Well this is a new low for quality control for me - my brand new iPhone X was just delivered and there are fine hairline scratches all over the screen. One is especially noticeable. Total disgrace. I can't capture it on my iPhone 5C camera, but it's there. Please check your X with the screen off under a bright light when you open it to see for yourself. I am hoping my experience is a one off thing. I was very excited for this today, but I should have known better.
[doublepost=1509728854][/doublepost]Also, does anyone know what I should do now with my SIM cards if I have activated the new iPhone X with its new SIM card (Verizon). Should I take it out and put it in my old 5C? Does Apple need the new SIM card with the returned phone?
[doublepost=1510227234][/doublepost]I have been through a few of the iPhone X's and can confirm the scratches under the plastic. Before everyone picks on this person... until you experience it, don't harp on it. It's very frustrating when you spend $1000 plus on a new device with scratches. I have only experienced this with Apple products and never with Samsung.
We even opened a few in the store and under bright light you will see hairline scratches on front or back glass. You will be seeing a lot of threads popping up shortly when people finally notice them and say "OMG, the glass scratches so easy' and those scratches were on the X on day one. They just didn't notice.

I just wanted to start out by saying that this thread is comedy gold. Especially the legend who worked out how many iPads per year were returned based on 24 iPads bought in a 7 year period. Wow, that made me hurt I laughed so hard.
But, to business...
Both my units have hairline scratches which were visible once the film was removed. One also has machining marks on the steel.
They're both going back.
The screen scratches have to be because of the way they're handled during production. I've seen this on all iPhones back to the design of the iPhone 6.
I sympathise.
[doublepost=1510227404][/doublepost]I agree... it's no laughing matter. People work hard for money and buy products and don't expect products coming in new with hairline scratches. The iPhone X seems to be the worst of them all for hairline scratches. I guess the Chinese are in a rush to roll these out to iLovers who will except scratches like most here would. I wouldn't.

It just seems strange that every release you come out of the woodworks to claim you had to return your device. Is everyone else blind or are you really that unlucky like a black betty or something.
[doublepost=1510227516][/doublepost]If you were so lucky to have money and buy products and see the scratches you would be upset too. Don't think this person is making it up. I had several units with issues of scratches on my X. Returned them. Very bad quality control.

Aren't you the same person that said you've returned dozens of iPads?
Dozens! As in more than 24 returns.
Maybe it's time to consider the possibility that Apple products are not for you.
[doublepost=1510227681][/doublepost]It's people like you who need to buy other products and stop supporting crap quality and protecting Apple while they charge you to make tons of profits. I am all for Apple charging whatever they want, but they need to back it up with quality. No scratches on new devices. Period. Otherwise don't be a premium device robbing me of my hard earned money!

Yes, but my thread is about the screen being scratched out of the box from the factory, which is unacceptable.
[doublepost=1510106030][/doublepost]
I don't care what you believe.
[doublepost=1510227955][/doublepost]Believe it. I have had several units with same issues. We opened a few in store and sure enough both units had scratches. Genius baffled. go to apple.com/feedback and let them know about the poor quality coming off the assembly line in China!
