What boot settings did you change? I have a 2011 macbook pro

I was thinking about enabling trim (not using trim enabler) and I discovered that I have to run this command:
sudo nvram boot-args=”kext-dev-mode=1″

I had reboot to enable this and the first boot after Yosemite reported that my 5S was available for Continuity. Maybe I have bad install. Siri is down for me and I doubt other people are seeing the same problem.

yeah, had to move some over to other system.

having 8 slots is nice

WOW, I hope we don't need 88GB of RAM for it to work.:D

I have a 3,1 and also have the same "Allow Handoff..." under General. Are you also running iOS8? Have you had any luck with any part of Continuity?

Yeah I still cannot get it to work

I want to say don't waste time in troubleshooting this, but I refused to stop tinkering either and it finally worked.

More adventures:
My phone refused to send MMS and I had to reset network settings. That fixed my problem, but that changed my iPhone's name. Continuity then stopped working... see the fun we go through with a beta?

Sweet. Cannot wait :D.
my guess is this
with
this

We have already figured out that if you put a newer card(one with BTLE4.0) into an older machine it works perfectly sometimes you need an adapter most of the time you don't it depends on the machine you put it in, how old it is

Ah. Here I am still hoping that we can use a standard BT 4.0 USB module. Man, he was on earlier.

As of now no you can't thats been answered a lot on here. They may update that in future versions of 10.10 but as of now you can't sorry. Basically its looking for very specific cards (broadcom wireless/BT4.0LE cards) As of this DP there is no dongle that will make it work. realistically its not difficult to switch that card out at all (except mac pros they get a little tricky because pre nMP BT and wireless were 2 different cards) all you do is open your system and swap your wifi/BT card with a newer one. Right now the cards are going for ~$40.
Im still holding out that this might change by launch but probably not

Actually, there is one working dongle. This one. Also, yeah, it looks for a specific one, so I though MacVidCards had modified a kext to 'broaden' the search. I have a IOGear dongle that uses a Broadcom chip 2 revisions newer than the one required for Handoff. My MacPro1,1 (Hacked Yose) has compatibility for the AirPort/Bluetooth without any major hacking (still needs adaptor) and my Late 2011 MBP can (and probably will) be upgraded to a 2012 card. I'd still like to wait and see what MacVidCard has, along with more people working on what defines a Mac saying Yay/Nay on a dongle.

EDIT: Looking through his posts, yes, it is probably what you linked to.

That dongle is a mpcie-> usb adapter. Look at the chip on it, its the broadcom94322. its the same idea as what I posted just a smaller form. Thats all thats going to work on this DP.

I am fully aware, just saying there is a dongle (I can be a smart-ass)

I have a Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010, will Continuity work for me? (I have an iPhone 5S so I know I'm fine on that end)

Guys, you are leaping and jumping to conclusions. I don't have the USB dongle from china. I made my own and will be making more. Similar to the China one, but done differently.

Connected externally via USB and fully functioning in 10.10.

Only caveat is that you have to cycle the internal USB off. Working on that.
