Hello. I have used cases from Codi Inc. for well over 10 years and they have been fantastic. http://www.codidirect.com/store/index.html . Service is great as well. They are a little pricey, but I just bought a Workstation Plus for my soon to arrive MBP 2.6 and they have a sleeve you can put inside it for extra protection. Works very well so far with my old PBG4. My old Codi case saved my PBG4 from a fall on an airport runway and a fall down the steps. They are great!

Good luck.

I noticed on mine that they seem to go by truck after Arnhem. Mine went from Arnhem to Helsingborg yesterday and i doubt that anyone would fly that route while going to Finland. :)
Well, I hope both yours and mine will arrive for the weekend.

Funny - yours has moved faster than mine. Left Shanghai at 15.55 on 25/11 but still hasn't reached Arnhem yet. Hmmm. Gonna be a long few days... My estimated delivery was 28/11 to 4/12. Reckon you're gonna beat me to it though!

mine finally is in que to ship... if its not here friday (I paid for the 2 day shipping) I'll be very disappointed and mac-less over the weekend:eek:

Got mine this morning (UK) - I almost never woke up for the delivery man!

Installed my 4GB crucial RAM with no problems

Didnt get my firewire transfer cable i ordered from ebay so i ended up just manually copying my stuff over. This thing is just WOW. the build quality and attention to detail on its design is amazing - such a step up from a mac mini lol

Leopard seems a nice step up too

Now to try out converting some videos for my ipod Touch and really see the speed difference

Ours where on the same plane from Shanghai. I'm just curious, when was your original delivery planed?
Mine is still on route and I'm actually starting to think TNT knows Apple told me to expect it by the 5th of December.
Well, i'll get it when i get it.

On another forum or something, I saw someone else had their MBP in Arnhem and it was in Bristol (UK) the very next day and delivered!!!

I hope it isn't by truck - in this day and age, it is crazy it takes 5 days for something to be delivered. I wonder if they ship out everyday from there or in batches every other day?

I hope i don't have to wait over the weekend, but knowing my luck :(

My original estimated delivery date from apple was 3rd December - TNT didn't give me an estimated date at all. Mine got to me 2 days after it passed through the Arnhem hub

tomorrow!

I missed the FedEx guy today (@^%#!!), but they are re-delivering my MBP tomorrow!

I am camping out on the porch ...

I am so psyched!!!

Hope you all get yours early!

Spread the iLove! :)

I just ordered mine yesterday :D so excited and I can't wait to get it. I think they are still customizing my order. 2.6, 17" with 200 (7200rpm) hdd. I just went for 2GB ram and buy the upgrading RAM (to 4GB) from OWC since it's so much cheaper. I see everyone is loving theirs and I just can't wait for my Powerbook G4 (maybe PowerMac G5 as well) replacement to arrive next week. :) I also got the Panasonic SD5 HD camcorder so I will be able to record our expecting baby boy :). I hope the new 2.6 C2D cpu can handle AVCHD relatively well. If anyone have tried encoding videos on their new MacBook Pros, please let me know how that feels, thanks!

Expected Delivery 30th Nov - 5th Dec...

Out for delivery today from Nottingham UK 29th! whoohooo!

I phoned TNT to confirm - I am happy now (well will be even more happier when it comes into my hands!) ;o)

Got my 2.6/250/17" glossy on monday. Immediately upgraded the RAM, installed bootcamp, vmware (this is my first mac), and have been enjoying it since then.

I'm amazed by how responsive it is, how fast it boots, etc. Office in fusion is also remarkably responsive.

I've been using a Panasonic SD5 since it came out, a couple of months I guess. I'm also in the market for a new MBP to replace my 12" PowerBook G4. There is no real urgency for me to do so since I do video editing on my MacPro Quad 3Ghz. I can tell you that even on this very powerful machine, downloading AVCHD files is extremely slow. It happens in "real time" at best. I put the 4Gb SDHC card in a reader and plug it in to the USB on the front of my MacPro. I am led to believe that this is the most efficient way to move the data, but I'd sure be happy if someone could tell me of a faster way. Thirty minutes of video takes about thirty minutes to download. AVCHD is a relatively new, advanced format. Hopefully improvements will be forthcoming. On the plus side, the camera works beautifully and the images are spectacular. Contrary to much of what we've been hearing iMovie 08 is fine. Now Final Cut Express handles AVCHD too, but I haven't tried it yet.

So back to your question, my sense is that your new MBP will have similar performance with AVCHD as my MacPro, maybe a hair slower. SpeedMark tests available online may give you some point of reference for that. I'm waiting until Mac World in January to buy a new MBP so I can take my video "on the road". I'm not sure if Penryn will significantly improve MBP performance with AVCHD, but because it is such a power intensive process I want every ounce of juice I can get. I look forward to putting video up on iWeb in almost real time as I travel!

Congrats on both of your purchases: you've got a couple of very cool new toys! Enjoy!

Well here it is - got it today at 1400.

Points to note, it comes with Leopard installed. The installs CD's however have OS X for Mac Computers rather than the traditional MBP install CD's or Macbook Install and iMac...

Are they just going to have one set now? I wonder if they will install on other computers?

The instruction book also has new screen shots, surely they wouldn't bother updating these if a new design was around the corner? who knows...

How's the LED screen?

Does the screen still have the yellow tint when looked from the side? Please enlightened me.

Cheers!

The side? yes

The Bottom portion? Just a little. enough that can I tell, but no one else in the house can. There's a slight tinge to it, but it is ONLY visible on a solid white web page, or some such window. While playing games, and such, it is not noticable. The lower you go on the screen, the more the yellow tinge increases. I wouldn't say it's becuase the backlights are actuall yellow, I'd say that is is just uneven back lighting, which has been widely reported on as par these forums. It seems to just be a growing pain with the new LED screen technology.

And for those wondering, it's a samsung screen.

I keep thinking about taking it back, but I have no dead pixels, and everything else is PERFECT with this laptop.

Average run temp of CPU while I encode/decode, play games, etc. is somewhere in the high 160s, low 170s, with the bottom of the case reaching somewhere in the lower 100-110, all degrees in F. Changed the fan settings using Fan Control. Lowered the threshold for the fans to really kick in by about 10 degrees

Toasty toasty!!!

Where can i find out my temperatures? is there a built in tool in leopard or some downloaded app which is telling you this?

iStat Pro - It's a widget for dashboard you can download strait from Apple's website.

Shows you all the information you'd ever want

mines in anchorage... If it gets to me tomorrow I will be ecstatic... but Im not getting my hopes up... Do they usually make it to memphis the same day as AK?
