[Guide] Success! Install 10.8 on old unsupported Mac

Just a quick question about the 10.8.3 update. I haven't applied it yet but when I do, do I have to re-replace the PlatformSupport.plist and the boot.efi again and everything should be fine? I don't have the graphics hack that others use so that's not a problem. Just asking for clarification.

Right. To sum it up. MLPostFactor V0.2 Beta will fix the following issues:

1. KP on X3100 MacBooks when waking up from sleep FIXED

2. 7300GT, 7600GT Support ADDED

3. Bluetooth Not working. FIXED

4. iMessage, iCloud, FaceTime. Testing in Progress

5. mDNSResponder/Bonjour/Sharing. Not coming in V0.2

6. X1600 X64 Support No idea if we should launch it with V0.2

10.8.3 is still not supported at this point. The update bricked our patched OpenGL
Once we successfully launched V0.2 and if there are no other issues, we will launch V1.0 Beta.

I have hold back on installing it on my Mac Pro 2.1 now with HD 5870 graphics.
When I see the first page of this thread I see that it states Mac Pro users should wait till a update is available. peace with that.
Now I see that the 7300GT card is supported:confused:
Isn't the 7300GT the card that is original in the Mac Pro 1.1 and 2.1?

In short has any one installed this on their Mac Pro 1.1 or 2.1:confused:

I have successfully installed Mt Lion on on Macpro1,1 using Wayne's previous method. I even updated to 10.8.3. Everything works perfect.
I have an 8800 GT with a 32bit firmware flash. As I can recall from the prior method, it uses a modified boot.efi, mach_kernal and OSInstall.mkpkg. When I updated from 10.8.2 to 10.8.3, the only thing I had to remodify is the Platformsupport.plist and replace the 10.8.2 boot.efi. I even sill get Apple boot screen.
This thing runs sweet! Oh yeah, forgot, it still has the 8GB Ram limit

when can we expect 0.2 to go public?
and if i follow your guide now will i be able to upgrade to 0.2 without re-installing everything??

You'll have to reinstall ML. That's the reason for the Install partition and why he says to keep it.

V0.2 launch will be delayed as MLForAll is working on a package that will remove the last step /hack.command. It will be as easy as installing on a supported Mac. Everything else is finalized on my side. (bugs, supports, KP etc.) just waiting for his side to complete and i can package it.

2nd.
Did you name the partitions correctly? ML & Install.

Is it possible not to limit the naming of partitions?
 
is the problem with facetime and imessage fixed?

I really appreciate your effort on bringing ML on old Macs..
I have an A1811 Macbook white with GMA 950 and i cant wait for 0.2V so i can update it...
Wanted to do a ML install with 0.1 but then id have to re install everything again...
I hope the automated hack command comes today and you release it :D
Cant wait for all the new features...

Maybe you can release 0.1.2 without hack automation :D I don't mind that step :D
 
Installed with 10.8.0 App

Hello,

I have sucessfully installed with the 1.8.0 App and not the 10.8.2 App.

The question is: How to upgrade to 10.8.2 via Combo Update?

Can anyone confirm if external display support (thru mini dvi) works properly on Macbooks with GMA X3100 and version 0.2 or soon-to-be 0.3 of the hack?

I have a 10.8.0
I want to upgrade it to 10.8.2
Now i need to download ESD from some source and then copy it inside the app?
I cant seem to find the that ESD
Id really appreciate it if you can help me - i want to be prepared when 0.2 gets out :D
