They could have simply renamed it, and if watchOS isn’t finalized they can always bring it back. Or maybe they are naming it something else. Anything is possible.
Agreed. Its just a little worrisome especially with websites now reporting it.

I did secure a s7 OP. Picking up this week in SF. I will obv cancel it if S8 releases lol

The iPhone 14 case leaks show a new orange leather that looks exactly like the Hermès Orange, maybe that color will be for all to use? Space Black Hermès iPhone incoming? IDK, excited for tomorrow 🤣

It’s not that. wOS 9 has removed “Hermes” from the font name for the orange font color.

That we have not seen before and does not bode well IMO.
That’s odd but why would they do that? Even if there isn’t a Hermès S8, there are many users from older Apple Watch Hermès that will upgrade to watchOS 9 and may use that font colour?

I think Apple will continue it. Apple Watch pro is not for the same type of buyer that the Hermes model is for. They have different target markets. Not surprised they aren’t available for purchase because this has been the pattern. I think these sites are just fishing, throwing out what sticks because of the Apple Pro model. The same buyer of that is not the Hermes buyer. I would not go by the font color being removed, i would be more concerned if the Hermes faces were removed altogether.

Even if they did away with the watch why remove the AirTags from Hermes website that makes absolutely no sense. They aren’t simply gonna throw away their stock of them. I just think they removed all Apple products prior to the event tomorrow.

Think about it is Apple going to stop selling a Nike brand version of the watch because now they have their own pro model focused on fitness?????
I mean yes? Why would apple sell a new line devoted to fitness with a competitor Nike watch right next to it? They wouldn't do that IMO.

Someone care to drop a link to the news article on this?

edit: found it in safari; i guess they don’t post everything to Apple News, although this is hardly news lol

Nike is a running watch, given they sell a Nike SE, I think for the most part it’s geared at not-extreme running. Still the point stands and is a tough call.

I agree but if Apple sells this so called Pro that does everything A nike watch does, they def will not sell a nike watch which cuts into Apples profit.

I really hope im wrong bc I love the Nike and Hermes watch. I will gladly be wrong and buy one this Friday.

It’s all speculation at this point. We’ll all know by this time tomorrow though! If I was a betting man I’d wager the partnership is done—I can’t see wiping the Hermes website of AirTags ahead of an iPhone/watch event. Seems odd to get rid of a product that probably isn’t updating tomorrow.

I wonder if Apple forced them to take them down ahead of Apple’s web-based store closing during the event so that Hermes doesn’t have an advantage for those looking to buy during that time (who could otherwise buy direct from Apple). And Hermes doing it a day early comes as no surprise as they’re not very savvy when it comes to their website.

I agree with @athousandbands - The Pro version is not targetted at casual runners or gym goers who like to have a few Nike faces / bands or like the Nike brand itself. They have Nike SE and standard Nike versions which are a lot cheaper than the supposed Pro.

Same goes to Hermes watches. Most people who get the Hermes version are probably not going to get the Pro version (myself included), it's just too big and bulky for everyday use or to wear to a nice function.

And I thought Apple has geared the AW towards fitness and health tracking in general the last few years anyway.

I mean the volt color on non-Nike faces has always been called Volt not Nike. Maybe it’s just a taxonomical about-face.
I think the option for the orange numerals has always been "Orange Dial", correct? So I'm thinking it's just to make things consistent. Or at least I certainly hope so! =)

Has this happened before? I only dipped my toes in the Hermes pool with the S6 so I have no idea how things worked in the past.

I agree the Nike collaboration looks like it might be on thin ice. It probably depends on how Apple markets this new jumbo model as to whether the Nike will still have a reason to exist.
As of right now Apple still has the Hermes web page. I’m not worried.

They also removed the “Hermès” name for the exclusive orange color way for Hermès watches in watchOS 9. It’s just “Orange” now which is weird because there’s two different shades of oranges in the color picker after the change.
Hermes was never sold in titanium or ceramic. I’m not too worried about the name not appearing in Watch OS betas.

No we’re talking about the Hermes orange option on “Cupertino” faces. But yes exactly what’s the point of removing it there but still have all the branded af Hermes faces.

The Apple Watch Hermes debuted in September 2015. I doubt they signed a 7 year deal. More likely it was a 5 year deal with extensions. By all accounts it is selling well. Plus they added AirTags. I’m guessing we will see all new exclusive bands and AirTag designs tomorrow. Hermes is a fashion brand. Fashion changes quickly and exclusivity is a feature, so the old designs and colors may be on the way out with replacements to come.

+1, this to me feels like it’s the first proof that it’s over. Items removed from the website is not concerning. Plus as someone else said, Hermes website feels like it’s from 2005.

But removing of Hermes name from wOS 9 beta, that’s deeply concerning.

Just watch, Apple will try to introduce its own “premium leather” bands and charge $500 instead of the $300 Hermes charges.

Guess we have 25~ hours left to find out.

You might want to see if you can snag a S7. You have 2 weeks to return it. That way if it is the last Hermes, you’ve got the latest one.
Apple can’t charge $500 for premium leather bands. They have no reputation for quality leather. The first “classic” Apple Watch leather bands felt rubbery, the Modern bands are thin, and their leather cases for Macs were OK but not premium.
