Hermès Edition Owners Thread

I also buy the AppleCare. First, it gives you a third year of protection for your Hermes Apple Watch. Second, it has really helped me with resale after the second year, which is my regular upgrade cycle. So, for a buyer, they have a full year of protection on the watch when they buy it. Note that if you have this eventual transfer in mind, do NOT buy the monthly AppleCare plan. Only the term AppleCare plan is transferable.

I intend to buy the Apple Care+ but surprised why the cost of buying Apple Care+ for the Hermes Watch is double the cost of the Apple Care+ for the standard Stainless Steel model?

It is not like Apple is proving warranty coverage for the Hermes Watch Straps.

Aren’t the Hermes Watches the same as the Stainless Steel except the special Watch faces?

I understand the warranty terms but just don’t understand why the cost of purchasing the Apple Care + is double the cost of buying the coverage for the standard Stainless Steel model?

Unless Apple is protecting the Hermes Watch bands, there should be no difference. Yes, we get one more year of protection, but then it shouldn’t cost more than double.

Also with AppleCare if you happen to drop your precious watch onto porcelain tile like I did once and it hits the floor at just that right angle and the sapphire crystal cracks they replace your watch! Will always have it now because you just never know…
 
I will get the Apple Care+ for sure. My only confusion is why the cost of the Apple Care is twice of that for a standard stainless steel. They will replace the Watch without the leather Hermes strap. So why charge double?

Probably because they can. Not a great answer but that’s the truth lol.

1. because you get 3 years instead of 2 years of warranty and accidental damage protection and b) because they can.

I mean, seriously, with the Hermès Watch you pay several hundreds of $ for the leather strap and a small software modification (AKA exclusive watch faces), so 67 $ instead of 50 $ per year of AppleCare+ is, like, nothing.

Honestly, I think Bleu Lin is becoming my favorite band of all time.

It’s color seemingly changes depending on the lighting. Such a beautiful color and the swift leather of course is ??

First watch was aluminum, at 50% off and I fell, it scratched like a mofo. Second watch was stainless steel and got applecare plus. Never needed to use it.

This watch I’m contemplating, because I plan to keep it just as long if not longer then I had the ss and I use it daily.

But for phone I’ve always gotten the apple care plus theft. I’m clumsy and also can be forgetful/target given my stature.

Thank you. I’m really excited to get it. It’s different color than my other bands since most FTB ‘em are darker colors with the exception of my Swift Orange and my new Biscuit bands. I will definitely post pics of it with my SBSS Series 7.

I guess you are right.

I tried to add Apple Care+ from the internet but it says that “this device is not eligible for additional coverage”.

I called Apple Care hotline and they noticed that I just activated the watch early in the morning, so they suggested me to wait 24 hrs and then try again. Gave me a case number to follow up tomorrow.
For now it just shows limited coverage with a date 2 years from now.

Never had an issue with adding Apple Care+. The Apple Care+ hotline said this issue has happened a few times before.

Will try again tomorrow.

Did you try and add it form the Watch app on your iPhone? You should be able to do it from there. It’s under General, then About. It should show up there.

Apple Care Plus Theft? Is that something new from Apple?

They told me that but can’t find it there. The words “Apple Care+ Coverage Available” is not showing.

They told me if it doesn’t show up, they will put it manually for me.

You could push AW up your arm a little more for a tighter fit. Plus, you wash hands up to the wrist without getting leather band wet.

Ok. It’s probably too soon like they said. That happened to me before and like within two days it showed up. so just give it time and you’ll be able to add it I’m gonna add it to mine to this year. just have to pay for my Bleu Lin band first, lol
