Oh good... so you can command-option-r boot then get the spinning globe then the recovery screen?

Was everything working fine before you started playing around with the beta?
Yes I can do the command-ctrl-r thing and it was running fine with the beta. I wanted to wipe it and do a clean setup. and then it all fell apart

Once you get to the recovery screen in Internet recovery, can you use Disk Utility to erase the entire disk. You can do that by going to the erase tab and selecting the the drive itself at the top of the left column, then erase to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). After doing that, quit Disk Util then reinstall.

Yeah... maybe give it another hour and see if it progresses though. What is your Internet download speed like?

The wireless is pretty quick. That device is not the only thing on it but I would think that after a couple of hours something should have happened. Are there other options if it just stalls out and never completes?

Other than the USB key, not really.

I came in today and it is still at 26 minutes remaining. What can I do to get past this?
Was everything working fine before you tried to install this beta? No problems at all?

You can follow this to make a Sierra USB installer, then option key boot to that and erase and install.

Hello

It would be awesome if someone can help me out. Tried doing everything last night for 3 hrs and still no luck. I'm stuck in re installing the OS as it restarts midway installing the new OS or from my backup.

I have an early macbook 2016.

I did the command + option + R and even just the command + R it keeps restarting while installing the OS.

I have no problem erasing and doing the first aid on the SSD. It doesn't show any errors.

My real problem is everytime installing the OS or from my back up. I will get into the installing part midway it will restart out of nowhere.

Thanks for those who will help me out.

You have something odd going on there. Normally there would be only one core storage volume listed that is the Fusion'd single logical volume.

Run this and tell me what it says. This will show the layout of the core storage volume.

Code:
diskutil cs list

Hello,

So the same thing is happening to my MacBook pro from 2009, but when I put in that code into terminal it says "no coreStorage logical volume groups found"
I am really confused and I have tried everything I have read. Nothing has worked. I know it was over a year ago since you wrote this reply but I would really appreciate it if you could help! Thank you.

Can you explain why you did this top begin with (what was the problem) and what you have done so far?

Well, one a couple days ago I turned on my MacBook and there was a list of recovery options as soon as it turned on, I tried clicking on the "reinstall os x" option and when I tried clicking on the "recovery hd" disk ( which was my only option) it said "locked". So I came on here and tried what you said to help others, so, I tried typing in "diskutil cs list" into terminal and it came back saying "no coreStorage logical volume groups found". As you can imagine this whole situation sucked because I need my MacBook to do school and work projects. If you could help me figure out what to do that would really help :)

If you did not do anything that might have caused this, and it did it all on its own, it sounds like you may have a bad drive there. The operating system would not just disappear like that for no reason.

If it boots to recovery, what do you see if you start Disk Utility? Can you see the internal drive?

I have got a 2007 Imac and I am trying to reinstall OS X on it. When i get to put in my password and email it says that this item is unavailable and to try again later. I have tried using the Recovery HD, but that is locked out too

What macOS version are you on? Are you sure you "purchased" that OS version from the App Store using that same AppleID?
