Mountain Lion on GMA 950 Macbook:

  1. Get a ML capable machine, its easier this way and thats how I've done it. Now proceed to patch / replace the files on your ML install USB, as per hackerwayne's guide.

  2. Boot up from the ML USB & install it. In my case, I've installed it on an external 2.5" HD. Took around 15 minutes from start to finish.

  3. Boot into your newly created ML installation, still from the ML-capable machine; download this zip file HERE. This contains the 10.6.2 GMA950 kexts, which are 64-bit capable, as well as AppleHDA.kext from Lion, which enables audio.

  4. Unzip everything, and using kext utility (included in the above zip file), install the kexts by dragging all of them into the main kext utility screen.

  5. Last step, is to copy over the patched PlatformSupport.plist from hackerwayne's guide (his last step) to /System/Library/CoreServices so that ML can boot off your Macbook.
Simple. :D

And for X3100? That's the same?

BOTH GMA 950 and X3100 is now fully working/supported except whatever that requires OpenGL 4 of course. (Blame it on intel!!!!)

Again - is it possible to insert this kexts to INSTALL USB?
To install w/o another Mac...
You don't need another Mac. I did the original post 22 guide with the USB, did all the .plist file maneuvering, and booted into Mountain Lion. After that, the graphics were really slow and glitchy, all I did was download the .kexts for the X3100, install them and reboot. :)

What works what doesn't (to avoid confusion)
- Mac Minis with X3100 > Perfect
- Mac Pros with upgraded graphics > Perfect

- MacBooks with X3100 > Works, display brightness issue
- MacBookAir with X3100 > Works, display brightness issue

- MacBookPros with X1600 > Graphics Issue (Frame buffer mode with Core Image lacks Quartz Extreme)
- iMacs with X1900 > Graphics Issue (Frame buffer mode with Core Image lacks Quartz Extreme)

- MacBooks with GMA 950 > Graphics (doesn't work at all)
- iMacs with GMA 950 >Graphics (Doesn't work at all)
- Mac Pros with 7300GT and X1900XT >Graphics (Doesn't work at all)
- Mac Minis with GMA 950 > Graphics (Doesn't work at all)

Might want to update these wayne. :)

Can you confirm both QE/CI are working?
QE/CI is NOT working unfortunately, but things are pretty smooth nonetheless.

too bad no QE/CI working :( But thanks anyway, some things are running much smoother (Animations Notification center and so on), some no longer working (Launchpad --> MacBook gets really slow, wasnt like that before) and some things havent changed (I still need to type blind if I post something on Twitter / Facebook) - still no solution for not working iMesssage, FaceTime, ... ? :apple:

So X3100 is with QE/CI and GMA 950 is without QE/CI? Am i right?
I'm not sure… some graphics issues still, but only a few. Everything is smooth except for Launchpad, some notification center stuff, and Time Machine. Chess also sucks at the moment haha.

iMessage & Facetime is beyond the scope of this. A solution for that will crop up from the hackint0sh community :)

Is this posting to Facebook from Notification center? or via share button?
