Yet another person incapable of reading. I have no problem with anyone hacking things to get the OS installed on unsupported hardware. The problem lies when that person then gets pissy if someone hacks the files they hacked in the same manner. It's plain and simple hypricisy.

Do you really have to reject everyone else's opinions? Nobody likes haters :( and you were and still are being a jerk so please stop talking if you don't have anything useful to contribute!

for who still fight...

Ok steps are….

Install Lion and update till 10.7.5
Partition the drive (1 partition for install, around 9GB, and 2 partion for ML, bigger)
Copy MLPostFactor + last ML install (10.8.3) into application folder
Install ML using MLPostfactor into Install
Reboot and continue to install the OS onto ML partition
In the end of installation u will got an error, np quit the installer and go to Utilities in the fionder and look for MLPostfactor, start it and apply to ML partion.
Reboot and ML 10.8.3 is ready in your old machines

first tests? better of that Lion crap!

thx HW ; ))))

njoy ; )

@Rastafabi
I have tried all fixes avaiable for hackintosh regarding imessage fix but none of them worked
On my hp probook 4430s running a vanilla 10.8.3 is working fine
Regarding. Firewire messg that is normal on hackintosh 2 options
Disable in bios like I have done coz I dont use firewire or remove the kext
I think the imessg is something to do with UUID of machine I will try to change mine on fujitsu when I get home and also change macmodel in smbios plist same as probook

That's what happened to me right now, too, as I have the problem, that I just don't know which information are necessary to insert in the plist file. The guides I found only tell me to use my working chameleon boot plist informations and "import" them to clover (and add some specific strings to it), which I obviously do not have (and which is no option to me, as it requires legacy [BIOS] mode as far as I know.)

It would be great if you could send in a list of all your SMBIOS information you used and how you get those (without the exact information, of course). If you're using (for example) a (generated) UUID, than it would be helpful to know how you got it.
For now I tried to generate some settings using Champlist or Chameleon Wizard, but this does not seem to be sufficient.

----

Thanks about the firewire tip. As I don't need it, and don't have a BIOS I deleted any kext named IOFireWire...kext to improve my boot times.

Thanks for the quick update!

Happy to test the 64 bit version on my PM if that will help.

I assume you meant MP.. It would be the greatest thing ever achieved if it works on PM (PowerMacs) lol..

But i will look into what i can do with PowerMacs, just got 1 free unit that came in, PSU is giving problems but hey, its free nothing to complain about. Dual Core G5 OS X 10.5.8.. Obviously anything above 10.6 won't work, but maybe ill make a theme or some sort for 10.7<

J'attends avec excitation l'arrivée du 64b ; j'essaierai le QE/CI Exotic Patch 10.8.3 pour l'accélération quartz.

Merci pour votre travail.

I meant MP as in Mac Pro. Sorry for the typo! Again, happy to test on my Mac Pro! I also have an old G4.

My original iMac G4 would be super happy with a nice theme, although it's still on Tiger... Too slow! Damn 700MHz.

Well, if it doesn't work on Lion, not sure if it will on ML.

Don't really know how to say that in French (my french isn't that good lol!)

That thing would be a very nice hackintosh case ;) trash the original board and buy Intel NUC.. It has i3 in it.. Pretty neat huh.. Then hackintosh it. Tada! You've got yourself a iMac G4 that runs ML lol!

hehehe....I have a Dual Core G5 waiting for you.... lol

What´s the status of Private Beta for 32bit MLPF; do you find new bugs?

Thanks for your time Wayne.....

Yeah, some minor stuffs still to be fixed, the graphics glitch issue some reported it some said no, but i don't know till what extended cuz the only
"glitch" i had on my X1600 iMac is flashing Facebook Nav bar, which is a really small issue. If anyone has a video of that "serious" one please post here so i can take a look at it.

MLPostFactor not able to find "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app" in Application folder

MLPostFactor is not able to find "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app" in Applications folder even though I have placed both MLPostFactor and "Install OS X Mountain Lion.app" in the Applications folder. When I launch MLPostFactor I get the same message that could not find Install OS X Mountain Lion.app in Application folder.

Has anyone else faced the same issue? Really appreciate if you can suggest what could be the reason behind this.

i had that problem when i tried running it in SL 10.6.8 but as it isn't supposed to run in that version i was expecting something to go wrong. I just used another mac one which had ML already installed and created the install partition there and ran MLPostFactor then made a image of the partition and passed it to the mac i wanted to update and created the install partition there and restored the one i made in the mac with ML. That way i was able to install it. Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot samurayx89! I am also trying to upgrade from SL 10.6.8. Will try out your suggestion. Really appreciate your inputs.

Going to try this on my Late 2007 MacBook, running 10.7.5, this weekend. Unless it's recommended I wait until the .3 update.

Go for it!

No need to wait, unless you want to. It's just as easy to update as it is to do it clean. Plus, we really don't know when 0.3 will be out... As it seems Wayne has a few more things to iron out first. If you're impatient like me, I'd say go for it :D

Everything seemed to be working. I followed all the steps. Did the final reboot and it seems to be hung on the opening apple with a spinning indicator, for the last 2 hours. Not sure if I should try a hard reset (power button) or something else. Any thoughts?

What did you do after the "Install Failed" message?

As the step indicated.

Go to Utilities and select MLPostFactor apply it to the partition "ML"

I don't remember how I rebooted. I didn't hold anything down to select which partition to boot from either.

I had a little bit of trouble understanding what "Apply" meant until someone explained it to me.
After you select MLPF from the utilities menu you click "Continue" twice(I think) until you can select 10.8.2 or 10.8.3 and the partition where you installed ML.
After you make your choices and click "Continue" again installation will complete.
Then you quit the installer and select restart, where you will hopefully boot into ML.
If you have already done this and it still doesn't work, maybe someone else can help.

Won't recognise Mountain Lion

NEVER MIND JUST READ ABOVE POSTS, I AM INDEED RETARDED.

Hi, I tried using this installer but it won't recognise that ML is in the applications folder (see attached).

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an early 2008 macbook 4,1.

Any ideas?
