This was my first attempt of changing the exposures with the camera and not iphoto. I believe this shot was a compilation of 5 different pictures. Please post your comments and critiques.

P.S. I would also be interested in understanding how some of you get the full comic/video game look. I have been playing with photomatrix and can't seem to obtain that look.

tell me what you guys think. p&s 8.1 mp don't have a dlsr yet

what were you thinking when you made the first one? 30% of the frame is like pure black and then the all the highlights are blown too. => this is not what hdr implies.

the last to are a before and after i guess. nothing in the top one said: "i need more dynamic range", so no good hdr.

besides these technical flaws: hdr doesn't make uninteresting photos non boring. you still need good motives/composition/etc.

@spaceboots06 - I think you're getting the main idea from the last two pics (before/after). HDR has brought out more details in the foreground chairs. But unfortunately other parts of the photo have lost too much contrast so in this case it might have been better to just isolate the chairs and increase exposure and leave everything else as shot. Have a look here.

That's an adorable picture. It has a great paint-like quality to it. The only thing I might try different would be to remove the background, or have a textureless floor, as they're both a little distracting.

Wow, i was expecting you to have said something douche like. Thanks, and i was thinking the same thing, but that pic is old! its from a point n shoot sony that i just processed for the weekly photo contest (theme: dogs). I was thinking i should add vignetting(i think thats the term).

posted these in the photo of the day, but I think they belong here too.

these were taken at Merrill Creek Reservoir in Warren County NJ. Tried also taking pictures of the Osprey and Bald Eagles, but definitely need a 400mm lens for that, at LEAST.
