Sure there usually are several giveaways, but there are better and worse fakes. The buckle has so far never been copied AFAIK and is easier to spot, especially in pictures, than, say, the stitching.
for example through the code, not only the first letter but also the next two letters and the last two letters.
example K AA 015 JJ
AA and JJ are predefined codes, if there is a certain code there must be a specific one.
Every now and then I see great straps but fake ones like this one

Thanks for this. Can you explain what I should be looking for in regards to the code on the strap? Is there a giveaway that would let me know it was a fake band by the code?

I'm not sure what you mean by this? What should I be looking for, exactly? What does the fake one have that an authentic one wouldn't?

@DMG35 for exemple SI 000 DB. SI and DB they go hand in hand. there is no real table, Hermès never leaves explanations

@JoeyK attach the photo. always the X and the strange code I think there is written A ID 000 CF where A is the year 2017
ID and CF are fine, but 000 would appear to be pre-production.

in addition, you buy the strap with the special dustproof box, including the explanatory leaflets. check that the color is not at random, the Bandbreite app, great verification tool.

Another foster-band, swift v. mint gala v. used gala. Is it possible the space black noir leather was meant to be darker than the silver noir rallye?

The sticker on the box of the space black says “calfskin waxy” lol. Gotta be the Hermes store, right?

I did not understand the question, but I try to answer.
if you buy on the Hermès website, the box has no adeviso behind it. it's an orange box. then there is the envelope with the sales package sheet inside and the invoice all in A3 format.

Somehow this one ended up with some white, seemingly non-Apple stickers on it. Perhaps a really fancy secondhand store:

the film on the buckle is put on the items purchased from Hermès.
I have Y ID 050 for
Simple TourRallyePelle Vitello GalaNoir

Can you identify bands by the number stamped on them? I’d be curious as to an older one I purchased second hand if it was legit or not.

Any of you who own an luxury watch, do you find yourself wearing your Apple Watch more to an your luxury watch?

i ask because I want to purchase an Omega Aqua Terra, but afraid I’ll never wear it. I work from home and usually in sweats/shorts 24/7.

My first luxury watch purchase in my life was the 50th anniversary Submariner when it came out in 2003. Loved it and wore it continuously for over a decade. Then the Apple Watch first came out in 2015 and the Kermit has pretty much been sockdrawered ever since. The few times I’ve worn it since I got the Apple Watch, it just feels weird with it.

A couple years ago I took it out to wear to the opera when I went with some friends, and the entire time I felt apprehensive because my calories weren’t being tracked while being out and about for the night. How was I going to close my rings for the day, I kept thinking. And every time I’d get a vibration on my phone I’d still look at my wrist. Silly I know, but it’s funny how not having the Apple Watch was a near alien feeling to me and I couldn’t even feel comfortable being out for a night without it.

As soon as I got home a little after 11pm that night, I changed clothes, put the Apple Watch back on, and went out to run for a couple miles to make sure I closed my rings before midnight. Would I buy another luxury watch? No. I’m happy with the Hermès and the variety of straps offered for it.

Is anyone having issues with customizing the Circulaire configuration? It used to give options for music and timer among a few others, but now only gives me cellular, battery and today’s date options.

Are those apps still installed on your watch? A few weeks ago they disappeared for a few hours on me and many of my watchfaces looked very empty. Can’t say for certain it was my Hermes, but generally I get a lot of weird bugs on it I suspect are endemic to the fact that the Hermes OS is forked from the one everyone else gets and gets less attention. Same applies to Nike, especially an s3.

@PieTunes wow i'm pretty popped, why deprive yourself of a luxury watch whose beauty is wearing it to put on an apple watch? we are 10 to zero always for the luxury watch. at this point the apole watch on the right and the luxury watch on the left.

@Norre8 go and buy omega, investment

I like them

To quote Jony Ive, „Switzerland is f***ed“. The more functions Apple Watch gets, especially in the health area, the harder it will be to justify wearing a „dumb“ watch. And not many folks would go for the weird two-wrists-two-watches look.

On the other hand, I guess the rich keep getting richer, so if they have to find a way to spend all that cash they might as well collect a bunch of jewellery watches and wear them once in a while. So maybe the luxury makers will be fine.

One last thought: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While I can appreciate the craftsmanship of mechanical watches, in this day and age they mainly look old and broken to me.

Yes, I haven’t changed any apps since I first got my watch and set it up. It’s odd because my original circulaire configuration was still showing on my watch until I went into the watch app on my phone to modify it. It was then that the music and timer configurations were removed from my watch face and from the options in the app. Maybe erasing everything and restarting the watch from new will fix it?

Well as the default apps aren’t even technically delete-able and they reappeared on my watch the next day, I’m guessing those complications might just return without any rhyme or reason…
