Investment? How so?
You don't want to tarnish the image of company's product you just purchased at a MSRP that is the highest to date. This will affect your appreciation of the product and the satisfaction you gain from it... giving you a negative return on your investment.

Have at it. You’ll show them.

I’m not an attorney so I’m not sure how I will “show them” anything. The way you jump to conclusions is disturbing.

Let me say again, I am following the events as they unfold through to the outcome of the suits. That holds more meaning to me than keyboard arguments.

The baseless class-action lawsuits are worse than the the accusations that Apple is supposedly guilty of.

Supporting the sleazy lawyers who make a living out of hurting others in the name of Apple having hurt others. Irony.

I haven’t read all the details of the cases, but I doubt they are all baseless. Either way, it’s for the courts to decide.

Don't worry. I got these guys. ;)

Apple circumvented their own Low Power Mode with hidden negative option throttling. And people reported them doing this on phones with adequate batteries. This is unveiled planned obsolescence and the response should be severe.

Oh I don’t care about that. I am paying $500 for my X and I love it. Just tired of the people whining in a forum about some bad batteries in phones.

Not really. It’s a phone. My appreciation and enjoyment of it isn’t tied to people’s perceptions of the product or the company that made it. That’s just a fancy way of saying that you bought something due to what other people think of it.

It can be argued of such when you display it as a badge in your signature and/or maybe even list what you paid for it. I mean, who cares if you bought an X or how much you paid for it? Apparently, others should.

And what I have noticed in reading these and other threads is that those with X are very reactive to any negative Apple news, verses those with older models. Some people in my other forum calls iPhone X a 'luxury' item. I disagree, but to them, it is a very personal thing. Much more than 'just a phone'. A phone doesn't cost $999.

I find it ironic that you complain about others whining and how they need to move on... and yet here you are doing the exact same thing

Pot... meet kettle :p

I mean it’s so easy to just click on a different topic or *gasp* just not respond!

I do it all the time.

You’ll notice that I have no such signature, and I only mention what devices I have when it’s relevant.

I agree that it’s more than just a “phone” in the sense that every smartphone in this day and age is now more than just a “phone”. You’re right though, many people actually see their phone as part of their personal identity, which I find... unfortunate.

I agree.

Since news of the scandal broke, I have purchased 3 iPhone X's, 3 iPhone X leather cases, 4 Apple Care Warranties, 1 Apple Watch, and 1 Apple Watch strap.

There's your response.

VW cheats, and yes, the environmental impact is a whole different level of wrongdoing than what we're talking about here. But the fix...

The fix involves a power reduction. Yet the outcome is owners getting paid out above market value. And there's still outrage and mass boycotting.

Apple screws you over and it seems half the forum thinks it's inconsequential.

VW won’t be effected much, they’ll still be one of the top three largest auto manufacturers despite the emissions scandal

Of course. It's a non issue. In my opinion, Apple should have just let the bad batteries die. Instead they tried to do the right thing and extend the lives of peoples phones. People on here also for some reason think Apple owes them something.

Yes, they should have let my battery just die. I would have replaced it rather than upgrade, thinking my phone was just slow. I made a decision and needlessly spent more money based on incorrect and concealed information. Information posted here suggests my battery may have not even needed replacement. Lose/lose.

Have your car's power secretly reduced by 60% to maintain parts that need replacement and you'd be calling for someone's head.

Yet the repercussions were severe.

Apple is even better positioned to weather such a storm. And it should be imposed upon them.

has Apple stopped throttling perfectly good (by their own tests) phones yet?

no?

Not enough outrage.
