Hermès buyers are already a relatively exclusive/discerning bunch as it is. I feel it's the perceived gender norms coupled with some degree of exclusivity I suppose. I guess they want to keep the wider variety of colors of a product exclusive to women because they feel the majority of men wouldn't want and buy them, so why make the products in those sizes.
Sales figures, actual as well as perceived, likely play a part too.
Probably more than it being an "old world fashion house holding onto dated concepts of gender norms."

They do make the purple/anemone color in 40mm, it appears to be in stock. Are you not looking to buy it directly from Apple? Hermès also sells it. Same price from both sites.
I‘d go used for this one. I have the rougue color but want the purple for university evrents, our colors are purple and gold.
There’s been an anemone double tour (from the previous time Apple released it, so different thread color) sitting on Mercari for the longest time. At $290 now, I bet you could offer below that and they would be willing to dump it. If I recall correctly you can fit a double tour? Bummer - the Hermes I bought from Poshmark got sent back to the seller, I received an email that said "prohibited item". The seller did reach out and claims she still has the receipt to confirm it is real. She thinks maybe electronics are not allowed to be sold. The search continues.

This is really weird. I sold an android watch on Poshmark and sold my previous Apple Watch Hermès on Mercari!
I’d ask the seller to list it on Mercari for you to purchase.
I think she mentioned she is going to use eBay. In the meantime besides Poshmark, eBay and mercari any other good sites where I might be able to find a slightly used one?

eBay is the best site for used apple watches in my experience. Poshmark and Mercari usually price sky high. eBay is way more realistic.
Thanks for the reply. Ill be on the look up there. The ones from apple seem to have a long shipping delay. Some watches and bands are getting delivery date of Late March.
I have had excellent experiences on Swappa, as both a buyer and as a seller. And it certainly is much more organized than the rolling chaos of eBay. It’s very easy to see if there are any watches that meet your search requirements and the one major downside of Swappa is a smaller community of sellers.
I wanted this for months and finally caved and bought the orange swift Attelage. Such a unique and elegant colour and the leather is supple as always! Love the top lug and asymmetric look.
Also I always have to go to a Hermès store to add an extra hole because of my small wrist but this attelage fits perfectly on the smallest hole. Must be because of the stiffness of the top lug.

Nice pix but I gotta say I’m dying to see how the new lug style looks from someone else’s vantage point.
PSA: If you own an Hermes watch and want/need either the orange or black sport band, chat into Apple Support and they will sell you both/either for retail price plus shipping. Used my S4 to score a black Hermes sport band today and a friend got both colors using his S6 noir. Just say you lost it.
Being normally unavailable for retail purchase, what do they have them priced at? Surely they can’t be the same price as the regular sport bands?

Any photos of the black band? Is it just a regular black sports band but with a Hermes engraved lug?
It’s a unique flavor of black from what I understand. Not Gen 1, not Gen 2, maybe close to Unity. I will post pics when it arrives. Hopefully from the repair depot here and not Pennsylvania.
