There's nothing to fix.
I know people mock this but I used to think it was stupid and someone on this board made a very reasonable post on why it is 100% intentional. Many people haven't used wireless mice and having the charge port in any place that might allow it to be used while charging would be confusing. So the most impossible charging cable location for charging and using it is the bottom. Apple 100% knows what they are doing and you might not like it but it's not a mistake or oversight. It is working as intended.

And it's still a stupid, epic fail for working professionals relying on it. Apple does not know 100% what they are doing because this is still a problem for those of us working in the field. The mockery is so well deserved!

I'm really sorry if dumb people get confused about charging cables (OK, I'm really not sorry).

I gotta give Apple credit. They placed yellow lights below the iMac and got people geeking out over it in this thread like its a brand new machine.

I wish Apple would let you run tvOS as an App on these things. Full remote integration and everything. Would be cool to have a powerful computer and TV entertainment device in one. Would be perfect for my basement movie theater build I’m going to be working on in the coming year.

Yeah, I'm sure they never thought about this when they were designing it.
I had 4 Macs which died of heat:
2008 MBP 14
2011 MBP 17
2011 iMac
Mac mini (forgot the year, but old)

iMac and MBPros, had that heat issue when the GPUs started to get unsoldered.
I took so much care of those and for nothing.
MacMini had its Power Supply module overheating.

You can be as sure as you want, I know I am 😀

The more I see that little thing, the more I love it. I wish it came in black! I hope Colorware does these. They are the perfect size for it.

I must say that I prefer the flatter slimmer Mac Mini to the newer phatboy. That's partly aesthetics (I like it low and slim), but also ergonomics: I like the power button on the rear, I need more than 3 USB/Thunderbolt ports on the back, I don't like cables permanently connected to the front (front is nice just for hot plugging on the go), and I am concerned that the smaller footprint may cause fan noise or thermal throttling ... whereas the flat Mini is an absolute gem in this regard: no noise, and never heard fan.

This is going to be a very popular Mac especially at this starting price for all the features power and finally 16g! The size and weight makes it versatile and mobile from office to home and travel. Wish they finally release some AR glasses to go with it …

That remains the only question in my mind: noise. Apple claims it is only 5dB at normal sitting distance, but I don't know under what conditions they tested it.

Many of the tiny NUC-like PCs are noisy because the fans work so hard.

I can’t believe they still didn’t fix the mouse

You can choose to not buy Apple Mouse. Just get a MX Master 3s and you're good to go, it has Bluetooth 5 and charges through USB-C at the front. Go with Mac edition if you want the white one.

I suspect the reason is a lot simpler. Jony Ive simply didn't want a charge port marring the glass top of the Magic Mouse, so it hid it underneath where it's out of sight, out of mind.

I think the design choice for the port is quite funny. With Apple, you’re used to seeing aesthetically pleasing designs, and this thing charging looks ridiculous. However, on the one occasion I missed the battery level, I only had to have it plugged in for about 15 minutes to get quite a few hours worth of use out of it, and then I just charged it over night fully.

I have the battery widget in the corner of my screen so I can keep an eye on just that, along with my keyboard, so if I can see it’s getting low I can prepare for that. But even in my older iMac I used to have the Bluetooth icon in the Menubar so I could just click to battery levels: is this something that people just don’t do now? I do wish you’d get a notification like you do in iOS/WatchOS, but keeping tabs yourself is kinda’ what you have to do with battery devices isn’t it?

The new mini is definitely much smaller. Looking forward to seeing photos and videos in the coming days.

I wish I had a reason to buy one of those colorful iMacs. I wanted a colored mac since the original launch of the imac in 1998 by Steve Jobs.

why make a device that is always on the desk so small? Make something we carry every day smaller!
More space is more space 🤷‍♂️. You can't complain about the specs so you invent a problem to complain about, is that what's happening?
