Here's why:
Apple's demographic are people who can afford a new phone every 2 years and thus we never have slow phones. Those who are complaining are looking for the tooth fairy, a phone that can last 5 years without a slowdown. It's not happening.
It's not Apple being manipulative. It's Craigslist types being unrealistic. And looking for a handout. And acting entitled. And looking to this forum as a safe space.

Corporations are filled with people who work hard and who work long hours and have families. Attacking these people is anti-humanity.
And if you opened your eyes and considered the big picture, look at what Apple has delivered to the world in the past decade, it's the most exceptional run any corporation has had since Edison invented the lightbulb. And you want them to be punished over some phony conspiracy around a couple of lines of code? Not happening. Apple is to be applauded for their efforts, the people who work for them are to be appreciated, and these types of posts are inappropriate. This isn't a safe space. We tell it like it is here.

Today at work, we were talking about this batterygate. I guess most my coworker will get replacement battery. They are not happy with how Apple do things.
I wouldn't call Huawei is no name brand. This brand gets your country's Congress against this company. Majority of Canadian cellphone carrier use this Huawei equipment for cellaur service. This company is third largest cellphone maker. Fifth most innovative company in the world according to Forbs.
So I won't call Huawei is no name company.
Why am I here. Because i also brought iPhone 6, 6S and my wife has SE. Though no more Apple purchase from now on.
Very few iPhone fans have even read this thread, didn't even open it based on its title. When people don't have speed issues on their iPhone's they don't pay any attention.
I have never heard of Hawaii phones. But if they were so important you wouldn't be in an Apple forum, you'd be in the Hyundai forum talking about Hyundai phones and how great they are. I love my BMW's. You don't see me in Audi forums every time they have a PR problem.

Bottom line. Why wasn't the issue disclosed? Why did it take a high school student to get Apple to respond? Offer concessions, and now face lawsuits? All of this is an overreaction? Thought so.
A lot of people here are tech enthusiasts, not just Apple enthusiasts. Anyone who's never heard of Huawei must not really follow smartphones/mobile tech beyond Apple and Samsung.
Admire your Apple enthusiasm.

I suspect there are many people who never look past the Apple ecosystem. Not that surprising to me.
I know, but strangely there's no shortage of people who can tell you why Apple is the best and everything else is inferior, even though they can't even name an Android phone outside of the Galaxy lines.
Obviously I'm an iPhone fan myself, otherwise I wouldn't be here, but that doesn't have to mean being ignorant of everything else. I love reading about, watching videos, and playing around with any smartphones. If Apple ever really let me down with this or any other "gate", I'm already familiar with impressive Android alternatives. I don't believe in so-called brand loyalty. I think that everyone should vote with their dollars, and understand that unless the company is a charity, that's all they really care about.

But, if you are talking about giving the iPhone an 8827 mAh battery, you aren't just talking "a few grams and mils", you're talking about a phone twice as thick and heavy as the 4s, which would not only BE a proverbial lead balloon, but can you IMAGINE the REVIEWS?!? NO amount of battery-life would make THAT phone sell!

Apple's stock is big enough to have political weight applied to it. Remember, the name of the game is "destabilization".
I follow the brands I respect and own. So I follow Apple and not any of those Android knock-offs. In fact, if it weren't for the Android references in this forum, I wouldn't even know that Android exists. Just like as a Rolex owner, I don't know anything about what Casio, Timex, or Omega are up to.

Like I said, no shortage of people willing to tell you why Apple is the best, with zero knowledge of the competition.
I watched a video two weeks ago where a blogger was giving his 2017 smartphone of the year awards just to see where the iPhone X placed, and in that 8 minutes of wasted time I was subjected to commentary about a handful of Android phones and my takeaway is that Android is all about oversized screens (I am not a Plus person), gaming capabilities (I'm an important executive), speakers (for those who can't afford a Bluetooth speaker), and cameras (iPhone won that category).
So please don't assume we're ignorant. Adults just aren't interested in what Android offers, it's more of a teen's plaything for streaming action movies without owning a decent TV, playing shoot-'em-up games without owning a good console, and creating YouTube videos so people notice him. This isn't much different than Apple vs. Razer in the PC world. Professionals have the money and need for the elegant experience offered by Mac and the students and modders build their own computers on the cheap with neon ground effects.

What I know about Android is that they stole everything iPhone innovated. From the hardware to the software, from the touch interface to the OS, it's a complete knock off. As such, I have no respect for it in the same way as a Rolex owner I have no respect for Invicta which is a shameless Rolex copywatch company.
I don't know whether or not Apple is the best. I merely know that the iPhone suits my needs so well that I don't need to look at any other so-called competitor. No different than my wife. I am extremely happy so I have no reason to check out every skirt that walks by.
FYI, I exclusively run Windows 10 on my MacBook. Again, it suits my needs and I don't like Mac OS nor do I want to learn it.

I'm glad that an 8 minute YouTube video of a single person's subjective commentary brought you up to speed on the world of Android smartphones, but it's funny that your takeaway was that Android phones are the toys that kids want and iPhones are for grown-up professionals. As it is, the larger screens, open file system, customizable widgets, transferable storage, stylus support (Galaxy Note, of course), and other features actually make it hard to argue that iPhones are the best productivity devices. Do you know which phone is hugely popular with teenagers, notably more so than working adults?

You have made some very broad generalizations based of limited data.
The whole touch screen, touch interface was not created by Apple. God, all these touch gestures were being created before Apple announced iPhone.
Touch screen were not new. Microsoft demonstrated Pixel Sense before iPhone. It was gaint table with projectors and sensor that mounted on the table. People can manipulate items on the table. Including swipe, moving imagine around. LG also announced the touchscreen before iPhone.
The whole thing about Apple created touchscreen and touch interface was dumb. It was created by Apple. It was created by scientist around world, Apple was only part of it.
That is craziness. I spent most of my career supporting Windows machines and I despise having to use them. I like Mac OS for the same reason I like iPhones. I don't want to spend all of my time fussing with a computer. When I need it, I just want to use it. My Mac and my iPhone just work when I need them.
I used to work at a computer store while I was attending University. The amount of Mac being sent to our store to get fixed we're not less than Windows machines.
Of course we get lots of people buying the Mac and ask us to install Windows on Mac. If Apple weren't allow Windows runs on Mac, Mac would never take off.
The non-stop patch installation on Windows machines is a giant time suck. Patching servers and workstations was a large part of my job for years. When I have to pull out my Windows laptop, it takes forever to catch up on all of the patches before I can use it. Without the patches, a Windows machine is a giant security problem. My Mac doesn't need constant patching. I just use it.
Please note the comment regarding Plus-size phones not getting as many complaints as non-Plus versions. I expect a 4.7" iPhone with ~2500 mAh battery wouldn't be unreasonably thicker and heavier.
We have an 2017 iPad and iPad Air in the household so I do have an idea how large and heavy that 8827 mAh battery is. Mind, 2017 iPad has crazy long battery life. Really wish Apple had kept that battery size for the Air 2 and Pro 9.7.
Its a tech forum, not some rally with a large gathering defending Apple. Tech forums are a strong vocal minority, but DNichter stated Apple could have been more open about the throttling, but didn't believe this was much as an issue as it is to some. That's somewhat this thread is about.
