Joining in with my new Hermès double tour band. I love this watch so much and I totally forgot how great stainless steel feels. For the past couple of years I had aluminum watches and they just don’t compare

Another new member of the Hermés club here ? Thanks to everyone in this thread for your useful information and input!

After stalking the EU Hermès sites for a 44mm stainless steel with the étoupe strap for a month, I finally managed to order one last week. Got it yesterday, and I am completely in love! ? I'm so happy I didn't settle for another color, which I was close to doing many times (navy, fauve or noir with black hardware). I wanted a neutral color that works with most other colors and clothes. Étoupe is just perfect, pictures don't do it justice! It's much lighter than the picture below IRL. The contrasting stitching is also great.

Now I need a noir or indigo strap with silver hardware to have a black-ish strap too. There is a noir/blanc strap available on the Hermès website that I like and could perhaps do with instead of a full black. I like that it has a matching watch face! Does anyone have that strap? Does the white part stain easily?

etoupe is gorgeous!!

i have the noir / blanc, and while i haven’t ever stained it i am definitely more careful when i’m wearing it, especially for things like washing dishes.

so... i didn’t want to do this, but i did.

this is the result of someone combining a noir single tour with black hardware and an ebony deployment buckle band, resulting in a noir with silver deployment, and ebony with black.

the ebony isn’t my absolute favorite color, but i love the contrasting stitching (i also have the ebony deployment) and i loooove having another band with matching hardware for the black ss. i MIGHT see if a local watch shop can actually switch the hardware with one of my other colors that might go even better with the black.

I would keep it as is. The Ébène looks great on the black Watch. (And I usually don‘t even like black Watches.)

Bought it at the Hermès Store. They allow you to purchase the watch, and choose any strap they have with the watch. Just can’t buy the watch by itself. Need to purchase straps.

Nice. Did you order it online or brick and mortar ?

Little update on my life with my Hermes.
I have had the ceramic Edition in both the Series 3 and 5. I have NEVER received the amount of complements that I have for my ceramic editions as I have had for my Hermes in the past week.
Very interesting.

The whole package with a Hermes face, stainless steel case, with the signature leather band blows away ceramic any day. It's too much eye candy for the normal eyes to take.

My experience has been the opposite, LOL.

I swap between my Hermès S6 SS, S5 Noir and S5 Ceramic daily and had received more compliments (Pre-COVID) on my Noir (finish) and Ceramic compared to any of the SS Hermès I've owned. Though most notice the straps more than the actual watch. But when people do notice the Ceramic - they know it's a ceramic. ?

IMO most people don’t notice/care, but some have commented on the shininess of the SS.

I usually only get compliments when I’m using my Hermès orange or Surf Blue sport band. My daily band is a more low key Navy Blue sport band.

Does anyone have the iOS 14.5 beta yet? The MacRumors post states:

“There are some updates to the Hermes watch faces with new color additions.”
Good catch! I don’t mess around with betas after a previous bad experience.

14.5 is rumored to release in March?

I bet these new colors are indicators of the new spring bands we’ll see.

Fingers crossed that the Circulaire watchfaces other than Indigo and White get a little brighter (i.e. usable) in always-on mode.
