers focus so much on the hackintosh realm and make it extremely difficult if not impossible to use in the real unsupported mac world. I suppose they figure that Chameleon/Chimera have the legacy boot thing covered so they concentrate on the PC OS X side. The thing that sucks about that is hackintosh/pc builds have a fresh/current/updated native os to install/use in Windows while the unsupported mac world will forever have to jump through hoops due to the contrived forced obsolescence of apple to do the same.
