Okay, so I took some advice, and I retook my pictures.
Here is the new photo of the Roses I took.
-2,0,+2 I go easy on the tone mapping because I dont want it to look too fake, more like a painting.
any suggestions? Be blunt because I need to learn.

First time taking HDR pictures.
Give constructive criticism please.
I need to take 10 good HDR pictures for my photography class this month and would like suggestions.
I will eventually buy photomatix or just use photoshop at school.
And I know that the light is blurry so maybe I will try it later with different exposures of the 8 I took.
While I actually like the photographs, I don't think they really benefited from HDR really. Very nice shots though.
Thanks.
I live in a town with no buildings over 3 stories so there are not any good cityscapes.
I do not have that good of an idea of what pictures would look good to take then put in HDR.
Most of these posts have large buildings and clouds. Are there any other things that turn out in HDR well.
Anything can benefit from HDR, but it all depends on when you take the photo really. Unless you have lots of bright sections as well as dark sections, you won't get the most out of HDR.
Just keep experimenting with different times of day, and different things to see what works best for you. I find that just after sunset, when the sky is still a little blue, but getting darker helps to bring out some of the nicer pictures. I'm a big fan of HDR sunsets personally.
Here's something you could try, go back to where you took those photographs, but take them at a later time. Wait until the sun has started to set, and then take some photos. Wait around a little longer and then take some more photos, maybe an hour after. See which ones you like, maybe you'll find something that works for you.
I just bought Photomatix this weekend and here is what I cooked up for an Enzo.
Overcooked, IMO.
I like your second Enzo shot much better.
