Once you get to the recovery screen in Internet recovery, can you use Disk Utility to erase the entire disk. You can do that by going to the erase tab and selecting the the drive itself at the top of the left column, then erase to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). After doing that, quit Disk Util then reinstall.Yes I can do the command-ctrl-r thing and it was running fine with the beta. I wanted to wipe it and do a clean setup. and then it all fell apart

Just keep waiting. It has to download about 8GB over the Internet to do that install, so it ca take a while. It has gone up to 26 minutes remaining and is just staying there.

Yeah... maybe give it another hour and see if it progresses though. What is your Internet download speed like?It has still not moved. should I try to create an install usb stick from my MacBook?

Other than the USB key, not really. The wireless is pretty quick. That device is not the only thing on it but I would think that after a couple of hours something should have happened. Are there other options if it just stalls out and never completes?
How do I make a USB to do an install and then how do I use it?Other than the USB key, not really.
I came in today and it is still at 26 minutes remaining. What can I do to get past this? How do I make a USB to do an install and then how do I use it?

You have something odd going on there. Normally there would be only one core storage volume listed that is the Fusion'd single logical volume.
Run this and tell me what it says. This will show the layout of the core storage volume.
Code:diskutil cs list
Can you explain why you did this top begin with (what was the problem) and what you have done so far?Hello,
So the same thing is happening to my MacBook pro from 2009, but when I put in that code into terminal it says "no coreStorage logical volume groups found"
I am really confused and I have tried everything I have read. Nothing has worked. I know it was over a year ago since you wrote this reply but I would really appreciate it if you could help! Thank you.

If you did not do anything that might have caused this, and it did it all on its own, it sounds like you may have a bad drive there. The operating system would not just disappear like that for no reason.Well, one a couple days ago I turned on my MacBook and there was a list of recovery options as soon as it turned on, I tried clicking on the "reinstall os x" option and when I tried clicking on the "recovery hd" disk ( which was my only option) it said "locked". So I came on here and tried what you said to help others, so, I tried typing in "diskutil cs list" into terminal and it came back saying "no coreStorage logical volume groups found". As you can imagine this whole situation sucked because I need my MacBook to do school and work projects. If you could help me figure out what to do that would really help
Can you tell us more about what is going on. What model and year Mac do you have? Describe exactly what happened to get you in this spot and what you did.Can I have some help on this too?
What macOS version are you on? Are you sure you "purchased" that OS version from the App Store using that same AppleID?I have got a 2007 Imac and I am trying to reinstall OS X on it. When i get to put in my password and email it says that this item is unavailable and to try again later. I have tried using the Recovery HD, but that is locked out too
