Your Bambou looks different in that pic, to these eyes.

So @toxtrepla says some of his older ones have the new style and vice versa. So I guess they’re getting rid of the old style still. The Hermès legend is also chunkier and deeper embossed.

And the 40mm ambre has YET another legend style! I’ve blown out the exposure a little to aid us. That’s a 2019 etain/beton far right.

Yeah it’s the only reason I bring it up. But are there really fakes out there that do all the markings? I feel like the Taobao ones have a ton of marking but are almost intentionally wrong. I’d love to see some fakes though.

The “stainless steel” etching is no where as detailed or nice as the real one. It looks like they’ve just printed it onto the metal. The font is also different.

Also the “Hermès” font is different and easily distinguishable from the real one.

Yeah I think that’s a TaoBao. Funny how my 40mm ambre etching kinda looks like that now.

Do you ever feel obligated to use the Hermès faces? It was easy when I got my S4 because the Hermès faces were good looking while the others weren’t very inspiring. The only problem was that the Hermès faces didn’t have much info on them. It was on purpose to have the Hermès faces look like watch dials. When the new faces came out with the S5 I started to feel the confliction. I would use the blue watch face that tells the different phases of sunset and sunrise, but felt obligated to go back and use one of the Hermès faces since I paid extra for them, and they look good.

I almost always use the Hermes faces as I like them the best. Watch OS7 does have the new Hermes faces that have the multiple complications in them so you can have the best of both worlds.

Can you check if the buckle still looks the same when viewed from the side? That was/is IMO the best way to check fakes we had so far (the left style is original Hermès).

Today my Hermes box pile reached the absolute ceiling of its shelf in my IKEA bookcase...tomorrow I get ambre and rouge. So yes “credentials” is a nice way to put it. I would be willing to bet someone with Birkin bag knowledge would say the color holds up. I just did a quick run through all the “Hermes leather guides” and was reminded Gulliver/Swift is known for its ability to really pick up dye and make the color shine...and again there’s just a nice protective feel to the grain...

As for the Hermes sport band, I can also recommend the eBay guy, I’ve gotten a few for $115 and lucky to score one for $80 plus $14 UK shipping I shared with three other bands. Here’s one with a space black pin I posted earlier this week but I realized didn’t quite read as such because the silver pin is so reflective:

It definitely does. All stainless steel models get that perk. Damn I wish they would offer a black cable with black steel

I have 2 unused Hermes orange sport bands 44mm M/L, but not even sure about the going price these days. I’ll post in the marketplace if I decide to sell Them.

I’ve always used them as I think they are the beat looking (although to be fair OS7 has a lot of nice ones now)... but with Circulaire that point is moot too.

Those have been modified. I am not aware of Hermès ever selling orange sport bands with anything other than a stainless steel pin.

The people in the factory seem to be free to mix and match. I have midnight blue2 and white2 with gold pins. Bought out in the open on eBay too, unlike the Hermes sorcery. Will post pics of the new buckle curves tomorrow, got tied up in a braid and PReds today.

Yeah if theres not a linear progression and a discontinuity of one style for another...I’m way less interested in keeping track. Obviously these buckles have little to do with Apple Watch specifically.

Taking inspiration from a few posts back, here’s my 42mm/44mm Hermès collection. The rest are attainable... but alas the Medor Deep Blue may be the one that got away. Though, the Etain only did take 3 years of searching to acquire...

The Noir/Blanc/Gold is in the mail. But to get or not to get the latest season? I feared I’d missed the Orange so glad to see it reissued. Deep Blue Medor on the other hand is probably a case of “will never be able to get”?!
