hello

I have been trying for several hours now, but some things in post 22 don't work for me:

Full instructions:

3. Right click on OS X Mountain Lion.app and click "show all content" Navigate to Shared Support and drag "InstallESD.dmg" to your desktop.

- I can't drag the file to the desktop (will produce an Alias), have to copy and paste it

5. when its done, go to the newly restored 8GB drive, navigate to System>Installation and replace the file "Packages" with the one in InstallESD.

Packages on the the 8GB drive is an Alias, Packages on InstallESD is a folder on the root level (3.85GB in size here)... what do you mean by "file"? I rerplaced the Alias with the folder...

7. Open up both ZIP files. You should get a folder called MountainLionHack, and it contains 2 folder, which is CoreServices and i386, and a file called OSInstall.mpkg Open up the 8GB thumb drive, navigate to /System/Library and MERGE the patched CoreServices folder in, when it ask about files replacement, click replace.

I think hidden files should not be merged...

8. Reboot your Mac and hold down "Option" while booting. Select the thumb drive and hit enter.

I am getting the "no go" logo immediatly...

btw: I can boot the Mac (Mac mini) with no problems from a USB-Stick with Mountain Lion Retail produced from InstallESD with no changes.
I'd like to have a MacBook4,1 running ML ;-)

Make sure all files are merged. Simple as that, if you can boot ML on your Mac Mini w/o hacking, why you wanna hack it?

MacBook3,1 launchpad is working. Flash on Safari is working too! Please check your installation once more. DP 1 is usable and in fact, quite stable, but most of the stuffs are unchanged (just like Lion). Im not sure whether theres some sort of "expiry date" for the DP, cuz for Windows beta build it has.

You say Launchpad is working, but EnricoBaradJ confirmed the issues I had:

"Yeah lounchpad and youtube on chrome wants work".

I have reinstalled the kexts and repaired permissions. This made notification centre slide out without the artefacts I saw prior to installing the kexts, so it definitely did something, but launchpad still takes about half a minute to respond. Is there anywhere that I can check, or logs that I can post to try and find the cause of this? As you can see from my earlier post, I have all 144MB vram available.

I asked help on the thread that was cancelled... I hope to get an help, here.

I would like to know if I can have accelerated graphics on X3100, without reinstalling Mountain Lion. The problem is that when I installed it on my MacBook4,1, I have overwrited Lion, so I can't follow the guide as indicated on post #22.

What can I do?

Theres a way to use FaceTime and iMessage, but it requires a ML compatible Mac, and you will be using the compatible Macs UDID and tokens, which in this case, updates every 24 hours. How many of you actually uses iMessage, FaceTime & Game Center on your Mac?! The primary point here is to get ML working and not fixing useless stuffs like FT and Game Center. And like what Trunkz said, don't expect this to work 100% at this point, and don't ask when we will see it working 100% as nobody is capable of rewriting kexts from scratch

----------

you don't have to change anything in that mpkg, just follow post #22 like everyone else. You replace the file in your thumb drive, not the ISO. Dude, to be honest, just get 2GB ram. Forget about getting it to work with 512MB or 1GB. Its not gonna work, It will install but trust me, its pretty much useless.

Wait a minute, now i want install OSX Lion (not ML) in my macbook, i have the installer but i need remplace the min ram required for running it, people told me i need change the archive distribution contained in the osxinstall.mpkg but i don't know how change it, somebody could help me?

Problem is you should never have overwritten Lion, ML hack is still kinda like in beta, sleep n brightness doesn't work.

FORGET about running Lion or ML with just 1GB of RAM, 1GB of RAM simply isn't enough! Its like asking a 7 year old kid to carry 50kgs of items. And thats off topic by the way.

launchpad on X3100

I'm running ML on macbook 3.1 from an external flash drive (very slow if I make changes for understandable reasons), and what I did is following:
I kept the 2 kext files for 10.6.2 (which are 64bit) and Put the 2 plugins and the driver from the latest 10.7.4
So with this setup (mind you I'm on a slow flash drive) I can open Launchpad instantly and there is no delay, however I have not tried yet to actually open applications through Launchpad because I find it lame.
As hackerwayne already said, all those little things are gadgets that are not necessary. We have to concentrate the efforts on being able to control the brightness and on a second place to have sleep functioning. Those two are the real big problems on the X3100 hardware.

Hackerwayne, I reply to you without quoting... I know that I did a mistake in overwriting Lion, but there's not a way of solving my problem? With the kexts i have installed (the ones on post #22), the system run more smooth, but I can't still watch Youtube videos or any site in Flash. It's not only brightness and sleep that don't work... :)
I don't want to bother anyone, but I'm trying to understand what to do.

Sorry for my English, I'm Italian...

Your English is far better than mine :). Flash and Launchpad is suppose to be working, I would suggest a clean install because you might have the "newer" X3100 kexts from Lion (which are not 64bit), and kexts from post #22 are 10.6.2 ones, they are older than the one you've had, so it won't install. Backup with Time Machine and reinstall Lion, partition a 20GB HDD and start over again.

I don't get what you mean. If you say mean "why can't i do that", Ive already answered you. Lion or Mountain Lion NEEDS 2GB of RAM to run. Period.

¡Sorry! i wanted to say this:

Clear to me ok... but ¡please tell me how can do that!

Simple, upgrade to 2GB ram. Easily get them at $20 or less.

EDIT: Here > 2 x 1GB RAM for $15 with free shipping. Link

I don't violate nothing, all the topic violate the rights of apple... ML can not be installed on computers that do not support, it is illegal, also is talk of installing pirated copies of ML... you make me laugh.
