Nah it won’t damage the band. All my Hermès bands have one extra hole it them.

It takes away the attention of the audience from the lady's face to the watch face.
While I think not just giving her the same SGA+black sport band/loop shows attention to detail, keeping the thing charged is probably too much. And better than when someone pretends to answer an iPhone and then talks to the regular lock screen haha.

I don't collect them at all. I always keep them new in the box until I upgrade and sell the watch. Even when I wore automatic watches back in the day I always went for metal and rubber straps.

That said I have a small collection of knock-offs from Amazon, just in case I have to attend a formal occasion. But even then I gravitate towards simply wearing a black or navy solo loop.
Before wearing the Apple Watch I had a collection of luxury automatic watches and the normal Apple Watch faces just didn't do it for me. The Hermes watch faces stopped my craving for a "nicer" looking watch and the price was OK for me compared to the Swiss watches I had owned. Like I said, leather bands just have never been my vibe. I don't know why.
I started collecting Hermes bands with series 5. I think I have 9 or 10 now as I am waiting for my Bleu Lin to show up. I do have one up for sale in the Marketplace with zero inquiries so far which is odd as it’s priced fairly for something i wore 2x. Guess it wasn’t popular when it was released. I do rotate the band every day from either Hermes leather, to sport band or loop, or braided. For the last week been wearing my new Circuit H bands because I really like them as they are different from what Hermes has released prior.
I always buy AppleCare+. Biggest reason is if the watch has a problem Apple will send you an advanced replacement. Otherwise you have to send the watch in for repair and wait 5-7 days for a new one. Good luck.
