ATI cards are unsupported (STILL).

OP has promised support in the upcoming 0.3.1 build, but he's been pretty unreliable as of late so don't get your hopes up.

I'm using an X1900XT, but I just tried to use my HD5770 and MLPostFactor screws it up royal. The HD5770 works fine with pristine 10.7.5, but with MLPF 10.8.4 is will either not complete the boot at all, or will panic within the 1st minute. The HD5770 is completely useless with MLPF. The X1900XT works fine, but I really want to get the HD5770 going, so I'm going to abandon MLPF and go for the Chameleon bootloader method using a clean, pristine install of 10.8.5. Obviously MLPF works for non-upgradeable laptops & iMacs, but for a Mac Pro 1,1 or 2,1, I think the Chameleon method seems like a better solution IF you have a video card like the HD5770. If you're using some low-level Mt.Lion unsupported video, then MLPF is probably your only option.

MAC OS 10.7 on Macbook Core 2 duo 2.16 (2007)

Hello guys. Would it be possible to get Lion 10.7 on my Macbook Core 2 duo 2.16 (2007).
I'm trying to take this game developing class that's based on Xamarin Studio which requires 10.7 at least. I'm currently on 10.6.8.

Any help is appreciated.

Yes its possible. You only need a Lion capable Mac, then install Lion trough Target Disk mode...

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems that the MacBook in question is a Lion-compatible device (if it has enough RAM). So I'm not sure if Target Disk Mode is necessary here. It could be that all this MacBook needs is a copy of 10.7, which isn't up on the App Store any more.
Is that right?

I have MacBook 2,1
Now I have installed lion 10.7.5
How long to wait when patch will support my Mac? I need mountain lion because I learn Xcode, and now for Xcode 5.0 need at least OS X 10.8.4

Just in case you are unaware, the biggest benefit in utilizing the Chameleon method on an unsupported Mac Pro is the fact that you will be running Mountain Lion in 64 bit. Personally it seems rather pointless to use/install Mountain Lion at all unless your afforded with that capability as even if you were able to get MLPF working on your Mac (Mac Pro or otherwise), your Mountain Lion OS would be limited to running only in 32 bit mode.

Late 2007 Macbook - USB

I have installed 10.8.0 on a 32G USB drive on a late 2007 4GB RAM Macbook.

Its working fine but very slow. I believe this is due to the fact OS is creating a swap file in USB and read/write form USB are slower.

Though I dont want to install this software on my internal disk, I am open to using internal disk to speed up the installation.

I am no pro but in this so would appreciate if somebody can suggest on how to make mountain lion run faster from USB.

Thanks in advance.

I think that from USB there is no solutions for fast working with ML. I have mb mid 2007 with lion and I have install ssd cruical128gb now it work extra fast. Boot time around 1minute and all apps launch and work very fast. I think if mlpf has supported my Mac ml work is fast

OK, I've read almost every page and I'm totally stuck.
I keep getting the circle with a diagonal line when trying to open the install partition.

I have used a copy of internet that is the same as the APP store version (tried two different copies).
This is because 10.8.5 is in the store now ...:/ FYI I already have a macbook with a legal copy of ML so this is not illegal.

I have everything exactly done as you say. Including fixing the disk etc.

I have a mac mini 2007.

Anyone? Please? :D

Thanks in advance!

Can I prepare a install-drive on my macbook pro with Mountain Lion on it? Or is that not possible? Does it have to be A mac with 10.7.5 or THE mac with 10.7.5? Or just A mac with at least 10.7.5?

Im pretty handy with these things usually (even got a hackintosh working with snow leopard) but I keep getting this error.

EDIT:
Oh and yeah, I checked my file several times ;). Also downloaded different version that all should work. Actually, with one of that version I already got it working on an old macbook a few weeks ago.

How in the hell did you install 64-bit OS on a 32-bit MacBook? Please enlighten us.

Lion supports both 32 and 64bit kernel modes...

Not a chance on a Core Duo system. Lion and ML require Core 2 Duo minimum...

It's worked for me to run MLPF to make an Install drive from a Mac running 10.8, if that's what you're asking.
